The cakes are great. And the lunch deal is really really good(sandwhich, salad, and cookies and drink). I used to work in the building and always got this $ 15 lunch because it tasted so damned good. The staff knew me by name. But then one day, the chef decided to cuss me out. Literrally. I was getting my typical lunch meal, probably for the 40th time in my life, and got my usual. Except all of a sudden, the san pelligrino orange pop that i had usually ordered was ‘not allowed’ as the lunch box deal. I mentioned to the chef who was not even serving me, but felt she needed to interfere, that i was confused because i had always got this. I wasn’t rude. She insisted that i had never received this. I said i was always did. She denied it. I asked her if she was insinuating if i was lying then. She said yes. I left. I was so pissed off by the situation that I decided to contact management but told them that i did not want any freebies or anything of the sort. I just wanted them to know about the situation. I got a call back from the store manager insisting i come in for a free lunch and that he was sorry. But he wasn’t really and there was no way i was going in a free lunch. That was not the purpose of the call. I told him i just wanted an apology from the chef. He said that would not happen. Fair enough. This is me kinda venting because really the point of this story is I still think about my lunch that i got hooked onto but i will not order it or go there for principal. Please go eat it and just for me, give the chef dirty looks(lady probably mid 30’s, appears like she may have a jamaican or trinidady background, heavy set body type, wearing a chef jacket).

This Senses location confuses me… yes, there is waiter service? Doh, I really couldn’t tell. I was probably too engrossed in the conversation I was having with an old friend, but the staff person behind the counter still failed to clarify once he realized«yes, we are dining here.» Regardless of my confusion, I enjoyed the mini Italian cheesecake we chose, but was disappointed in the lack of selection. I’m accustomed to the lengthy mini cake spread located in their Wellington bakery. The hot chocolate was good enough and the cookies were a bit too stiff for my liking, but the atmosphere fulfilled my purpose of having an uninterrupted catch up session with someone that puts a smile on my face. This place(barely) passes for a future visit. Hopefully, next time there will be more cakes for my eyes to feast on.
