Love this store! I lived nearby for 3 years, but I never stopped in as I had no reason to buy menswear. I was actually sent here on a mystery shopping assignment so I finally had to chance to scope it out. The have a wide variety of high end suits, mens dress shirts, pants and accessories(ties, belts, cufflinks, etc). The prominent brands here seem to be Eton and SAND. Everything is displayed by colour here, brands are mixed around but assembled in eye-pleasing displays. The owner was there and she was exceptionally knowledgeable about all the merchandise, which made the shopping experience top-notch. They have a basement room where they do custom tailoring and adjustments. Great place to purchase something very high end(we’re talking dress shirts as high as $ 300) but very unique. Harry Rosen doesn’t carry any of this stuff. A lot of the colours and patterns are WILD(think flaming homosexual) but there is a great selection of more neutral looking stuff too.

second, yes good quality stuff. third, the sales people here are kinda goofy. they generally ignore me when i stop by to look at the merchandise. swilling beer and listening to the stones is way more fun. otherwise, esp. if the pricing was good, this would be the kind of place i would shop.

Theodore 1922 is a high-end men’s clothing store in the Annex. In between all the used book stores it’s a little out of place but I love going there. They are very helpful and clearly know and care about clothing and fashion. The clothing is expensive and you are obviously paying more for the expertise, dedicated service and to support a small business. The clothing ranges from conservative(navy blue suits) to very fashion-forward(exotic patterned shirts). Prices are much more reasonable during the sales, usually twice a year. There is obviously a bit of sales pressure but its not overwhelming and the experience is always positive.

Yay im a fan of their style here. it can be quite exquisite, no doubt. these mens clothes range from being quite elegant in cut and chosen fabric, to being bold in style and colour — think oranges, purples, lapels with different coloured piping. the shirts have wide strong collars — not wide seventies style, but not measly and thin so theyll curl up at the ends or look funny with a tie. any accessory you are looking for you will find here for the man. their cufflinks are especially fun and yet again, bold. though im sure that their clothes are good quality(you can feel it in the fabric, see it in the stitching, etc.) and things of quality cost more money, it still seems exorbitant in price. this in fact is the way they market themselves. their philosophy(pretty funny to use this word) on their website states that they combine old world service with modern luxury design. thats fancy for saying youll have a knowledgeable salesperson telling you information about their clothes. they can also do custom tailoring for you. um, kind of like a tailor. also, when i was there, it took a little while for someone to address me; he was busy catfighting with a couple other women there. id say, if you are going to go full illusion, full fantasy, add a cappucino machine inside, and serve it up man. again, there clothes are BEAUTIFUL. i would love to wear lots of them. id be a hypocrite to say otherwise. but would i pay this much money? if i was open enough with myself to admit that im buying for my ego, then yes. for the male fashion whore in you this is the crème fraîche baby.
