My stylist retired after being together for 20 years. I can’t believe I was in such a spin. So I’ve been looking for that someone special to take care of my hairdressing needs. I’ve googled and searched and followed recommendations and by some«divine intervention» I came across«Lid Lounge». It’s in my neighbourhood(although I was prepared to travel for the right person). My first appointment with Sunil was yesterday and«I’m home». A funky salon with people who obviously know their stuff and care about their clients(and the resident dogs). Sunil checked every strand of my hair and textured in some unique ways that makes the end result amazing. I was prepared to have highlights but Sunil did not recommend them at this time. I mention that because my needs were put before the dollars I was prepared to spend. And also a fun and entertaining afternoon sharing British humour and stories. Thank you. See you in a few weeks.

Let me just say Dorothy is a colourist god. I had jet black hair for 6 years and had a bad experience attempting to go to a purple red colour with dark brown under lights somewhere else. She did a colour correction on me, and the results were extraordinary. My hair went from«what the hell happend here» to «spectacular!» Even better then I had ever imagined. I walk down the street and get complimented on my hair at least every other day. Everyone who works here is sweet and friendly, your treated with respect, and have people to LISTEN To your hair concerns. So if your looking for an amazing colourist look no further and go see Dorothy! Check out the before and after I posted here and see for yourself!

This salon was a recommendation from a friend of mine and started coming to the salon before I moved to Toronto. I’ve been with Sunil for 3 years and love how my hair has evolved this whole time. Friendly, pretty chill atmosphere and sometimes you might get a friendly dog to pet. Haircut is not to disappoint and personality to boot!

Horrible! My hair was so bad and it was very overpriced. $ 130 for a root application with single process colour with a junior stylist. The lighting in there is so dim that even the stylist can’t properly see the colour, which became painfully obvious when I returned home and into natural light. I’ve never had someone mess up my hair so badly. He applied level 6(or so he claims) Wella colour to red hair. I had black roots and copper ends. I had to go elsewhere for a $ 230 colour correction, and then pay for once more before my hair was finally looking decent again. But because he used permanent colour, my colour will never be the same until it grows out. Even the President of the company where I work made a comment about how bad my hair looked — and I didn’t think he knew I existed. Stay away!

I had a great first experience here — and I’m always nervous when I visit a stylist for the first time, so using«great» isn’t an exaggeration. Sunil took a good hard look & moved my dry hair around before he did anything so he could get an idea of what he was dealing with, which impressed me. He really took his time with both the cut and the blow dry, which can be a downside sometimes but it’s a welcome change from stylists who prefer volume of clients over happy ones. I’m hoping my second visit, in the next couple of months, will be just as positive at the first!

I get my hair cut here every 3 weeks, the service is impeccable, the styling is unparalleled. You need an appointment for an in demand place like this but its worth it. I come here every 3 weeks and although it is not inexpensive, you get what you pay for. They have accommodating hours and amazing talent. I used to get a buzz cut at other places since I have short hair but Sunil does it all by scissors, amazing!

No attitude, no air-kissing, no black-clad minions brewing espresso – just spot-on styling, delivered by pros who love making clients look their best. On a decidedly scruffy block in pawn shop territory, this place is so low-profile, you have to look hard to find it.(On my second visit, I walked right past the door.) I’ve been after Sunil and Dean to get proper signage like every other salon, but their focus is hair, not marketing, and that’s part of Lid Lounge’s charm. I’ve paid more elsewhere, but I’ve never had a better cut – and have never seen a client leave Lid Lounge looking less than stylishly coiffed.

If you want to look your best whether it be edgy or fun or funky, Lid Lounge is the place to go. Any of the stylists would make you look great but what’s even better is the way your hair grows into your cut. Amazing!
