There were 3 food items on the menu. Two flavours of wings and fries. I’m glad there were only 3 choices so we could try everything and I think a pop-up should make fewer items and focus on doing them well. Overall, I liked the wings, but those fries were fried just right. Soy garlic(small) — $ 13 There was a good amount of meat and it was moist. The double-fried batter was crispy and not greasy. Fiery pepper(small) — $ 13 Of the 2 kinds of wings, I liked this one more because of the bit of kick The slaw was light which balanced the stronger flavours of the chicken. I’m not a big fan of mooli mooli but I ate some anyway so I wouldn’t get flavour fatigue. Togarashi fries — $ 6 I really like thin fries. I also prefer dipping my fries in mayo so I definitely enjoyed this combo. The garlic, shallots along with the togarashi spice added an aromatic mix of flavours and the spicy mayo rounded out everything nicely.

First, this is a popup restaurant opened for 3 days only(Apr 8 – 10) in the location where the current restaurant Elle M’a Dit resides. So, today is the last day. This location also might change or be another restaurant should you arrive. And this was reservations only, though I’ve never tried walking up. With that said, there might be hope as this appears to be a test event, the questionnaire implied I may be contacted for future events from this establishment. So here’s the deal, it seems like the partners want to see how well received and what works and what does not their concept is. I like this idea for aspiring restauranteurs. I have an idea or concept for a restaurant, I want see how well received it is, works out any kinks, see what it’s like to have my own restaurant. So I open a temporary one, I get a feel of the good(ex: people like my food), the bad(ex: cancellations) and the ugly(ex: bad tips). The food, two types of sauces with the chicken wings: soy garlic and fiery peppery sauce. I liked the fiery peppery sauce more, it just had a lot of flavor, was hot but not like burning dripping oil hot. The soy garlic was solid as well. The one thing about the sauce is it was flavorful, but I didn’t get all this sauce all over my mouth, perhaps because of some double frying action. Price was $ 13 for about 9 wings or $ 22 for about 16 wings which I found just slightly above average for wings, but not absorbent. The wings were served with some picked mooli-mooli(read Radish) and some asian slaw, was decent. The wings were quite juicy and fell off bone quite easily, that’s a plus. The fries for $ 6 was about McDonalds flavor/cut fries with fried garlic and shallots on top with some spicy mayo. They were good, I wish the fried garlic and shallots stuck to my fries though. Perhaps I should have went sauce them garlic/shallots instead of other way around. The staff was pretty nice, girl introduced herself at the door by name, making me feel like I was her friend which was nice. They were helpful in getting things when seated(water, more beer, napkins etc). Overall, I think it’s worth a try. I’d like to get just a bit more flavor out of the wings. One thing I noticed were the wings were all different sizes and had different flavor intensity levels. I guess maybe that makes me feel like I’m eating at home and not some cookie cutter restaurant with processed chicken.
