Great music. Great service. The food was good too and I really liked their crème brûlée so much so that I cleaned up mine and ate half of my husband’s! The only thing I had negative for them was, the prosciutto pizza was a bit salty for my taste, but it was good favour nonetheless.

I saw DeeDee and the Dirty Martinis here the other night. They were fantastic. We had a great spot by the stage at the stand up bar. Every song was done with so much energy. You could see that everyone was having a great time. The dance floor is small but people just dance anywhere. They did a lot of old Motown songs. Tons of fun! Can’t wait to go back again.

This is an incredible underground Jazz and Blues club. By far one of the most magnificent places I’ve ever had the pleasure of going. I attended on New Year’s Eve for a special 3 course lobster dinner. I was blown away. — Food — The food is incredible. The chef is excellent and properly understands how to cook Lobster. As well the appetizer of cheese and meat was spectacular. — Drinks — The old-fashioned was amazing. Due to the late nature of our meal(which in reality was only 20 minutes, not something I had an issue with) they sent drinks on the house to myself. — Service — The service was incredible. The staff was well versed in wine and liquor, as well as the food. Service was polite and quick. I am incredibly pleased. — Atmosphere — Its a small feeling, exclusive dancing club. The lights are dimmed low with live Jazz which blows you away. Up in front of the stage is a small area to dance swing and whatever your heart desires. The crowd ranges from young professionals and older women and men enjoying the music. You will definitely want to dress up. — Overall — I beyond love this place. I will keep going back and back and back. I cannot get enough.

This place is always lively, and all around a great Jazz lounge. Unlike other music focused lounges, The Reservoir Lounge has decent food, and good selection of drinks. The staff is attentive and accommodating. I’ve been there a couple of times. Once on a date, and another time with some friends. It’s a really lovely place for date night. The ambiance, candle light, small tables — perfect way to cozy up with your partner. Or get up and dance! The music starts close to 10, and by 10:30 the dance floor gets quite crowded. But it’s a good crowded; with enough personal space. You NEED to make reservations ahead of time — they tend to book up quite quickly. And they will only hold your table for 15 minutes. Also, the bathrooms are in the corner, close to the stage, so it can get a bit annoying squeezing through the crowded dance floor. It’s totally not a big deal, but maybe avoid chugging those beers. Note: There is usually a cover charge of $ 10.

I really enjoy the place. Got there around 9:30 on Saturday night. The place was full but because someone just cancelled reservation we were offered a table. It was close to the music band. The place is very cozy with dim lights and brick wall. Very romantic I would say. The band was excellent. There were a lot of people dancing. At some point there was no room. We had drinks and crab cakes. They were good. I would recommend this place for good music and romantic atmosphere.

The place has a great vibe. If you are looking for a unique place to go on for a date, or a birthday this is it. The music is great, try going in on a weekday because the place gets jam packed. The food is good, wouldn’t say fantastic. We did find the lemon grass chicken pretty yummy. But, you are going there for the music, dancing and not for the food alone. Try getting a table to the left of the stage, that gives the best view of the stage. But, if you are looking for some alone time then stay away from the stage area because it gets crowded. If you are celebrating something, you can let the server know before hand and she can ask the band to give a shoutout.

The service is excellent, drinks are a tad expensive and the music was very entertaining. We love that it was semi underground; gives it an authentic vibe! Will return for sure

I’m very careful when I give 5 full stars to a place. It was during one of our spontaneous night out decisions with my cousin that we came across this place. I was looking for a bar with live jazz music, as I’ve had multiple enjoyable nights in other cities with this kind of vibe. So, after a quick search on Unilocal I landed on this page and started going through all the reviews and decided to give it a shot on a Wednesday night. The place is within walking distance from King subway station and if you choose to drive, the parking is free after 9 pm, which is when the live band starts performing as well. The place was full of couples of ages 20s-40s. I was approached by a lady who loved to dance and for some reason out of all the people sitting she asked me to start dancing with her. I guess she realized that I was enjoying the music a little too much and I was dancing in my chair. I didn’t mind. In fact our duo was a great start for the rest of the people to join us on the tiny dance floor. The overall vibe is very small, casual and friendly, which I loved about this place. There was a $ 5 cover charge and coat check is tip only. Drinks are great, service is superb and the pizza we shared(Prosciutto) was fantastic! I’ll definitely come back and check out other bands. Tonight’s band was amazing. The vocalist nailed every song with her outstanding performance.

Absolutely loved it! It was«Tipsy Tuesday» and we had a great time. I arrived around midnight to see the band begin their third set. It made the fact that I had to pay a cover charge worth it. The band was phenomenal and it was great to see folks let loose and just dance to their hearts desires. Drinks will run you about $ 11.95 plus tax and tip, but they were pretty decent. Whenever I return to Toronto, I would certainly come back.

I went with some friends last Saturday night. The cover was $ 10, and the place was packed with people very quickly. The music was pretty good, but with people dancing around, bumping to the tables and chairs all the time, it was hard to enjoy. The food and drinks were good but nothing special.

I went here as my first date with my boyfriend. We had wine with chocolate fondue(they only give you strawberries). Try to go a bit early like 8pm? Just right after dinner hour so you don’t wait outside for the line. Because the seats are for first come, first serve. They also had a jazz band performing. The viewing is kinda bad from the tables, but you get to sit LOL It did get crowded in the end and random people dancing, so it was a free atmosphere.

We just stopped here for drinks after having our dinner elsewhere so I can’t comment on the food, but the drinks were fairly priced and the atmosphere is fantastic. It’s dark, intimate and the crowd really gets into the dancing. The dance floor is small but even so, people danced away. The crowd is a bit older as it is a jazz bar but I did a half dozen people under the age of 30. The music was pretty good as well and the performer(Stacey Kaniuk) really got into it which was nice to see. They do charge cover($ 10) though. Make sure to make reservations especially on the weekend because seating is pretty limited and it got pretty crowded.

A hidden little spot! You don’t know anything is happening if you’re just strolling by. But walk down these stairs and there’s always beautiful Jazz music. It’s so wonderful here. The atmosphere is very causal, there are men in shorts and there are men in suits. There are lots of tables but the place is always full. Cover can be expensive on certain nights, I think weekends are $ 20? Cocktails menu is one page long, very short beers menu, and lots of dinner options. The venue is very dark.

We came on a Wednesday night. It was quiet but no less livelier thanks to the great live performances! Drinks were reasonably priced, service was prompt and the vibe and décor of the place was spot on — it felt like it was straight from a Chicago Jazz bar. We didn’t get to try the food but you definitely come here for the music and atmosphere which were obviously perfect. Bonus points for the St. Lawrence Market/Flat Iron neighbourhood location!

A cozy jazz bar in an unassuming location in downtown Toronto. The one thing I love about traveling is finding gems like this — specifically jazz lounge gems. We are at a loss for this experience in ROC so it’s a treat to experience the house band underground jazz scene when trekking to new cities(literally very basement-like with brick and black walls). The drinks are strong and the music robust. You can find a nook to nestle into here and enjoy the experience however you like. I like a good view of the band but out of the way of the dancers which usually means to the left or right of the stage. We were there on a Tuesday night when Tyler Yerema was rocking the keys with his band. I love a good jazz trumpet, and bonus! they had a lady friend hop on stage to sing some great tunes too. The dancers are fun to watch and some get realllly into it, writhing in a drunken stupor. They have a little area to the left of the stage that the dancers dominated, invoking jealousy with their rhythm. Give it a whirl! The place was jamming in every sense.

What a great live music bar! The music was absolutely phenomenal, super close to the band. Came here on a Friday night when the Dirty Martinis were playing and they did a great job, great banter with the audience and boy did they deliver! My only issue is with the venue, super small, crowded and not enough seating. :/ Def a place to check out when you are in Toronto!

Really enjoyed the atmosphere here, very nice crowd and the staff are really nice. The band was awesome. The food was pretty good as well. We had the scallops, lemongrass chicken, and the prosciutto pizza. No complaints with the food or the prices. The private parking lots are more expensive that the municipal parking lot at the end of church street($ 10 vs. $ 5 on a Saturday evening).

On the first day of this supposed spring we braved the gloomy weather and decided to venture out in our neighborhood. First stop was the rather mundane marche. As the night progressed our demands became more elaborate so on a Thursday with not many options in the area we ended up at this Jazz lounge. I regularly walk by this area but other than them sharing the address with the Thai spot next door have never noticed much happening in this place. The cover was 7 $ on the day we visited, fine as all the people in our group would take LIVE music any day. They have got all the bases covered that are a requisite for a decent jazz bar i. e dim lighting, decent music and reasonably priced alcohol(more emphasis on the later). According to Seinfeld majority of the population is undateable and many people end up meeting courtesy of the social lubricant. I saw this unfold in front of my eyes at this spot which can be a good thing if you are looking for romance or want to make a mistake you want to regret(some mistakes are worth making BTW :) or if you are here to drown your sorrows this place will do fine as well. The band got us in the right mood with a famous song rendition after another. The night progressed fine with its share of «characters» sashaying on the dance floor. Think Amy Winehouse having a bad hair day(oops too soon!) but this is the best way to describe one of the person on the dance floor. The place was packed for Thursday though I don’t have a reference point on what to expect here. Crowd is what one would expect at a jazz bar. I didn’t try any food here though the charm of LIVE jazz will bring me back for sure.

What a neat spot. I came here with my in-laws for my brother-in-law’s birthday. Their food and drink menu are quite small, but everything is excellently made. The ginger cocktail is quite nice in particular. We started with the chickpea devil toast and I had the free range chicken pizza, without cheese. Both were excellent. The pizza was a thin, crispy flatbread crust and all the ingredients were cooked just right. I couldn’t have cheese, but it didn’t taste lacking. It was cut up into small two-bite pieces, which would make it perfect for sharing. Even so, I ate the whole thing myself. The band came on and that was fantastic. it wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t have a conversation and the place, though crowded, still allowed room for people to dance. The crowd is about 30 – 60, with everyone really relaxed and having a great time. Service was quick and super friendly. I had a really great time here. The only problem I had was that I suspected something I ate had dairy in it. Maybe the pizza dough. Also, there is literally nothing on the menu that doesn’t have some kind of cheese on it, which was an issue for me. I know it’s easy to ask them to hold the dairy, but I feel like I’m missing something if the dish isn’t supposed to be made dairy-free. Otherwise, a great place for dinner and dancing. The seating isn’t very intimate(and it’s VERY limited), but I’m thinking this would be a great date spot.
