This is a review of the hurricane machine located in the The Beaches Alliance Cinema. I think it would be unfair if I rated the cinema based on my experience in the Hurricane Machine. The Hurricane Machine is supposed to give you the feeling that you’re standing in the middle of a hurricane. I’m from Nova Scotia and experienced a few in my day, so I was expecting something great. To use the machine, you open the front clear door and stand inside a space just large enough to stand. You pay the $ 2 and immediately things start happening. It was kind of cool that as the wind starts to blow, there is a little television screen that says how fast the wind is travelling. However, it didn’t feel anything like a hurricane. The wind enters the machine from a little hole in the top, so you need to stand underneath that hole to feel anything, the wind only went up to 70mph, I was expecting to at least be pushed around by it, and there was no rain. What kind of hurricane doesn’t have rain. Anyways, it was not great. Waste of $ 2.
