I find it disturbing that for the cost of(cooked) food offered(which is fresh and creative), the items are served on carcinogen Styrofoam and WORSE, they heat up on request, on Styrofoam in the microwave. A plastic plate at thedollar store would be better for the microwave, a $ 5 ceramic plate even a better option, and they can recycle that, you only need 2 – 3 plates! Its ironic the amount of hipster shoppers with lulu lemon garb who love this place but are fine with the Styrofoam plates! «Maybe its just me»!!!

I usually wouldn’t bother reviewing a chain like this but since I started working nearby, I come here all the time and love everything! The store is nice, has so many cool products from small companies(including tons of cool drinks, mixes, and bitters for cocktails). Also I’ve eaten like 2 of their pre-made wraps a week. So good.

Fresh & Wild and Overpriced. To not get redundant, let’s say it’ll cost you a pretty penny. Highway robbery. An arm and a leg. It’s like Whole Food’s short, small and ugly sister that you can’t help but be friends with. That’s if you’re dangerously close to this spot and desperate to get some lunch. I don’t find the staff rude at all; the«dairy guy» is always so cheerful and feels my pain when they’re out of Liberte yoghurt. The staff behind the hot food bar are also pleasant. But let’s just call a spade a spade. Their produce section sucks. It fels like you’re getting utterly jipped paying for rotten kumatos. Is there no quality control here? Their hot food/salad bar has some good finds, such as the kalette and butternut squash salad. Their«snacks» and special gluten-free goodies are also a good find. For example, they sell Nomz(paleo nut balls) which will set you back $ 8. You’ll find interesting and easy access to a plethora of goods like nut butters, nuts, specialty crackers, sauces, condiments – whatever your millenial heart desires. The chicken breasts, especially the greek/kale stuffed ones are quite delicious. As for the salmon – I wouldn’t do it.

Great Chili and take out food, can’t vouch for using it as a grocer but they do a great jog for healthy and not too expensive lunches.

All I asked the cashier was where is the jelly for the cheese and I got such attitude that I left the cheese, walked out and never looked back. This store is far too expensive to give attitude to customers. China Town is much, much cheaper, and yes, they have attitude. But that’s OK, because their items are cheap, but not Fresh & Wild. You charge me a crap load of money, you be nice to me, OK?

This place rivals Whole Foods in Yorkville for steep prices but without a massive selection or food bar. What gives? Walk a little further down Spadina and go to the Metro in the City Place condos; slightly less expensive and slightly more expansive. Or, head north-west to the newer Loblaws at Bathurst & Queen.

Really liked shopping here: picked up 100 grams of prosciutto, a fresh baguette, a liter of Orangina and a hunk of manchego cheese. It’s crowded store of yummy items, like hard to find candies, dry pasta, fresh meats and coldcuts

The ONLY reason to shop here is if you’re in a bind and need an ingredient for dinner. I have frequented this grocery store for over a year and a half, and am disappointed over and over. Mouldy sweet potatoes, old lettuce, the list goes on. Not to mention everything is overpriced. They have some solid random preserves that you couldn’t really get anywhere else in this area. Sidenote, I live in a condo building behind the store and about once a month they do illegal construction work in the alley at midnight. Using bandsaws echoing off of every tower. Cops have been called multiple times but they don’t give a crap.

The pros of this place are that you’ll find things that are hard to find at other normal grocery stores and that produce really is fresh *special shout out to sushi grade tuna that is hard to find* The cons are that it’s on the slightly expensive side of the price spectrum and the store itself is a chaotic mess, trying to pack an entire supermarket at the corner of spadina and king. Also, if you’re driving down here, DON’T

I bought a deal where I got a $ 30 voucher for this place for $ 15. My $ 15 worth of groceries came to $ 30, so I used my voucher. Overall I broke even. The pics on their website are of the only 2 organized looking spots in the store. Otherwise, the layout resembles a Chinese dollar store.

For the price Fresh & Wild charging, I expected a lot… But this place is such a mess… everything looks so disorganized and the staffs just giving me the eye… Come if you absolutely don’t want to travel or walk a little further… and if you have special dietary need. But I would rather pay for TTC to shop somewhere else and still be ahead!

I used to come here when they first opened all the time. The mix of being able to pick up lunch to eat either here or take out is great as well as a little market to pick up things for home — mind you the food is more expensive, but it is convenient after all. Their fresh fruit and veggie are OK — pricey ! The fish & meat is wonderful and the pastries are fantastic. The reason why I came in this morning is for coffee. The staff great and they make a good espresso ! In the summer, they have a great patio as well.

I only ever really come here when I need a gourmet cheese, or a Christmas tree. The Bad: Fresh and Wild is generally overpriced — by a LOT. Especially when you could go to Shoppers a block away and get the same bread and boxed products They often have expired canned and boxed goods I have seen rotten fruit at this location on many occasions The Good: Pre-packaged wraps and sandwiches are decent Good selection of local and gourmet cheese Fresh bread from Ace Bakery Organic frozen goods I would much rather go to a Loblaws, but this store works in a pinch.

FRESH attitudes and WILD pricing. I head to Fresh & Wild every time I feel like being verbally abused by a douchey cashier whilst paying $ 6 for a green pepper. Seriously. Fine…rip people off by charging exorbitant prices for mediocre grocery products. But at least do it with a smile on your face. Clearly location is everything.

I shop at Fresh and Wild on a pretty regular basis. I agree with other Unilocalers that it is a bit pricey, but the selection of different foods is pretty great. You can get protein bars of every variety, gluten free food, and also some of their prepared items are pretty good and different. For example, Salmon Spaghetti — it’s pretty tasty and a nice change from the other more traditional offerings. Not smothered in cheese and sauces. They also carry a wide offering of yogurts and drinks, including organic, probiotic — finally a place that has a wide selection in this area and fresh juices! So if you are at Spadina and King — check it out! BTW — I noticed yesterday that they have the cutest little Christmas trees — real ones — perfect for smaller homes and condos!

The reason this place gets 2 stars is it carries gluten free products both fresh and frozen. Not a ton but it’s a start. Other than that, if you see this place run a different direction if you can. Like my other Unilocalers, I completely agree on this place being overpriced. I shop because it’s so convenient. Totally feeds into my laziness because it’s right where my bus stop home is. So when I forget I absolutely need one thing or another it really makes me upset to buy from Fresh and Wild. All I will say, my friends, I have never paid as much as I did for a red onion in my life!!!
