I just bought a black maxi dress that was discounted to $ 20, and a sweater. I left the store and was questioning the total cost of my items because it came to higher than anticipated, and realized the owner of the store has charged me $ 29 instead. I didn’t notice initially because as she was ringing it up, I was looking at other clothes. Naturally all the tags are taken off so I have no proof of the increased price. There are so many excellent consignment stores in Toronto — stick to those with honest practices!

I brought in some clothing to sell on consignment. I thought I was going to earn a profit of 60% while the store would earn 40%. It was actually the contrary. I only earned 40% of my purchase. I was also not notified that my products would go on sale and be sold at an additional 50% off. As a result, I made barely any money on something they were supposed to sell for $ 200.00. I would have been better off trying to sell the product online. In addition, when you go to pick up your product, you have to browse the store to find everything you dropped off. That is quite challenging. If you are going to leave product here, I recommend that you take photos of everything before you leave so you know what to look for if it doesn’t sell.
