I come here occasionally because the service you’ll receive is MUCH better than the other two downtown Brooks Brothers locations in Yorkville and RBC. Perhaps it’s because the staff are younger fellows who are generally pretty cool? I made several(happy) purchases here. The store itself is small and seems to carry mainly the Red Fleece stuff, but you can get them to order in anything you see from their website, so that’s a plus.

I kind of don’t understand the target group for this brand in Canada. They are between a rock and a hard place IMO as they are trying for a premium brand while their smart/casual line is more comparable to Banana Republic(a lot less $$) in terms of design. That explains the consistent sales they have whenever I pass by their flagship location. This location is more geared towards the college going crowd which is kinda strange as their prices are anything but student budget friendly. They get enough business with close proximity to the Mink Mile I suppose. On to the styling hmm I don’t know what to say it is geared towards being prim and proper to the hilt. Think people wearing stripes, slim fit jackets and even bow ties. I would say a cross between a country club and an elite prep school. If you like that design theme this place might appeal to you.

A new store has popped up on the corner of St. George and Bloor. You’ll recognize it as you’ll see some well dressed college boys handing out flyers and party pumping music. Seems like a strange location, across from the Bata shoe Museum and beside a random drug store, but actually it might be very well placed. This ‘collegiate’ concept store, is the epitome of preppy. Boat shoes, skinny shorts, over the shoulder rugby shirts, cardigan for women. Seems like they are geared towards the preppy frat boy(and located near a bunch of frat houses) and the young, rich yacht types(and located near the Royal Yacht Club) That’s my take on it anyhow. I think the store would have done just as well in the Yorkville, but could attract a different crowd based here. The price point is a bit higher BR or JCrew eg. Shorts($ 99). Except more conveniently located
