I just visited the new Smooth location in Toronto’s Liberty Village last week. Jane, the coolest Irish girl ever, was my Waxologist for the evening. She was very approachable, so thorough, and totally skilled at her craft. I went for a modest wax and was impressed by the professional, no-nonsense feel at the salon. Prices are a bit higher than most of the competitors, but they have discount codes available online(«classically» until April 2016) for first time visitors and the option of a 20% off membership deal. The wax itself wasn’t too hot and the whole thing took around 20 minutes. She used multiple types of wax depending on hair thickness and length. I’m also very impressed by their product selection. There’s nothing like some taboo-free feminine hygiene brands that make cleansing products so fun. I got two sets of cleansers, body wipes and moisturizers from the cheeky brand«I Love My Muff» and a sugar scrub and body lotion from the Toronto-based brand Love Fresh. I am already obsessed with the fresh pear scent — I have to stop myself from eating them. Can’t wait to go back to Smooth! I’d highly recommend.

This is a new place in Liberty village and I’m so happy! It’s basically the place that specializes in waxing close by. Very friendly staff, always making sure service was amazing. They do great work here and there waxes are imported(which I found cool). Try this place out!

Freshly opened waxing place that looks very promising and with reasonable pricing. I went in for a Brazilian wax and booked an appointment online swiftly. I had accidentally booked 2 appointments online and the front desk was incredibly nice when I explained the mistake and cancelled the accidental appointment without any hassle. Waxologist was also incredibly nice but was a little slow compared to other waxing places I have been to like the ten spot or Camden spa, though I imagine this may be because they’re still getting up to speed as a new business. In comparison to other waxing spots their pricing is also quite competitive, not to mention their half off deal on your first service this month! All in all a very convenient spot that I can see myself going back to in Liberty village.

Not impressed. I was extremely excited to come here when I found out they opened. There is nothing like a wax bar close to home! I called to make an appointment and the girl on the phone was really weird. I had a few questions about the place and she had very little knowledge, and it was uncomfortable speaking with her. I could also hear someone in the back giving the answers. That person was the owner. So, I ended up speaking with the owner and she assured me that they do NOT double dip. When I came into the place is seemed clean and that was pleasing. Until… I came into the room and my Brazilian wax began. The techncianl(Indian and name started with an S) was nice. She said she use to work at Fuzz wax bar, and was a teacher(for waxing and Estheics). I thought that she would be excellent at the wax. I was wrong. She was slow. It hurt like hell. Then I watched her DOUBLEDIP the stick many times. I wanted to say something but I thought maybe, just maybe the pot was almost empty. That would explain everything because they would be throwing it out(I use to work at a Spa and when the wax pot was almost finished it was ok to DD because no one would use it after). NOPE! When she finished and left the room I peeked over and looked at the station. The wax was full. I was disgusted. I will never come here again, and will never recommend this place. It’s absolutely horrifying that a «teacher», or any Esthetician would ever double dip the stick. They should know that this will cause any bacteria in the pot to MULTIPLE. Gross.
