After trips to Yorkville for overpriced, sad haircuts I was shockingly surprised when a friend reccomended Linus Inc. Luke is amazing and knows hair better than anyone else I have ever been to. Rya and Bella are great too and do great color treatments. I have never left the salon not ecstatic about my new hair. They take the time to consult with you over what you want and what is best for your hair. Luke is truly exceptional.

Went for a much needed haircut/hair makeover after a bad haircut I had gotten at another salon. I ended up with the best haircut I have ever received! Bella was my stylist and she listened to everything I wanted(keeping the length, getting some volume at the top), and she did it all! I was extremely impressed with her skills. I also really enjoyed the vibe of the place– very relaxed, good music, and friendly staff. This is my new permament hair salon! Thank you so much! I would highly recommend this place!

I was on the hunt for a place it the city that didn’t charge $ 65+ for a hair cut and Linus Inc fit the bill. It was actually my second time there, and I should note that I did NOT like my hair cut the first time(it was cut by a stylist named Robin). But I wanted a good haircut on a budget, and I thought I’d give it another try with a different stylist. This time Rya cut my hair I LOVE the cut. I went from shoulder length hair to an angled, textured, layered chin-length bob. She cut it a bit shorter than what I had asked, but I am actually happy that she did(not something j would normally say in this case!) I came prepared with a bunch of pictures, and although the cut I ended up with is slightly different than what I envisioned, it is perfect. Rya was also quite nice and pleasant during my appointment. Before I got it cut I had shoulder length hair, and for that length of hair the cut was $ 42.50 + tax. For a great cut in Toronto… It’s such a steal!!! With tax and 15% tip it came to about $ 54. I should also note that I had tried other cheaper haircut options I found on Unilocal(like Maya Salon), but wasn’t as happy with the results, as I am this time around with Rya. I’m happy I gave Linus Inc a second chance. PS: This is actually my first ever Unilocal review, and it is a direct result of how much I love the cut.

Listen, Linus Inc. is super cool. Robin did my hair and the chatty valley girl in me died and went to heaven because Robin is beyond cool and we spoke in the same language(accent). Linus also has AMAZINGMUSIC. It’s at the perfect volume, its eclectic, and you wont hear shit like super OOOONTZOOONTTZZ tunes. I heard the likes of Radiohead, & Bjork, and I was like, yus, this place is the shiznit. She asked me a lot about my hair and kinda compiled a hair history for me, which I really appreciated because she obviously cares about what she does and her clients. Despite coming in for in for a quick look change(Bettie Page bangs and a light trim), Robin communicated with me tons. I also got a wash and blow dry. I really love my bangs and she cut them exactly how I asked her to and I have been receiving so many compliments on me new look. However, man oh man, I was a little bummed when she rang me up for $ 62. She did an amazing job though! And I told myself«ANNA, YOUARE A GROWNWOMAN, GONEARETHEDAYSOFPAYING20BUCKSFOR A BASEMENTBARGAINSALONHAIRCUT. FORKOVERTHEDOUGHANDSHUTUPWITYOSTINGEYASS.» But still, it hurt to pay 60 bucks for bangs, a trim and a blow out. Ah well. But serious, they know their shit here. They don’t play around.

For my first haircut in Toronto, I found this salon to a very cool, very affordable joint. Luke, the owner, gave me a great hair cut and as well as some excellent natural tips to prevent hair loss. The place is also very cool — the art on the wall is neat and warrants a second glance.

I love both Luke and Robin at Linus Salon. I used to see Luke years ago when he was near Yonge and Wellesley, and was so happy to hear he had opened a place in the west end. He wasn’t available the day I went in, so Robin did my hair instead, and she was amazing. She really listened to what I wanted, and also worked with my hair’s natural tendencies(which are quite wild at times: my hair is a combination of curly, kinky and straight, all in different places, and most hairdressers just throw up their hands. It’s nice to find someone who actually appreciates my hair, and enjoys the challenge of cutting it). The look was chic and soft, and I got a lot of compliments. One friend even called it «spectacular». I have very short hair, so a bonus for me has been how well it’s grown out.

I’ve been looking for a hair salon in my neighbourhood that could match my experiences downtown. With a small one and another on the way, I don’t have time to commute 45 minutes each way just to get my hair cut. Plus with daycare costs, my $ 100 hair cut days are over(sniff). Linus makes it all good: two minute walk from home, very reasonable prices(and fair — no gendered pricing here), and no compromise — I still get a great cut and experience! On my first visit, Luke spent lots of time getting to know me and what I wanted out of my hair cut. Then, he spent almost two hours, cutting and chatting. Best of all, Linus is a company working hard to improve our little patch of College St.(and doing so successfully!) I highly recommend Linus — support local businesses without compromising!

I’d recently lost my regular stylist and was on the hunt for a new one. My search led me to Linus Inc, based on the reviews I’ve read, I was pretty optimistic about my expectations. And I’m thrilled with the results. I was immediately greeted when I came in the door. I had made the appointment with Robin, but Luke(who greeted me) knew the situation and was asking helpful questions about what I wanted/needed from the appointment. Robin was totally awesome! The consultation was one of the most thorough I’ve ever had. We discussed every aspect of what I’d been doing for the last few months, and what I wanted to do in the future. She walked me through what she thought was the best solution for my major colour correction. And she did it, perfectly! It’s a really relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere, like you’re a friend stopping by for a chat. And the music? It really is that great — Led Zeppelin, obscure Pulp, Kate Bush, everything. Considering how complex my situation was, I was so surprised that it was: a) so quick, and b) so affordable I honestly expected to be $ 100 more than what I was charged. I couldn’t believe it! I found the one awesome, affordable salon in the city — AND it’s in my neighbourhood. It’s one of the best experiences and values in the city — Period.
