I’ve held off on writing this because society makes me feel awkward/blame myself about being hit on. But *deep breath* here goes — I sincerely believe that business owners should not hit on patrons. Especially when the business owner is more than a few decades older than the patron. Especially when the patron makes it clear that he/she is not interested in the business owner. On top of that: I ordered a glass of wine to go with my meal. The glass of wine kept being refilled in a manner that implied that it was comp. When I calmly told the business owner I could not go on a dinner date with him, he majorly lost his cool. Out of no where and without request, a cheque appeared. His demeanour and words and attitude completely changed. He went from flirtatious to rude, derogatory and condescending. Also, I was apparently paying for the entire bottle of wine — that he had also partaken in. I just wanted to get the eff out of there. Pulled out a credit card. Business owner told me know it was cash only(not posted anywhere). Because I am OCD about owning the moral high ground — I actually went to the ATM above the street. Walked back down. Paid my $ 40 plus tip. Never returned. Worst part? SOMEOFTHEBESTMEXICANFOOD I HAVEEVERHAD. I really wish I could eat his food without ever seeing the chef/owner again.
