Worst service ever! Sat for 20 minutes then waved over waitress for drinks– asked for menus at the same time. Took an hour before we were able to wave down the bartender to order the food… still haven’t seen waitress. This is during lunch hour and it’s not busy. Definitely won’t be back. Oh… but she has time to check her phone for messages.

Went to The Taphouse to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Haven’t been here since when it used to be Mirage, so I was curious to see how it turned out because it used to be pretty dank. But it turned out great and it was bumpin’ on a Friday night! They had great service overall, the place is huge(2.5 floors) and considering we were a big group and had only made reservations an hour beforehand, they were very accommodating. Food is okay. Typical pub stuff, nothing spectacular though. I ordered the nachos and cod and chips. Nachos were too thin and kept breaking when I dipped it in the salsa. The coating on the fish was too soggy. I think fries are your best bet here. They had live music there though which was really great, and they played the hits afterwards and a ton of people were dancing. It’s a good energy that the Mirage didn’t really bring when it occupied this space. Overall, I wouldn’t come here for the food, but I’d come for the happy hour drink specials and the vibes.

The reso situation is a joke. Online I could only book up to 6 people even though it goes past 12+, so I called in to make the reso bigger and(he explained the max you could book online was 10 apparently?) he would give us two booths next to each other. I get there and my friends have already taken up a booth but both the ones next to ours were full of people. I mention it to our server and she blames the apparently new hostess, then moves the entire booth to a separate table, I felt SO bad for them. My friends who made a reso of their own that night waited 10 minutes back at the front because her ‘name was written down, but she hadn’t been assigned’. So shit points on reservations. The only toilet upstiars was ‘Out of Service’ even though the door had not been locked and women were using it anyway…(blood and everything in there) Their server was nice enough, only we wished she wouldn’t touch us to get our attention. Drinks took a long time to get, guys would get their beers first before the girls got theirs 10 minutes later, a bit ridiculous. She also charged me for 3 drinks when I only ordered 2: I got a bellini at first and when she came back asking for another round a said yes but then two seconds later ordered a Pina Colada instead. My bill comes and I’m so confused, she tries to convince me that I had two bellinis when I clearly only remember drinking one. Turns out my friend thought the extra bellini that she got was complimentary, which explains the missing bellini, which shouldn’t have been there to begin with. It was hard to talk to each other even being crammed in a booth with about 3 feet between us. The band was pretty cheesy, wished they would play more top 40s or something dance-able. I saw there was an older crowd but it didn’t make sense if you’re, at the same time, trying to be young with the short dresses some of the staff was wearing. No wonder they’ve been getting 2.3 stars every where. Their staff clearly is not sure what they’re doing. Not sure if they got what it takes to make it as a hot spot in Surrey, yet again.

Really didn’t know what to expect, as Guildford isn’t really known for watering holes. Parking is available in the lot in front of the building. It was quite full(Thursday), but there were still a few spots left. The inside is like a typical sports pub, with plenty of screens, and one big one in the middle. There’s an upper mezzanine area too, though it was closed when we were there. There’s also a large patio in front. Staff were friendly, though the place was a bit understaffed. Took us a few attempts to flag down the waitress for drinks. The Taphouse in-house lager isn’t bad at all, though it’s a bit pricey at $ 4. Goes down easy. The Taphouse burger was the best deal in terms of food. Handmade patty, and plenty of toppings. Fries were slightly mushy. Half-decent, but again, nothing special. The entertainment for Thursday was dueling pianos. The 2 guys were pretty good, though it would’ve been nice if they used real pianos instead of electric keyboards on piano-looking tables. With that said, one guy was operating a looper with his feet, so maybe the electric keyboard is the only way to do this. I wouldn’t mind coming back, but there are plenty of other options in the area. Nothing really stood out for me here.

This was the second time I’ve been to tap house, we were seated on the patio at first while the server greeted us kindly and got our drinks. We were then seated inside, to watch and listen to the live band playing that night. It was about 10:00pm by that time, checked the menu and was ready to order some small bites. We waited half an hour and no one had taken our order. I understand it was a busy friday night, but that was Definitely unacceptable service.

We came here for the BCCMA finals. It was a good time with great musicians doing what they do best. We ordered a Caesar, couple o’beers, and some fully loaded nachos. The nachos were delish cage guacamole wasn’t my fave. I love guacamole too. The salsa was alright. Who knows, maybe in just a guacamole and salsa snob, but I’m usually a pretty good judge of these things. Of course I won’t slag the rating down over some guacamole and salsa, because the bartender was great. I think he was from down under(Australia). Friendly and prompt service, that is always great. The place is huge and lots of seating below and upstairs. Not sure if there’s a dance floor, for those of you wondering. All in all it was a good time. That busy night we were probably the last people to get a parking spot. It could have been busier too, so be prepared for that. Have fun and always be safe and responsible!

After checking out the guilford station pub(see my review there) I decided to come here. Much better place IMO. Not many people here on a Tuesday night but they had a dude playing good acoustic guitar and a great bar /beer selection. I had the Ahi Tuna Tacos and they were great. I’ll take this place over the guilford pub.

I am not sure whether the Taphouse is a restaurant or a pub. I believe it is a restaurant with pub activities and aspirations. The building is a two-tiered modern warehouse structure with an outdoor patio area. The furniture [tables, chairs, booths, sofas ] is restaurant chic. The bottom floor has a pool table, big screen TV., and a wrap around bar. The upper floor is primarily a restaurant. The clientele is younger than one finds in most pubs and the atmosphere is upbeat. The menu is extensive and features steak, seafoods, and salads. The drinks are reasonably priced but the hamburger I had was good but expensive especially when I was charged extra for onions. The service was, at best, casual. I found the wait gaps between food and drinks a little longer than I’m used to. I believe that the Taphouse has great potential but in my opinion hasn’t achieved it yet.

The thing about this place is that the food may well be tasty but the service is SO bad and the«management» staff could not care any less than they demonstrated. Give this place a «pass» as you head to somewhere more reliable in the area — like Milestones, Earls, Moxie’s or Mcdonalds.

My first visit to this place was on a Sunday, with a couple of friends. It took about 20 minutes after we sat down for our order to be taken. 1 out of our 3 orders was screwed up, didn’t think much about it(mistakes can happen), then we asked for ketchup and water, never came. She seemed awfully young and inexperienced. So I gave it a pass. Breakfast wrap with hash browns(nugget kind) was very yummy. My 2nd visit, was awful. Again, we were seated and it took 20 minutes for our order to even be taken. And then it was another 40 minutes for our food to arrive. We ended up asking for it to go since we had to go. Waitress was rude and and snotty. Again, I think way too young. My friend had asked for salad with her beef dip but got fries instead. When she asked the the server where her salad was, the server argued and said, «ugh-no you asked for fries». My friend said no, she looked at her notebook, and said«whatever-I’ll just get you your salad». We had asked for the bill, and it took 15 minutes before she circled back. I think management needs to do a better job with hiring its staff. At the end of the day, think of your customers as a guest in your home and ask yourself, how would my Mom or Grandmother treat a guest? MANNERSMATTERS! I have worked in a restaurant and really appreciate how hard it is. However it is no excuse for poor service. This is my first Unilocal review. And I’m sorry to say, I will not be in a hurry to give this place a 3rd chance:(

My boyfriend drove by this place many times and suggested we try it out. They had live music and dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. I was kind of confused, I thought the taphouse was a pub, walking in and seeing how everyone was dressed, I thought I was walking into another Milestones and Moxie’s. My boyfriend and I were seated immediately. We waited about 15 minutes to be served. The table behind us was served before we were. It seemed like most of the waitresses were avoiding our table so we couldn’t find someone to speak to about the lack of service. We didn’t make a big deal about it since it was a Saturday night and the establishment was getting busier. $ 4 Taphouse Lager, and $ 6 for all other craft beer the price isn’t so bad. My boyfriend had the burger and he thought that was good. I had the Cod and Chips, for $ 12. I thought I would be getting a larger piece of cod.

I was here for a few drinks with a friend and got few tacos($ 2/taco). First, I liked the new set up and new approaches they are taking(live bands on the weekend, game night, etc.). It is competing with The Station pub, Earls, Moxies and the new Milestone at the Guildford. The price for food and drinks are on par with all, except Station Pub which provides cheaper and better foods hands down. The waitress at Taphouse is younger but not as experienced and it shows. When I arrived, I was told to sit down any where on the patio. Yet when I sat down at a far end corner, I was ignored for 20 minutes. I even made an eye contact with a waitress and put my hands up but she never came! We were not her table so I guess she moved on. we finally were greeted by our waitress. She apologized upon my complaint. She told us that she was on a break and someone else was supposed to cover her. Ok… The drink selection on tap was pretty poor when this place opened but has improved a lot — we got a vareity of choices ranging from seasonal porter to local pilsner(Howin pilsner or something?). I liked both that I tried. The $ 2 tacos were bit too salty. It was basically two salted hard taco shells stuffer with seasoned ground beef and chopped tomatoes and lettuce. I appreciated that the veges were fresh! But it didn’t taste that good and I wouldn’t get it again even at $ 2. I tried the fries but it was not crispy. If I wanted to try few pints on the patio with a friend, this fits the bill. But if I want some food, Station pub is more reliable. I noticed the crowd here is much younger in general compared to Station Pub. I hope there are need for both. Still, if I wanted to take out a date for few drinks, I would try Moxie and Milestone. In my opinion, Taphouse should build its strength on a good selection of beers on tap, get more experienced waitresses and work on creating some outstanding signature dishes(like their nachos) to go along with beer.

Over priced food for what you get. The atmosphere is older. Music is typically live band… Not a fan of that. Miss the old mirage for sure. Would never come to tap house for a meal again

Tip my hat off to the taphouse managemrnt. They quickly realized that their menu and specials plan wasn’t working, parking lot looks like a ghost town on most afternoons, their management made some changes to attract customers, more importantly the quality is . Just revisited this sports bar/pub for their 3:00 — 5:30 Happy hour everyday and left definitely satisfied. Their pizzas have been good since they opened but with new types on the menu, including an awesome shrimp Caesar-salad pizza, I know lettuce on pizza. Taphouse is fighting to stand out as just not another Surrey pub with live mature music in the evenings, ghost-of-Mirage venue but a competitive restaurant with more to offer than just beer and wine.

Terrible experience. First time going there, we got seated but didn’t get an opportunity order anything for 20 – 30 minutes. When we finally did order, they messed up 2 of our 4 orders. They brought out the wrong pizza, then brought out the nachos we ordered when we were ready to leave. When we complained to the manager AND the GM, instead of making it right, he defended the waitress and argued with us. not how a manager nor a GM should treat customers

Ok, so I went to try this place out expecting to be disappointed and was pleasantly surprised. Reno looks nice and the patio looks like it will be nice in the good weather. My husband and I went Sunday afternoon to watch a Seahawks game and try it out. Not sure if our experience would apply to a busy weekend night however. I had looked up the beer list on the internet before hand and was a bit let down and still think the management should rethink what beers to offer as probably 20 of the 26 taps are wasted on the big corporate breweries with a bone thrown here and there to those of us like the first reviewer, who don’t consider Bud and Canadian to be actual beer. Have your 2 Taphouse beers of course and give the folks a tap for Canadian, Coors light and Bud and that should keep them happy as they don’t care about beer otherwise they would drink good beer. I will even be generous and say keep the Granville Island even though they are owned by Molson. Get rid of the 1516, Sleemans, Moosehead, Labatt’s, Okanagan Springs, Original 16. You are a taphouse that is within a 4 hour drive of at least 150 breweries or more if you include Washington state, that are making some of the best beer in the industry. I am a big believer that local business should source locally and frankly, beer should be a gimme here. Hell, Russels has been brewing in Newton for almost 20 years and you don’t have them on tap? No Whistler Black Tusk? Four Winds is on River Road… get creative… if you pour it we will come. The servers were all very pleasant but didn’t really know a lot about the beer except that there were 26 taps… seasonal? flight? tap take overs? rotating taps… not a glimmer of recognition for any of these terms. Also get in touch with CAMRA South Fraser — they are all about the beer and will help you to advertise things like weekly casks, tap takeovers, brewmaster dinners and all other things craft beer-y. Another slight disappointment was that the pours are only 16oz and not true 20oz pints but that is specified on the menu so fair enough. However the 16oz pour makes the beer more expensive per oz than places pouring 20oz for the same or close to the same price. The food we ordered this afternoon was completely excellent. We started with the Thai Honey-Lime wings and the Pork Belly Spring rolls. Both were delicious. My husband ordered the chicken burger that he said was good(a little dry) and he liked the fries. I ordered the Mac and Cheese skillet which was superb. It came with lovely crunchy truffle oiled panko breading on top. It was not drowning in cream sauce and was more of a baked mac casserole so the sauce had been absorbed by the pasta — it was wonderful. I would order this again in a heartbeat. The best part is that all of our food made it to the table piping hot! That is a big pet peeve of mine. I will tolerate food that is mediocre or even not quite the way I ordered it but I will send back cold/lukewarm food every time. All in all I was pleased with our experience this time and we will be back. Adding some Happy Hour specials will help gain and retain customers. The servers we had were all very nice but lacked training. Little knowledge of beer when you work in a «taphouse» is not acceptable and we did have a few things brought to our table that we didn’t order. The servers were a bit confused about where food and drinks belonged. Hopefully more constructive feedback on the beer menu will see some changes over time and have lots of yummy craft beers to drink! Oh! The ladies washroom was very nice, very clean and I loved the chandelier and the TV to keep an eye on the game!

You shouldn’t tell people not to sit downstairs in front of the big screen during a Canucks game because«it will be the dance floor later.» Line up at the front door, and you’re taking tables away? You also need ranch dip that doesn’t have the consistency of skim milk. It ran right off my hot wings. Pork belly pizza was ok, although the toppings were a bit scarce. Service was very sporadic. For every one time the server came to our table, the neighboring tables got 5 visits. You’d think that I was exaggerating. Food was luke warm at best. Maybe the short skirts are to distract from the bad experience. If you look up the Facebook reviews, you’ll notice that most of them were posted before the pub even opened for business, and they don’t even have comments, just rated 5 stars by people who suspiciously look like they work there. Avoid this place!

Food was really good but for a tap house they need to have a better beer selection. An improvement over regular places nearby, but need more. Coors, Canadian and Bud are not beers ;)
