Runnymede Healthcare Centre

This is a great, clean, and friendly hospital. It was newly renovated so it’s quite nice but is red brick building which fits in nicely with the bloorwest village neighbourhood. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a very accessible location by ttc.

I have recently begun volunteering here visiting patients with my cat, Neela. I socialize with and provide companionship to patients. The patients I visit require specialized care and treatment that can no longer be given at home. Examples of this include severe health challenges as a result of Huntington disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, ALS, and severe strokes. It’s a very sobering and humble moment. The patients are always happy to see me and depending on their motor skills, we interact.
The volunteer office is staffed by the Manager and coordinator. Both ladies are very sweet and professional. My volunteer application took several months, so if you are planning on volunteering, be patient and persistent at the same time (achieve balance though!).
The Centre is very modern and clean. The nurses and other staff are very professional and have great attitude/​disposition. I guess I will find out more with time.
