HY Lounge

Great place to hang out with friend and get some drinks. Hookah wasn’t bad, but they used insta-​lite charcoals which aren’t as good as the coco-​Nara coals that the Arabian places tend to use. Drinks are very fairly priced (especially with the current USD to CAD exchange rates :))

I live closeby and the drinks are relatively cheap, the only reasons you’d want to be here.
A) music is so loud at the bar that after one round I learnt a good amount of sign language and lip reading.
B) The kitchen here is basically a T– fal actifry. Be prepared to wait 30 mins for your soggy fries or wedges.
C) Because the drinks are relatively cheaper — the place also attracts some iffy crowd.
D) the owner for some reason chooses to hire these obnoxious Asian women who have no idea what they are serving.
E) I had four beers and 2 shots and the lady shows me a bill for 5 beers and 4 shots — I know how to handle my alcohol and corrected her but I wonder how many guys don’t realize the scam.

I’ve been here once on a Friday night and I absolutely love the atmosphere! I requested for my favourite jam at a live DJ booth at the corner and surprisingly they have my song. The DJ was glad to play my song with a thumbs up!
Hy Lounge is awesome for their shisha and drinks. Edward and Angelica was awesome!

VERY VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! One of the worst bar I have ever been to. They claim their self as a hookah bar but they totally don’t know how to make it. Behaviour of owner is very rude. This guy really don’t know how to maintain & talk to customer. Asap u go inside the bar you can tell they don’t do business well. I recommend everyone not to go there.

I’ve only been to this place twice and I have to conclude that I won’t be visiting again.
This is mainly due to poor service.
During my first visit, I ordered a second glass of Shiraz and our server brought me a different type of wine which she claimed to be Shiraz. I told her that this wasn’t it and she took it away and served me the Shiraz.
My friends asked for beers a couple of times before it came. We also asked for cups and a bottle of chaser a couple of times before it came. The worst was when we ordered Sheesa. We kept having to remind her and in the end, it never came. Luckily, the manager was there and she was nice enough to put the server’s mistakes on the house for us.
As for my second visit, service was again poor. We had a different server this time and we still had to repeatedly remind her about our drinks. Moreover, when we got our bill, we were charged with an extra bottle of Yellow Tail Shiraz that we never ordered… Just make sure to check your bill before paying!!!

This may be a moderately biased review because I used to be a resident DJ at HY lounge, but if you see past the fact that I get paid to be there and see that I have a different perspective of the entire lounge while the staff are doing their thing, this review might be useful.
The lounge itself isn’t the largest place in town, but conveniently located at Yonge and Sheppard surrounded by condos so I know there must be some people out there looking for a local spot to have fun.
Highlight of HY Lounge? The staff. Guys, if you want to be served by some gorgeous girls… try this place out. On top of having a fleet of models to serve you beer, cocktails, shesha, and snacks… the HY Lounge girls are seriously dedicated to making sure you are taken care of and happy during your visit. I sit at the front of the house near the window every Firday and Saturday and watch the place pack up and the girls are all over the place making things work.
They also come up with new shots almost weekly and if you’re in the right place at the right time, demo shots for the customers on the house to get a feel for if the new shot will stick around.
Other highlights are live DJs every Friday and Saturday (some holidays too), a Karaōke room in the back that you can use during the week or even book for a party. In fact, you can book the entire lounge if you had a large enough party.

Hy lounge is my favourtie neighbourhood bar! There’s a a close community between all the regulars and the amazing servers. Shout out to the manager, Angelica, for making our experience at hy longe fun every time. Not only she’s super attentive to us when she’s not even our server, she took care of the food that the kitchen messed up.
They’re very generous with their drinks here. If you order a shot on the rocks, the glass will fill to the top you question whether you mistakenly order a double instead.
The resident DJ is amazing. Nothing beats cheap beer, good music, shisha and a good game of darts!

Great atmosphere, servers are nice. Shisha, drinks, dart machine & dice games… Musics great and they usually play any sports games on their TVs. Very bar-​like environment. ⁴⁄₅ only because the quality of the Shisha is not comparable to aladdins (in Mississauga) or hookahs at home, as there’s not as much flavor in the flavored tobacco itself. I’m a regular just because of the atmosphere. I drive about 25 minutes to get there just because its the best place thus far, its chill and always a great time.

Been going here for quite some time now. Every time I’m here all the staff know exactly what I drink and are generous in the liquor department. Francis and Karen are very friendly and make this place one of my regular bars in the area to visit.
Busiest night is Saturday, but I usually go during the work week to just have a few and chill. Recently they have added 2 electronic dart game machines.

I prefer HY Lounge over to the Persian shisha bars across the street. They make decent cocktails and don’t pack people like sardines. The bartender is very friendly and knows his way around the bar.
If I remember correctly, shisha is around $ 14 and cocktails/​martinis range from $ 5.50 to $ 7.50. On Fridays they have a rum and coke special for $ 3.99.
They have a very limited menu for finger foods e.g. taquitos and mozzarella balls but since they don’t have a kitchen, it comes right from the bar (possibly microwaved). For that reason, I don’t recommend the food at all.
Verdict:
The place is sort of run-​down but unfortunately, it is one of the only places in the area that is dedicated to serving good drink.

I used to come here a lot before, but their service has been reduced somewhat recently and you’re not given that smile or going the extra mile anymore. Small portion drinks for the price. Its a nice place for dates but not firsts. 2.5 starts. FYI: there’s any option for food here, it’s just drinks and shisha (hooka)

Hy Lounge is one of the mysterious places I wondered about for quite some time before finally venturing inside to see what it’s all about.
To begin, a ‘cocktail’ lounge is quite uncommon for the uptown area unless one considers Milestone’s or the local pub to fall under that category. That being said, hookah which is the other specialty of Hy Lounge is not an anomaly by any means. This would make one assume that they would serve decent hookah to keep up with the competition. If you walk in with this assumption as I did, prepare to be disappointed! Unfortunately Hy Lounge serves up some of the worst Shisha I have ever tried. We ordered 3 for the group and all 3 were below standard.
On to the drinks, the cocktails were all around well received and I even found my own order of blueberry tea spiked with Grand Marnier and Amaretto to be well balanced and very suitable for winter (also only slightly more expensive than Starbucks at $ 4/​tea)!
In fact the variety and price of the drinks offered definitely raise the rating of Hy Lounge and salvage what would have been an otherwise poor experience!
The venue itself is alright and can use some maintenance/​cleaning. There is a back area with larger tables for bigger groups and a decent space if you are looking to catch up with friends.
The service is a bit mixed but overall satisfactory. The manager and a few guys who work at Hy put in a great effort to make this an overall satisfactory experience.
Give Hy a thought if you are in the area and want to grab a quick drink but forget about the hookah.
