St George Dry Cleaners

Because I really wish I knew how much I was going to pay going in, I thought I would share this information with you! Dry cleaning for a (simple i.e. no sequins, feathers, leather or silk) dress was $ 16.95. Now you know.

Rude service and does not take ownership for their own errors. I brought a jacket to dry clean and they ruined every single button on it. All black buttons were scratched up with exposed white scratch marks. They handed me the jacket and didn’t say anything… thought I wouldn’t notice? Then when I asked about it the owner was rude and inpatient and didn’t want to do anything to fix it. I kept insisting because I couldn’t wear the jacket anymore and he finally agreed to paint it black. I asked him if he can make sure not to stain my jacket with the paint and he raised his voice and said «WHY WOULD I DO THAT?» to which I responded «I didn’t think you would ruin my jacket and you did.»
In the end when I returned 2 days later to collect my jacket (with painted buttons) only one side were painted with a really bad paint job, and the other side untouched. Again, I said this isn’t acceptable I can’t wear this. The owner just said that it is in the contract that they are not responsible. Turned around and walked away before I could say anything.
I would NEVER go back to this place, not only because they ruined my jacket but more importantly because they take no responsibility and not helpful at fixing it. They do alterations on premises and definitely could have offered to rebutton my jacket easily. I would think twice about entrusting them with anything.

I used to bring my shirts here often. They do work on premises so turn around can be very quick. Results are typical of cleaners in this price range. They lost one of my shirts for a few months and they literally write your name on the placket of the shirt to save money on tags, needless to say I wasn’t impressed with either or these things.
Knobhill down the street appears to be your best bet in this neighbourhood.
