I went to visit here with some people from out of town. I really didn’t see the point, it was pretty minimalist, there was some clothing that was overpriced because it had an owl on it. This store seems so pointless, and the only reason I can see anyone being interested in it is because of the hype from drake. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good or great.

It’s a minimalist street wear store off of OVO(Drake’s label/brand). When we went, there was a security guard /doorman who slowly let people into the store — perhaps so the store is manageable, creates a buzz, creates a line, in a not too busy street. This isn’t Supreme or Bathing Ape or even Stussy. If you’re looking for OVO /Drake quotes and logos on your sweatshirt or t-shirts iphone covers and hats and want to support something made in Canada… this is the store for you. Most of the designs seem like college campus inspired but you’ll end up paying $ 50 for a t-shirt or $ 100 for a sweatshirt.

I had to visit the OVO store. The store itself is very small, with a minimalistic look. The web store has more items than the retail store, its different shopping experience in person. I actually purchased an item that I never considered buying online. The store is located in a cool neighborhood full of restaurants… The OVO store staff is cool, very helpful. No complaints. I love Toronto, I’m sure every time I’m in the city I’ll make sure to stop by the OVO store just check out what they have.

I wonder how this store would fare if it weren’t Drake’s flagship store. My guess is that it wouldn’t get much of a second look. But, of course, we do not live in a parallel universe where Drake does not exist(thankfully). And so this store is a nicely stocked location to pick up your Drake paraphernalia. I have to commend the store design. The floor, walls, and ceiling are all a stark white, the space is brightly lit, and the window facing the street spans the entire side of the space, giving the whole store a very surgically crisp atmosphere. The branding is sparse, too, with only the OVO owl logo to tip you off that it’s Drake’s store. Walking down Dundas after dark, this space stands out as a sterile block of bright white. The sales associates mostly left us to our own devices after greeting us, and did not offer much help, or intrude either. Never was«Drake» ever mentioned out loud. The actual clothes themselves are more or less what you’d expect: OVO-branded thick hoodies, beanies, and other items that you can see online. Come by at least once for the novelty, but don’t expect too much.
