Portions are big at Mal Li Jang Sung, so be prepared to eat. We ordered Combo A, which consisted of sweet and sour pork(tang soo yook), black bean sauce noodle(jja jang myun), and the spicy seafood noodle soup(jjang bong). We also ordered the sweet and spicy chicken(kang poong gi) and Korean pork feet(jok bal, which comes with radish kimchi, garlic, lettuce, and sauces). The sweet and spicy chicken was our favourite dish, very spicy with lots of flavour. We also really liked the sweet and sour pork. The noodle dishes were okay. As for the pork feet, we probably wouldn’t order it again. Service is not bad, prices are fair, and as mentioned earlier portions are big, we were stuffed.

The food is getting better here each time I go. Just went back this past weekend and the place was packed!!! Make sure you try the sliced steam pork with either the spicy cold noodles or the black bean spinach noodles, it’s sooo good. I was told the chef was the chef of Hilton in Seoul, Korea and then he decided to move over here and open up this business. The location is not optimal and they definitely need more staff BUT be patient cause the food is worth it at great prices, hence the busyness!

This Korean restaurant is amazing. Ordered a combo B which comes with Jajang myun(Blackbean noodle), Jjampong(Spicy noodle) and Ganpoonggi(deep fried chicken) and all of them were so delicious and flavourful. Noodle tasted good and surprised that they make spinach noodles here. They also had posters about handmade spinach noodle in the restaurant. The price of this combo B was around $ 26 which is a bit expensive, but it’s worth it. Portion here is so big and filling it’s big enough for 3 people. Also they taste way better than H-Mart and other Korean Chinese restaurants in downtown.

Your typical Chinese Korean food restaurant located in North Surrey. The outside is definitely very humble looking, maybe even hole in the wall but once inside, you will be surprised. While it isn’t fancy looking inside, it looks better than it looks from outside. They have good combo menus. We tried Jjang myun and Dae ji jok-bal(sliced pork hock). Dae ji jok-bal was a hit with us because the portion was quite generous and the meat was tender and seemed like it was cooked properly. And the accompanied Chinese cabbage, dried spicy radish and soy bean paste were also quite delectable as well and something that complements the pork hock. We ordered the combo Jjang myun which is little different from regular Jjang myun; it is bigger portion since it is meant to be shared. While it wasn’t bad, I think I prefer to order the single portion Jjang myun because typically the noodle is little has little bit more elasticity. Overall, I give this place 3.5 stars for its overall food but 5 stars for Dae ji jok-bal.

I loved this place. This is korean-chinese food, like jajangmyun, tengsu, etc. The location is well-hidden in a side street, and definitely doesn’t scream«Come on in». But once inside, I thought the décor was quite respectable and tasteful with a genuine korean-chinese style. The chandeliers are pretty, and the paintings. Maybe it got renovated since the previous review. So cheap. The combo A for $ 25 came with a giant platter of tensu sweet & sour fried pork, and two large bowls of noodles. More than enough for my friend and me. Their spicy jajangmyun is hard to find elsewhere in the Lower Mainland, and quite delicious. Definitely coming back!
