Great little place with very yummy muffins, great coffee and nice staff. Its a little place in the heart of the«Junction Triangle» that is great. Really reminded me of a place I frequented in Brooklyn except with muffins instead of Donuts. I’m excited to try the Nutella Latte.

Always friendly service with some really cool latte and other drink options. Obviously, if you go here you need to try the Nutella latte, they’ll even do it iced for you! This is a great under the radar coffee shop that is sort of hidden away in the Junction triangle. Check it out Unilocalers!

This is a cute place but is clearly tied together on a shoestring. If you want the area to change, you need to try harder. You won’t scare the likes of your horrendous neighbors by simply meeting the status quo. Café con leche– please show us something more exciting.

Their Nutella latte is worth the trip! I love to have con leche on my Sunday schedule. I would go every so say for a Nutella Latte as it adds for a good cheat day treat! Best part is that they let you pick the spoon!

COFFEE /FOOD /TASTE: We tried the Nutella coffee and it was really good, not too sweet. we also tried their special, it was the Mexican grilled cheese sandwich. It was amazing, it had avocado, some special ham/sausage and the real mecian cheese(probably Oaxaca). My husband loved it that much that he ordered a second one. We also tried the pastries, they were very good. Same with the No.7 hot sauce, my husband loved the variety and got one of those. PRICE: Average. SERVICE: Excelent. Very friendly people, both owners suggested what we should try and they even gave us a small bag of caramel popcorn for our daguhter(VERNICEOFTHEM). SPACE: Although it could be a little tiny, it’s good to sit down and read a magazine or kids books. Our 2 year old daughter was entertained while we ate. That’s totally a plus! VERDICT: Definitely coming back. P. S. Parking could be difficult to find on the street.

This place is great if you’re looking for a pick me up in the morning. They have a great number of drinks on their menu and their coffee is great. They are the home of the famous Nutella Latté($ 4.25) and most regular drinks are at least $ 3 or so. Not a big difference from Starbucks to be honest and the drinks here are made with care. Super friendly staff and even when they are swamped they get the job done quick. The baked goods are pretty delicious as well and I believe they are ordered from Café Jules, rather than made in house. They also offer almond milk, which is a great alternative to regular milk for those that enjoy drinking it. Overall a very nice café in the area, and you need to try it out!

Great little place that I chaced upon while I had and hour to kill in this part of the city. These guys are very obviously proud of their nutella latte, which I wasn’t in the mood for but I’m sure it’s great in every regard. The entire back wall is lined with bucket-size cans of Nutella. The WiFi password is, of course, «nutellahq» LOL. My fouble shot Americano was very good: think, bitter, and with a bit of oakiness in the aftertaste. The staff were extremely helpful and accomodating. It’s obvious the place favoured by local regulars. People come in with laptops and kid strollers and engage in conversations. They take your order and then bring the stuff to your table. The décor is simple, almost industrial. Of the negatives there are two: The wifi didn’t work very well for me(could be my laptop though as there some routers it does like very much) The fridge is the middle of the store that holds sandwiches and cold drinks generates quite a bit of noise in a very small space. Not a rediculous level but after some time it starts to get to you. A mom has just walked in with a 3 year old and guess what, next to the pile of magazines there is an ever bigger pile of childen’s books! Now she’s reading Little Whale’s Song to her daughter ;)

The owners are very nice, the coffee is delicious and the patisseries come from Café Jules, which is the best french bakery in Toronto(along with Pain Perdu). I recently tried their Popsicles: they come directly from heaven! And they’ve been working on more hot sauce. They make the perfect birthday or Xmas gifts under $ 10.

Went into the Café On Leche today. The atmosphere was great, but the service not so. There was a blonde, slightly heavy girl working around the afternoon. I asked for a medium coffee and a pastry, on which she responded by showing me a half of cup of coffee, saying: «sorry that’s all I have, would u like me to brew you some more?» I responded with a smile«that should be enough I think». Curiosity struck me why an employee of an upper end café would ask me such a silly question? I mean, what if Starbucks employees were to inform customers that they didn’t feel like brewing more coffee? After all, people go out of their way to visit Café on Leche. After she cashed me out, she grabbed her plate of food and started eating behind the counter… Well, my overall experience was not the best, but the employer has to train his/her staff better. ;)

Note: Not really a good place for laptop work. Internet speed was inconsistent and it took forever for me to just do regular surfin’. I think more of the outlets were towards the back of café where it was a bit darker. Front door was kept open, so it was a bit loud with traffic whizzin’ by. Café Con Leche is a new-ish, smaller café in a slowly gentrifying part, just north of The Junction. I think it opened in ’12. The businesses surrounding it seemed to be more neighbourhood-y, rather than happenin’ places with a lot of foot traffic. Lots of places also seemed to be closed on a Sunday afternoon. I had their Nutella Latté($ 4.25) which was pretty good… even though I’m not that big of a fan of hazelnut spread. I just wanted to try it since they seem to be known for it. Prices were a bit on the higher side with a small latté around $ 3.75. Overall, Café Con Leche seems to be the only indie café that serves this up ‘n coming area. So it’s probably frequented by the local residents as opposed to people who go in to study. It’s more of a grab ‘n go type place as opposed to somewhere you’d sit ‘n linger.

1. Friendly staff! :-D 2. Delicious coffee and 3. Yummy pastries One of the rare café’s that offer Almond ‘milk’ as an alternative to milk. I had a delicious Nutella Late with a blueberry custard danish. Danish was delicious and reasonably priced. my mother is quite picky when it comes to café’s but enjoyed the coffee and croissant. I recommend this place as a nice comfortable hang out.

The Junction Triangle sure needed a place like this, and I’m happy to see this stretch of Dupont begin to liven up. In the two years that I’ve been living in this area, good coffee and a cozy café like this one were basically non-existent. Café Con Leche is owned by a sweet and adorable couple who are super-friendly and very welcoming. I will always remember the one evening when Carlos(one of the owners) stopped traffic in the midst of Snowmageddon, so that my friend and I could cross the street to get lattes. Their specialty is the Nutella latte — it’s a must try! Aside from coffee and lattes, the place offers scrumptious pastries including their famous Nutella donut.(They are very big on their Nutella love!) The shop offers free WiFi, so it’s also a great place to get some work done. I will miss being able to visit this shop as often when I move out of the neighbourhood. It’s worth the bus ride to check out though, so I will be sure to pay my visits.

This is one of my two coffee shop«offices». I come over here even though there are places closer to where I live. What I like about it: –This neighbourhood needed a place like this. –The owners are fantastic. They care about the space, the product and the customers. –The coffee is tasty and the owners work with great suppliers. –The space is welcoming. –Free WiFi. –It’s quiet, good for working. –Customers talk to each other and the owners are always happy to make introductions, not like crowded place where everyone has their head down. I’ve done some good networking here. What makes me sad: No food except pastries. It’s a deliberate choice, one I don’t bear any resentment about. The focus is on the quality of the coffee. This means that new food places need to open up nearby. If you’re a freelancer, it’s worth a visit during the day. No car? The Dupont bus stops half a block away and the Symington bus comes up from Dundas West station. You must visit.

You know what gets me right out of a Unilocaling lull? Finding a hidden gem! If you live in this area, you know that good coffee shops on the Dupont strip are few and far between; your options are essentially to walk further west to the Junction or all the way down to Brockton Village. Needless to say, when I saw Café Con Leche, I was super excited to finally have a caffeine oasis in my hood. I first spotted this cute coffee shop on my way to the library on Dupont(three doors down). As I walked past the large bay window, one of the owners Carlos waved and smiled at me… I took this as a sign that this place had a good community vibe. After my literary binge at the library I swung back on my tracks and went in for a drink. I ordered the peppermint tea which tastes just like the Moroccan style tea I’ve had at Sultan’s Tent(in other words super delicious). The next time I came to this spot, I ordered their AMAZING Nutella Latte which is exactly what is sounds like… a latte made with dollops of Nutella. I am pretty sensitive to super sweet flavours and I was pleasantly surprised how the Nutella provided just enough sweetness, without overpowering the drink. As for the food, I was not as crazy about the ham croissant as I was on the scones, but both are quite good. Overall I really enjoy coming here. The Wi-Fi is reliable, the prices are fair and reasonable and the owners, Sandra & Carlos(and Afante the Intern) are always warm and personable.
