My boyfriend and I stayed here over new years eve because it was the cheapest location we could find. We were alittle sketched out and even brought our own sheets and blankets. When we got there I gave the front desk a hard time about the $ 50 key deposit but he handled it very well and the staff was very helpful and friendly despite my original frustrations. We walked in to the room skeptical but to our surprise it was VERY CLEAN. Obviously a simple room but it worked very well for us. GREAT location about two blocks from the Eaton center. Great little places surrounding. It was a quiet stay in room 201. We loved it! Definitely going to stay again when we come back in to town

I found Filmores Hotel on accident last fall while in town for the Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Staying here reminded me of the good old days when I lived at the downtown Duluth (Minn) YWCA. Clean, close to everything, laid back desk staff, and now I’m back for a while. If I could, I’d move in — its just the right, size for me, and I feel safe here. And no, I don’t watch the girls, in fact I always get a laugh when I mention I’m a gay guy staying above a topless lounge — if I wasn’t gay I’m sure this place would be paradise for any straight man or sexually confused woman.
I’ll be back whenever I need a place to stay downtown.
