Apple Store

Such obnoxious staff. There’s an arrogant attitude among many employees. It’s always busy, and the staff act like they don’t need your business because they have so many other people they can sell to. Only redeeming value was the manager who tried to apologize and «thanked me for my feedback.» You’re welcome?!

This is my go to Apple Store when I have issues with my Apple products. The staff is very friendly, and helpful.
On two separate occasions, I had to bring my Mid-​2009 Macbook Pro for issues (trackpad & battery). I asked them, if there is any possible to way to have the repair done same day at the store. I was driving nearly two hours each way as I living away from the city. They looked at their schedule, and found time relatively close to my initial genius bar appointment to accommodate my repair. One occasion, I made a genius bar appointment, and the other time it was a walk-​in (earliest online appointment was a few days away which didn’t work with my schedule).
This location is smaller compared to Yorkdale, and Square One, it gets crowded inside. Best bet is to come on a weekday if you are looking for a drop-​in appointment. If buying products, be sure the check online for inventory location, or pre purchase your order online before you arrive.
As with all Apple stores, purchasing products is a breeze through your Apple Store app. It’s a quick and efficient process to go in and get out. Make sure your app is setup prior to leaving home.

This place gives me a headache when it’s busy. Fawk sakes!

Terrible set up over crowding pretty sad when you pay a fortune to be told you need an appointment

ive been coming to this location since it opened back in 2008. Over the years Ive had many good experiences and encounters with various employees. A number of visits have been to the Genius Bar and every time has been pleasant and helpful. After shopping and interacting at other Apple stores around Toronto, including Yorkdale, Eaton Centre and Markville. I can say this is the better of the 4 locations. The employees are friendly, not stuck up and for the most part knowledgable of products and services. The store doesnt get ridiculously busy like the Eaton Centre location. The store isnt as rude as Markville and not as stuck up as Yorkdale. Im not saying this location is perfect. I have had a few occasions where I was misinformed by an employee, most of the time they apologized. Majority of time Ive had a good experience which is not what I can say about the Eaton Centre or Markville location.

I tend to come to this Apple Store when I have issues. Mostly because I can get an appointment here faster than I can at the Apple Store at the Eaton Centre. Last time I was here, my home button on my phone stopped working… I had a super hassle free experience and they exchanged it without issue. I’m here today about my iPad. We shall see. I arrived about 15 minutes early and they were 20 minutes late. (To be honest, I didn’t even know Fairview was open until 9 on Saturdays). Overall it was ok, but I was experiencing a bad technology day. It seems like everything is breaking… not this stores’ fault… although the guy did take my iPad away then brought it back a bit more banged up looking than when he left with it…

I visit the Apple store occasionally for service on a broken device, or to buy a new one. I bought the new iPhone 6 today because my iPhone 4 stopped working. It was a breeze to do and while you talk to the employee about what you want to buy, another employee comes out and hands you the device you wanted to purchase. I spent less than 10 mins, and I was out of the store with a new phone. Somehow, I was already told everything I would need to know in those 5 mins talking to the employee.
The workers here are very nice, and are open to sharing information along with honest opinions. The guy I was talking you, said he bought himself an iPhone 6 Plus when it came out, but would have bought the smaller size because it was a bit too big for his liking.
Overall, this is a typical Apple store, but it is pretty small compared to others. The employees are very helpful, and you definitely won’t be disappointed. (Unless you had to pay more than you expected for something)

I am not sure what the point of having a service appointment is when they make you wait in line for 20 minutes anyway.

I have visited this APPLE store several times and finally I am writing about my experience.
I have been to this APPLE store a handful of times and every time I have a very positive experience. The service is a true 5 out of 5. They always acknowledged me and its always feels welcoming and not pushy. The staff are very observant and know when you help or when you need to browse.
The first time I was there I was there to buy a gift certificate. It was easy! Easy where it only involved an swipe on the Ipad and a swipe of my debit card and I was out. Gift card in hand and receipt emailed.
The second time I went to inquire about the battery replacement program for my specific Iphone model. The staff diagnosed my phone right on the spot and arranged an appointment for the next day. I go in the next day they retrieved my info and got my phone fixed up in one hour. It was easy, organized and expertise service.
I am a happy Apple user.

To add to my previous review, Apple, if you had a face I would make out with it. I went in today for my appointment with the geniuses and I got the usual wonderful service and prompt responses. Last time they went above and beyond with recommendations and service, this time the apple care blew me away.
I have a retina apple MacBook. It is a thing of beauty. But, after a year and a half of travelling and working online, it has seen better days. The fan labours, the screen has dead pixels, the track pad sticks, and the battery/​keyboard have seen better days.
I really just wanted the track pad fixed.
But damn! I’m getting a new screen, keyboard, battery, trackpad and case. Basically the entire exterior of the laptop will be new and sexy.
Don’t say no apple, let’s just make out already. Kiss me.

honestly if other phones were as easy to use as iPhones i would switch for sure…
the customer service for apple has gone down really bad over the years
i backed up my data for my iPhone and the file was corrupted so i took it to the store, (as i had already restored my phone) i asked them what i can do and they couldn’t help me with anything. i was in the store for literally 2 hours trying to get help from someone (i did make an appointment) but i needed help for more other things. one of the guys were really rude and said you have to book an appointment for one on one training which is just bull!!!

Highly disorganized! Chaotic store with zero direction… longest lineups ever! People that are free to help send you to people who are super busy!

Customer service had not been improved since I complained back in 2011. Staff were not energize and unwelcome. If you really need to go to an apple store. Try Yorkdale location.

— used apple store app to flag for help. They should be notified. 1^st time they ignored my request after 3 minutes and they cancelled. I was standing in area the whole time and nobody called my name. 2^nd try, they finally realized it was not a joke and located me. After they started talking to me, immediately he was interrupted by another customer and asked me to wait again.
— asked for help on iPhone backup with iTunes. He obviously had no knowledge. He tried to locate help but unsuccessful. Instead of telling me he was not familiar he kept telling me what my unexpected experience with iTunes was impossible. He also added that it did not happen to himself and he had performed the similar operation hundred of times. I ended with him by saying I was not convinced. Then he said you would need to schedule a time with Genius and bring your Mac book air in because most likely your computer had issues.
— Then I asked to locate a product to purchase. He passed me to another staff who seemed to be exhausted after a day of work. I asked about the price discrepancy with the one showed on my apple store app compare the one in store. She searched around on her idevice and at the end, she basically told me she did not know why but just told me «probably» they were different products.

Very crowded at times and a lot of employees standing around talking to each other not regarding any of the customers. I like Apple products but not this store at times.

I am pissed because my appointment was at 7.10pm and the «genius» didn’t get to me until 7.35pm. I don’t like crowded places and waiting surrounded by people with an iPad in one hand and a Mac book in another seems kinda nightmareish…
Anyway, all I had to do was exchange by headphones and it took him a looong time to find a pair. Then when he did, it turned out they weren’t the ones I can use for talky talky. Another 40 min later I was done. 40 minutes!!!
BUT I do like this Apple Store better than the one at Eaton Center — it’s less crowded and the staff are nicer. When my phone broke they did everything super fast and efficient, and didn’t even bother trying to fix it, just gave me a new one. I’m ok with that! Plus the dude who served me was super cute :)
Obviously if you want apple products, you would probably go here because people can actually show you how to use them. I find that a lot of the staff are patient with the less technologically-​inclined crowd.

I was ignored, unloved and unwanted. Apple sales members (and there were plenty milling about talking to each other…) failed to recognize that I wanted to buy something. Realizing that service was negligible I discovered the item I wanted to buy on display all by myself but then had to figure out where to pay for it. This was difficult. I finally interrupted two salespeople who were engrossed in conversation. At checkout I was asked, «Are you sure you want to buy this? Do you understand what it is?» What a strange and bizarre retail experience.

Apple products are worth the price. I always receive great service and the products are built well.
What I don’t like is the attitude of the young staff they have. They feel they know more than customer, but I have proven them wrong many times. Nonetheless Apple is a quality brand.

Apple consistently stuns/​scares/​surprises me. For example, when I was having trouble with my second generation iPod Touch’s battery life, I called Apple. I fully expected the automated voice I had to deal with. What I didn’t expect was how they zapped me an email about the problem as soon as I hung up. It kinda scared me, seeing as I only told them my name and not my email. I guess they had it on file or something?
Anyway, I quickly booked an appointment with the Genius Bar at this location about the battery problem, seeing as how it was the day before my warranty was to expire. Upon arrival, I had to wait around 10 minutes past my appointment – it was Sunday afternoon and an absolute madhouse – but before long a nice «Genius» showed up. Within another 15 minutes, I was strolling out of the store with a shiny new replacement iPod Touch. No questions asked.
Now that’s customer satisfaction. My next computer shall be a Mac.

The first thing I always notice about the Apple store in ANY location in the smell. It’s a curious thing, akin to a unique distillate of unwashed socks, long nights spent gaming on couches of dubious origin, and the faint tinge of over-​caffeinated nervous sweat. It’s the scent of geek with a complimentary dash of the unwashed masses. I’m sure it’s secretly included in the «bottom notes» of most CK and DKNY fragrances.
Does this make me an elitist snob? Probably to some degree, but I assure you — it’s merely a thin veneer disguising my utter nerdliness that runs deep to the core. After all, who better to identify the very (fragrant) essence of high-​tech consumerness than a shadowy insider?
Okay, so on to the goods. Apple stores bring out certain qualities I’d prefer to pretend I don’t have. Like standing really close to people at the iPad or Iphone table and sending evil laser-​beam stares into their backs, hoping they will sense my oh-​so-​threatening presence and step aside so I can get my paws on the latest toy. PLAY!!!
This review does not reflect the Apple brand as much as the actual service and experience in the store. This review is actually a good example of how certain products make me cross over the line of civilized decorum into something else entirely. Must. Regain. Control.
On a side note, the staff can be hit and miss. I’d be tempted to critique the sometimes-​terrible service except that I noticed most of the staff are set upon by maniacally merciless customers. In some cases, the gleam of new technology in the eye supersedes any shred of dignity.
I think I should just order online.

There’s many reasons people buy Apple products. First, they’re well made, look cool and work as advertised. Secondly, they’re supported by a network of some of the finest retail stores and employees around.
I’ll quickly relate my experience at this particular store:
My sister’s Macbook got hung up on a software update one evening — she needed it for a presentation at school the next day. She made a Genius Bar appointment online for the same night — just before the store was scheduled to close. (The Genius Bar is the live customer support area in each store — you make an appointment in store or online and the Geniuses will help you out with whatever ails your Apple product.)
We went in at the appointed time and were greeted with a smile by a dedicated greeter. Then, greeted again by an attentive random employee halfway through the store. And then, greeted again at the Genius Bar by a happy-​to-​be-​there Apple Genius.
Within exactly 15 seconds of asking logical, intelligent questions, the Genius identified the problem with my sister’s laptop, pulled out a dedicated hard drive from behind the counter, connected it and began the fix process. Within exactly 20 minutes, my sister’s computer was back up and running. Not bad, right? I’d like to see any other PC manufacturer do nearly as well. Ain’t gonna happen, folks.
THEN things got even better. I’d brought my Macbook Pro, whose battery wasn’t lasting as long as it should, a year and a half after buying it. The Genius checked to see whether my laptop was in warranty or under AppleCare (their extended warranty) — and even though batteries are not technically covered under warranty, she went over to the shelf and gave me a brand-​new battery at no charge, rightly recognizing that an ecstatic customer likely to buy from them again was worth the 80 bucks the battery probably cost Apple.
I left the store in tears of joy and with a big, dumb smile on my face, as if I’d won the lottery.
THIS IS WHY PEOPLE BUY APPLE PRODUCTS. Why do so few companies get it right — and how does Apple get it right so effortlessly?
