Came on the wrong night. Friday is Asian night. So. Many. Asians. Everywhere. They were also really young. How do I know? Because by midnight, they were yakking everywhere. A girl was holding up her drunk friend in the ladies room asking to use the washroom first because she needs to yak. It was 12:15am to be exact. I thought to myself — it’s going to be a long night. Sure enough, as the night progresses, more and more club goers became club goners. We’ve had a few passed out in our booth and the security guard came by asking us to leave with our friend when we didn’t even know them. I guess this isn’t the establishment’s fault — they’re just doing their job. Also, I didn’t like the crowd — felt like too many entitled Asian girls and their string of boy toys. There was a guy holding to a half unconscious girl on the dance floor fiercely making out with her face… poor girl — I hope she doesn’t get any bruises. The highlight of my night was the not one but two free pizzas our booth got. Yes, call me whatever you want but food after a night of skillful maneuvers around drunken girls that cannot hold their sh*t together, you’d get hungry too. Oh, they also give free water and popcorn. Overall, will I come back? Maybe on another night or to try their restaurant.

We came here a few weeks ago for a work event. The Fifth Social are the same owners of Easy on the 5th nightclub that’s located one floor below. The ambiance has a mash up of rustic with a contemporary southern charm with the wood finish and furniture. During the event there were plenty of food stations serving up decadent dishes from their in-house sliders which were the best. In addition to beef patties and a couple of dips, they also served up some gnocchi with I found was a bit too thick. Overall the place was lovely, clean and quite spacious with a big bar :-)

Friday is an Asian night. The venue is nice. People are well dressed. Guys can’t wear sneakers or jeans. Girls dress to impress. Everyone seems to know each other. The music is just terrible. TERRIBLE. They usually play top 40 and some of the songs aren’t clubbing material and were just passive as fuck. I went to the DJ to ask for a song and he puts his hands in my hair and says«why? You’re not here to ask for a song, you’re here cause you want me?» And as he said this he got closer and closer to me. I was harassed by the dirty ass DJ. Not only the music was terrible but the DJ was fucking disgusting. Crowd is usually packed — with Asians of course. If a girl walks to the washroom, it’s like walking down the runway and all the guys eyes are on you. if you’re single and you’re looking to pick up some girls/guys, this is a place for that.

I get dragged here from time to time to appease my friends, and I generally have a good time because I’m with my friends, but other than that, the club itself is just your average club that happens to be predominantly Asian on Friday nights. I’ve never been on a Saturday so I don’t know what it’s like then. Let’s start with the positives. The décor is nice, something you would expect when you’re partying near the financial district. It’s close to Chinatown, so once you’ve had enough, it’s fairly easy to make your way over to the nearby late-night phở restaurants. The bouncers here never gave me any trouble, and to be honest I’m still not sure what the dress code is. They say you have to wear a collared shirt for guys, but yet I see some guys in sweaters. I think you just have to blend in. I hate dressing up, so I like the somewhat lax dress code. The bartenders have usually been pretty quick to serve, and were all friendly. The price of drinks are fair(~$ 5) and the cover isn’t that bad($ 15) when you consider that this is a «nicer» establishment. Sometimes they have fondue towers and serve waffles, which is random but when you’re drunk that kinda stuff can make you unbelievably excited. So onto the problems. The biggest problem here is really the crowd. I don’t understand why people think it’s ok to push people in this club when such behaviour would never be tolerated outside of this club, or any other club for that matter. I guess Asian guys tend to be somewhat tame, so I rarely ever see fights break out, but man, if this kind of pushing happened anywhere else, you’d get punched in the face. Pushing people does not make you seem manly, it just makes you douchey, so tone down your ego. The girls here are a bit better behaved, or maybe I’m biased because my girl friends are well-behaved, but wow, some guys really have no game. Guys, if a girl isn’t interested, she’s not going to be interested so just swallow your pride and move on. Also, just because a girl is showing legs, or some cleavage doesn’t mean she’s looking to get laid so stop the unsolicited touching, it’s super creepy. The music here can sometimes suck real bad. I love Top 40 and that’s what they predominantly play, but the DJ here really needs to learn to DJ properly. You have to keep the flow so that people aren’t abruptly cutoff in middle of the song. I swear sometimes they only play 30 second clips of songs, so by the time you get into a song it’s already moved on to the next track. I’ve read multiple complaints on here about the exact same issue — and it really is a problem. I guess overall I would probably say that this sort of place isn’t for me personally. I prefer going to a club for the music, and to actually dance. I sort of feel like I’m in high school again when I step into the Fifth Social Club(«Easy»), where guys are trying to act all tough to attract the girls who are huddled into their respective circles trash talking other people who are exactly like them. I think I would prefer this place if the maturity level of the crowd went up a bit. Meh, in the end it’s not that bad of a place and with enough vodka, any place can be fun. At least I know I can look forward to the drunk phở(the best kind of phở) after putting up with the whole ordeal, so for me it’s kinda worth it. I feel like it’s a bit unfair to the establishment to give it negative ratings based on the other customers — whom they can’t really control, so I’ll give them some stars for the décor, the staff, the ambience, and a good playlist that abruptly cuts off in random places.

… I never go Saturday’s so I decided to go with my roommate, we were the last ones there and they asked«is that coat check ticket yours or did you just find it on the floor»… I’ve never received such an outrageous question before… So I hesitated, they asked me what my jacket looks like. I’ve never had a problem or be discriminated like this before. Weird.

Don’t waste time here. Bouncers and management have horrible attitude. Lied about the guest list name just so then they can tell you to leave when clearly my friend just went in less than 5 mins ago because we had to find parking. Very rude and disrespectful. First and last time ever attempting to go there.

Went on a friday. Everyone was asian. Bunch of thirsty socially awkward 20 year old asian kids hitting on groups of stuck-up asian girls. Mother hen mentality strong. Bartender didn’t know what a blue moon was or any other american beer for that matter. I was whipping out my canadian bills from my wallet and the bartender noticed my benjamins and proceeded to give me a despiteful ‘america-hating’ look. Overall had a good time here, but I honestly feel bad for you canadian guys putting up with rude and guarded behavior from canadian women. As a side-note not pertaining to social fifth– I have a gf and on my first day in canada walking the streets I approach different groups of people asking for directions and other questions pertaining to where the bank is and what places to check out and literally all the women think I’m hitting on them and put up their guards. Men were cool and friendly to me. It came to the point where every time I approached a female regardless of age, I had to wear a ring on my ring finger and say«hey me and my wife who’s back at my hotel…» before I would get an appropriate and friendly conversation with a canadian woman. I honestly could not believe how stuck up they were. I’m from east coast USA and even the women in NYC clubs are not this bad. Although I’ve heard people are friendlier in Vancouver and Montréal. People, especially women, from Toronto in general are just more cold and bitter. It all makes sense now that I think about being a medical student in Michigan. Some girls in my class are from Canada due to proximity, particularly in the GTA, and they are one of the most stuck-up, self absorbed, trump hating, hillary loving, pseudointellectual, egocentric, and fake women I have ever met and they really need to be put in their place. I digress. Social fifth. sure, it was a nice club, not too fancy, not too cheap. Drinks were okay. Girls kept asking me to buy them a drink that I had not even talked to. For instance, I would be at the bar minding my business and a group of 3 asian girls in their skimpy outfits would tap my shoulder and ask me in their slurred high-pitched voice, «heeeyyyy can you like buy us shots??»… and i’m like wtf? Y’all Toronto men need to tame your women.

Went to the fifth on a Friday night. Man, there were so many Asians in this club haha! The cover is pretty pricey… $ 15 dollars and $ 3 for coat check. Would have thought ladies cover would be cheaper, but nope. The bouncers are pretty nice and the club is really pretty and well decorated. The music was kinda bad. They should consider playing more top 40 songs and EDM house music. I did however liked how they played some old songs like backstreet boys.

PROS + FOOD: free food and water bottles? Whaaaaaaaat?! That’s a first time I’ve ever gotten freebies from a club and that’s so awesome. They had a chocolate fondue station, popcorn giveaways, waffles with whipped topping. It was pretty legit. + FANS: the middle of the dance floor gets so friggen hot. Thank god for the ceiling fans. CONS — COVER: $ 15 for both ladies and gents before 11:30. I’m surprised that ladies don’t get in free before # o’clock — DRINKS: $ 7.50/mixed drink. pretty standard for a Toronto club More often than not, it is an Asian-populated club. You get a few token white, black, brown people but they’re def of a minority.

..And down a star it goes! I’m sure I’ve been to this club more than most of the reviewers, so I definitely need to update this. I used to LOVE this club, I’d be there every friday night! Every. Single. Friday. Night. Wait, how much money did I spend again? Yeah, I don’t want to think about it. Let me put it out there– friday night is asian night. Asians come here to escape the other clubs and dance among their own. If you’re any other race, you’ll probably not be welcomed here with open arms and get a lot of looks. I’m not trying to be offensive, but from what I’ve heard, that’s the case. The bouncers are still the nicest bouncers I’ve ever encountered in toronto. They are friendly and are one of the only ones that don’t power trip like crazy on their bouncer status. They smile, greet you, help you up or down the stairs(if you need) and generally create good vibes already before entering the club. The club itself is BEAUTIFUL, and when I go in, I don’t smell ratchet– which is rare in the entertainment district. There are chandeliers, beautiful décor and pretty lights. The bartenders are pretty nice, but sometimes you ask for water and they ask for $ 2 in return. Those times, I just go to another bar(there are 3) and get it for free. The water bottles are free most of the time and they even give you water on the way out, so I think they need to be consistent and not charge for it randomly. Music is still inconsistent although it’s gotten a lot better over the years. It’s mostly top 40, hip hop and EDM and it keeps the crowd dancing(or that weird jump move they call dancing). This club also has life sized jenga, connect 4 and now even a swing that you can swing on. What?! So cool. But it can get ratchet really fast. The crowd here has gone downhill severely– maybe it’s because disgusting gravity down the street has closed? There are SO many fresh out the womb kids here now and they have 0 club etiquette, pretending they’re drunk off one drink, pushing people down, falling everywhere and thinking it’s cute. One big thing that always stops me from coming here now is the fact that there are always little ones here, as opposed to the mid-20s crowd back then. I’m sure there are plenty of underage kids here, and I’m not about it. PROTIP: do not come during summer or when university kids come home for reading week. DEATH.

It’s. just another club. The lineup at 11pm on a Saturday was pretty quick. The bouncers weren’t power-tripping, and the club wasn’t overly packed at any given moment. I was actually impressed with the male/female ratio which seemed to be more or less 50⁄50. The DJ, like others have already mentioned, likely has ADD — flipped songs every 30 seconds. That was pretty annoying.

I want to get this part out of the way first. The DJ is horrible on both Friday and Saturday nights. He’s not even a DJ… He’s a song flipper with a severe case of ADD. I’ve attended once on a Saturday night, but I mostly attend on Friday nights because the only friends I know who still go clubbing at my age, are Asian and it’s 97% Asian. I’m 1%, and the other 2% are people who already waited in line, paid cover and are too committed to leave once they see the demographic. lol. It’s amazing how many black dresses you see… but I like Asian girl too, so I’m happy. Just for the love of god, fire the DJ!

I had some serious déjà vu moments of clubbing in Asia at the Fifth. I didn’t realize that Fridays was«Asian night», so walking in and seeing 99% Asians was somewhat of a surprise. The Fifth felt more like partying at a millionaire-friend’s condo than going to a club. Everything was well-lit and I felt safe. The music is pretty good for dancing, covering all the top EDM songs you hear at festivals, but less trance. There were also some mixes of pop songs from the early 2000s(takes me back to middle school days). The dance floor was packed, but not a lot of people were seriously dancing, mainly just a lot of the standard I-don’t-know-what-is-going-on fist pumping. There is no stage and the DJ wasn’t very interactive so it was kind of confusing which side to face. Most people were in their early 20s, probably university students or young professionals who just started their careers. I found that the bouncer had some serious double-standards for the dress-code. He was giving my friend a hard time for not wearing a button down shirt whereas a bunch of guys were just wearing T-shirts inside the club. I even saw a girl with shorts that looked like PJs. Not sure what’s going on there… I would probably come back on a Saturday to check out the place again, but a bit hesitant to pay the cover charge. Would rather just go to Uniun and get in for free.

This place reminds me of an old mansion. Friday nights are packed in here. The music is top 40 and the beer and drink menus and pricing are on par with other clubs in this area. 4 stars because of the service and atmosphere. At the end of the night the bar gives out free food(it varies between things like subs and pancakes. Good looking crowd and overall a fun place.

I came here for Asian night on Friday. A lot of young college asians here. It was nice getting cheap drinks from 10p-11p but the music was just okay. The set up is nice with a decent sized dance floor and enough bars to where you don’t have to wait too long for a drink.

I’ve been to this place on a Friday; typical asian crowd, mediocre music, top 40 and mainstream. Went here again on a Saturday for a birthday, and I cannot even exaggerate on how horrible this place was. We waited one hour in line, normal… and paid 15 bucks to get in, which was decent. Crowd was mixed with 40 y. o, thirsty midgets and dehydrated chick’s with their shoes off and tits hanging out of their dresses. DJ needs to get fired due to his taste in music. At one point he played some disco 70’s music and remixed it with drake. I was so lost for the whole night. AND then some bulky guy in a horse mask gave a girl in a grandpa mask a shoulder ride…

Came here to enjoy a birthday party that my buddy organized. Located at the club district of Toronto this place was easy to find with nearby parking available. Although, it’s a hefty price to park downtown, may I suggest cabbing it to here. My first impression is it was packed with younger people, most likely university and college folks. Just dancing the night away, some are uptight and some just wants to have fun. Typical club scene. The DJ when I was there was alright. Top 40 mix and a couple of repeat on the list. He got everyone dancing which was good enough. The mind boggling thing I saw was there guest was Bruno Cabloco of the Toronto Raptors. However, this guy is not even legal to party yet. If they let a minor in, how many people do you think are underage in this scene as well. This club is not my cup of tea. It’s just the proto-typical club. I say there other joints in Toronto to have more fun in.

FIRST ever review outside of the United States and wow this is a nice place… First going in I see some Hampton’s white layout, looks like an attachment to some rich guy’s beach house. The white drapes on top then make it reminiscent of wedding or celebration. Bartenders and bouncers were friendly. We went on Friday and apparently that’s Asian night. Before midnight they have GIANT jenga and connect 4, seems like a good way to meet new people. Drinks are cheap as hell(vs NYC at least) and before 11:30 or around then shots are only 3 bucks, try finding that in a top tier club in NYC. Definitely recommended.

We dropped by here for the first time the other night. I seriously thought I had transported myself to another continent. No one told us, but apparently Friday is Asian night? I seriously saw three non-asian guys the entire night, and the club was packed. There was a pretty good, diverse mix of Asian ethnicities, though. Have to admit, it was a little weird to see a 100% white staff and a 99% Asian clientele. Main complaint of the night was the music — the DJ has the attention span of an amoeba, and/or only had access to the 30 second sample tracks on iTunes. He seriously switched the song every 15 seconds. If you put something on, and the entire crowd starts to cheer, don’t change the song immediately! There wasn’t a wait at all for us to get in at around 11:45/12:00, but the inside was wayyy packed. I got the sense that a lot of people were regulars or at least knew each other, because it seemed like everyone was constantly bumping into someone they knew. Clean, with a classy vibe — the interior is all white paint and chandeliers. Coming here was actually one of the most pleasant clubbing experiences I’ve had in this city. The bathrooms were bright, stocked and very clean — a bonus for having stalls with the full doors that go all the way down to the floor. The people were all pretty nice(save for a few creepy guys) and friendly for conversation. The bouncers weren’t obnoxious at all, and the bartenders and staff were genuinely friendly. There were a few girls that were just goooooooneeee outside of the club, and the staff were calling taxis for them. Also, they had a table with a lady giving out free water bottles right outside the entrance of the club. A++ When we left, they gave us two vouchers each for free cover the next time we came.
