A lot of fun, a lot of laughs, and a lot of good times! I’ve been here several times in the last several years with groups of friends and we always have a good laugh. It’s a great place for a date, as there are also other great restaurants near by to check out, and it’s a great place to go for birthdays or special events. Warning: If you sit in or near the front row, you will likely get picked on! I don’t believe I’ve eaten here before, but I’ve had drinks. Best would be to get beer. The mixed drinks aren’t the greatest. I’ve had beer, house wine, and bloody caesar. The caesar was too sweet and there was nothing special about it – no celery stick. Also, if you order water, they’ll tell you that they serve only bottled water, so there is no way to order just a glass from the tap! All in all, I come for the entertainment, not so much for anything else. They also have amateur/pro nights on Wednesdays for $ 6, Thursdays & Sundays are $ 10, and Fridays & Saturday nights are $ 15. On Saturdays, they have two shows, one at 8pm and the other at 10:45pm. Try to arrive 30 min early to check-in and reserve your seats!

We come by for the weekday comedy nights quite regularly. Can’t base a review on the comics because it can be great or not– that’s on your sense of humour, the comic, and the audience. Venue is great, cozy, with good-enough food, and great seating options. Staff are friendly and servers are on their game!

Went there last Saturday when we were in town visiting family. The line up was really great. The head liner was just hilarious. We really enjoyed ourselves. Will come back next time back in Toronto.

I recently visited Absolute Comedy for the first time, and had a great experience. My friend and I got a Groupon deal that included a pre-show dinner buffet, the chance to reserve your seating for the show, and the actual show itself. Overall, the buffet was delicious — the meat lasagna, roast beef, and mashed potatoes in particular were superb. My only complaint was that the bread was very dry, but I’d rather that be the weakest part of the meal than any of the main dishes. Coffee, tea, and dessert were also provided, which was a nice touch and was certainly tasty. The buffet lasted an hour(7pm-8pm), and towards the end of your meal you’re asked where you’d like to sit. The venue itself felt cozy and intimate and was clean — certainly a good aesthetic. I appreciate that they’re very strict on ensuring there’s good audience behaviour during the show, including no texting and heckling. It’s great to see they want to ensure that not only the talent are respected, but that audience members have a comfortable and fun time as well. I went on a Friday night, which had three professional comedians and an MC/comedian. That particular night’s talent was incredibly funny. I’d imagine that the level of talent I experienced that evening is representative of an average night at Absolute Comedy. The staff were phenomenal as well! Service was great — everything went smoothly and I felt we were well attended to. We didn’t order from the bar, so I can’t speak to the price or quality of the drinks. In the end, a dinner and show package at Absolute Comedy makes for a great evening out. You get some time to chat and eat, get some good laughs in, and have something to talk about afterwards — not too shabby! I can’t wait to visit again!

My husband and I went to Absolute comedy on a Friday night, and had a very good time. We saw 5 comedians plus the MC. They were all pretty funny in their own rights. We certainly had good laughs with at least 2 of the comedians! This place seems to be a favorite, since it was packed! We bought our tickets on Groupon, and did not regret it! The food was also good and affordable(for comedy club fare). We highly recommend it!

As other Comedy clubs serving stand up comedy you never know what you gonna get, some are funnier than others and some flop. But the venue itself is nice, small and intimate where the comedian is inside the crowd. The admission price is right too but food is average.

Always a fun night. I prefer this comedy club over Yuk Yuk’s. The staff are always professional. The venue is clean and seating arrangement is more comfortable — there are various levels and booths(irst come first serve of course(yukyuks makes you pay to sit at booths). If the venue doesnt fill up they limit the seating to a certain area and put curtains around which makes it cozier for the stars and for the audience. The comics are overall also better especially the amateurs. Sometimes the staff pop in on amateur night too and they’re awesome! They handle heckling much better than yukyuk’s. I do have to note that since yukyuks is downtown the crowd it attracts might be more vulnerable to heckling(they advertise heavily to students), so there’s that. But overall I have a better time at absolute. Do not fear sitting in front — it enhances the experience!

I’ve come here twice now — once on a Wed(pro am night for $ 5) and again on a Saturday(dinner and show for $ 27 not including tax and tip). Had a great experience both times. Well worth it for the money you’re paying. First time I went, we didn’t make a reservation. We got seated near the back cause all the closer better seats are saved for people who made reservations. Spots were decent nonetheless, and there were a lot of comedians on for Wed. Some were really funny, some weren’t as funny — but overall good quality of comedians keeping in mind it’s pro am night(mix of pros and amateurs). Saturday was great. Host and headliner were really funny. Show alone would’ve been $ 15 if we didn’t do the dinner and show package. Dinner was good! It was from 6−7pm, and show started at 8. It’s buffet with salad, veggies, pasta, lasagna, roast beef and mashed potatoes. I really enjoyed the salad bar(lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrots) with the 4 dressing options. The cheese on the pasta was good, and the mashed potatoes were actually really tasty. I wasn’t impressed by the roast beef or lasagna. Make sure you start eating early enough, cause they don’t refill the buffet items. Dessert was bite-sized butter tarts, carrot cake, and brownie. Overall, this is a great way to spend an evening, and I’d say is good value. Some things to keep in mind: Box office is cash only They don’t serve tap water in the comedy seating area(which I entirely disagree with, especially if you’re serving alcohol) — but they do sell bottled water for $ 2

After a day of bar hopping my friends booked tickets for us to come watch the show. A first for me and boy was it fun! The MC or opening guy was the funniest, we had tears streaming down our faces. The others were all good too. Our waitress was even sassy and witty. Fun times.

Went here last night and I was very impressed! All the acts they got and the mc were fabulous. They were very smart with their comedy and each act had thee own different style and made me laugh out loud, they were all great w interacting w the crow and playing off reactions. I was very impressed by the drink deals here and a shout out to the service has to be done because they were on there a game considering how busy it was. The only downfall is the limited nights they have shows and that’s the only time there open but when thy are it’s a great time!

This place at first blush is kind seedy but I can say the comedians are top notch(been here at least 6 times). The food is so-so and drinks a bit expensive but when you consider how cheap it is to get in its all ok. You can feel safe in the front rows. These comedians are funny without having to resort to attacking the audience.

I always have a great time here. The comics are 90% great(I’ve seen a couple of misses) and their drink and food prices are not exorbitant. This is a really great place to spend an evening with friends or on a date. The only thing I don’t really like is the fact that service during the show is kind of slow. They don’t seem to have enough staff for all the big parties, so you tend to wait a bit for drinks, unless you got a pitcher with one friend. Some tips: — Always make a reservation — Remember your reservation number — Bring exact cash If everyone does this, that obnoxious line to pick up tickets would be way shorter.

Pretty ironic that a comedy club can have such uptight and unaccommodating staff. We were told to split our group even though there were more than 10 free spots even after the show started. Maybe be less high-strung and try to care for your guests?

Food, not the best. But for the same price as cover to a club it is more fulfilling(to me anyway) and also gives you something to do if you’re going with people that don’t talk a lot or has a lot of awkward silences. I think some of the jokes are a hit or miss, it totally depends on the comedian and your own sense of humor but I laughed a lot!

I love this place! AC is conveniently located just north of Eglinton subway station. The venue is spacious and the atmosphere is even better. Even though I was tucked away in a corner, I could still see, hear, and enjoy the comedians. Plus, for $ 6 on a Wednesday, you can’t go wrong.

Love this comedy club! Been to Absolute over 5 times now and I am definitely a fan! The vibe is just fun and the staff is so friendly. One thing I gotta mention, Some of their comedians said some repeat jokes and it was just lame hearing it a second/third time… however I understand stand up comedy is hard work so regardless kudos’ to them. Food isn’t anything special and prepare for the service to be slow, there’s probably about 3 servers working the club so that’s a given. None the less great comedy club highly recommend!

Comedy is a very subjective profession. Some people will like it. Others will think it’s an easy way out of a real job. Comedy is hard. It’s a profession I deeply admire and respect. Absolute Comedy is not my cup of tea. Plus, the actual premises are out of date, cheap and the menu is disgusting. Thank goodness they serve Perrier.

Being the math nerd that I am, I’m going to start this with a lame math joke. «Absolute» in math will turn a negative into a positive and keep a positive positive. Absolute comedy does exactly that, it will turn a negative mood into a positive mood or if you’re already in a good mood, it will maintain/extend that good mood. If you understood that joke, then let’s have a math party and if you didn’t, can I please hang out with you because I want to be as cool as you. :-) Seriously, here’s the breakdown: Likes — much cheaper than Yuk Yuk’s and Second City. Will still keep you laughing. For an entertainment venue, drinks and food aren’t totally insane prices. Food is served relatively fast, as is food and the servers are always walking around to make sure you are satisfied. Dislikes: Not many, but kind of odd how they will take credit/debit for the food, but not for the box office. Find it odd Verdict: Great cheap night out.

This was the third comedy bar that I’ve been to in Toronto and I absolutely loved it! Pun intended! I laughed my butt off. I went with two girlfriend’s on a Friday night. The place was packed. The seating was great; you could see and eat from every seat in the house. Service was frequent and friendly. The drinks were strong, and decently priced. The nachos were great too — our second choice, since they ran out of the spinach and artichoke dip before the show even started(weird!). I was surprised they only had bottled water though. I thought it was a condition of their liquor license that they have to have free water available. Bit of a rip off there in my opinion.

Came back with Slinky Woman for the pre-show buffet. A ticket Saturday night will run you $ 15(the price of a 3D movie). For an extra $ 12 you get a pre-show buffet and priority seating. The buffet won’t blow you away, it’s your no frills wedding type food(a meat, a couple pasta dishes, salad). They had a lasagna and a penne and both were quite tasty. There’s free coffee and a dessert tray. The mini cupcakes are delightful. Instead of blowing $ 20 for a pub burger and fries before the show, save a few bucks and indulge in an entirely passable buffet. Absolute Comedy just continues to be the absolute best food/drink/entertainment value in the city.
