As far as dive bars go, this one is pretty nice! It’s cozy and they have a pretty sweet DJ set up. Maybe it’s that I had great company while here, and they were good friends with our bartender but I really liked it. I ordered a dark and stormy. Now, usually I don’t enjoy those, it’s not my first choice but it was recommended, so… When in Rome! Success! It was good! So good I ordered another. This is a great drink after dinner spot. Would recommend.

I like because: it’s small and intimate(don’t bring a party of over four), the whiskey sour was doper than usual, and I loved the yam goat cheese panini. Bit overpriced but I wasn’t paying so w/e. The BF did NOT like at all because: they didn’t carry scotch and he’s apparently a 70-year-old board member. Also, a panini isn’t food if it doesn’t have meat in it. Don’t come if you’re in a rush as they take forever to get anything to you, ie drinks, food, bills.

Came here for a quick drink after Electric Mud. Seemed to have a nice low-key ambiance and decent prices for boubon and mixed drinks!

Popped in here for a quick drink and a bite the other day with an old friend. I had heard that this place was worth visiting. It was a Thursday and they have ½ price bottles of wine on Thursdays. I’ll definitely tell my girls, for when we ever feel like some vino. On this day, though, I opted for a cider and nachos. The menu is small, but the offerings are tasty. the chips were a mix of flavours, I even think they might throw in a few Doritos hint of lime in there, because every once in a while I’d get an extra kick of flavour. Lots of toppings, good amount of cheese and the portion was under control. Only $ 8 can’t be beat either. My friend had the burger and seemed pretty satisfied. I’ll come back another evening later on for some drinks and check out the vibe.

Great speakeasy style bar. Not much in the parkdale/Roncy area to go sit down and have a nice drink without overpriced cocktails and pretentious attitude. Yukon was perfect. The Old Fashioned and Gin and Tonic were delicious. We ordered some charcuterie with some fried chicken and some Mac and cheese and it was great too. Perfect place for a casual drink

This place is a great local cozy bar that has some great specials and a really nice vibe. Parkdale is so full of dives and frankly sketchy bars that are far below«dive» category that it’s refreshing to have a nice place like this. They have some craft beers on tap, though it would be nice to see more. Drinks are reasonably priced. Monday is buck-a-shuck but you have to get there early cuz they run out. Thursday is half priced bottles of wine(GOOD bottles of wine). The menu features meat and cheese and veggie boards. I’ve tried their mushroom and olive and curry melts. Very good as snacks and only 7 bucks. They just changed their menu a bit and have burgers and fried chicken; it looks good but I haven’t had it yet. The servers are all really nice and attentive, sometimes even really jovial. Occasionally I’ve heard loud and unbearable music there but usually it’s pretty chilled out. Saturday and friday nights can get really busy, but otherwise there is always seating.

Monday night buck-a-shuck oysters. Any place I can grab a Maudite gets bonus points. Interior is nice and dark, casual and cozy. Staff are great, especially Esther!

This place is super cute. Because it’s so small, it’s really easy to strike up a conversation with the strangers next to you, and everyone I met the night I went was very friendly. There weren’t any surprises on the beer list, but the snack list on the blackboard was very tempting(particularly the charcuterie plate!). The ambiance is nice: it’s a dim, cozy room that isn’t too loud to have a conversation in.

Came here for an after work drink and since have trouble passing it. Yukon is nice and dark and cozy — I’ve heard *terrible* music spun there but that’s luck of the draw — and generally the ambiance is nice. The bartenders are chatty and nice and obviously work hard. Booze is boozy. Shot glasses are HUGE and heavy. Like, dino egg vs chicken egg ratio. What else can I say? It’s totally a bar… gain. :\ Have I seen terrible people in this bar? Sure. Sure I have. I’ve seen terrible people everywhere. I use a fancy method where I don’t sit around staring at other people and criticizing them instead of hanging out with who I’m with.

I was taken here recently at a friend’s urging as he wanted to «run into» a hot babe and I wanted to hang with a hot babe. I didn’t mind this set up, and The Yukon turned out to be a sweet lil spot for our rendezvous. Prior to this evening beginning, I had enjoyed a few Cinco de Mayo cocktails and as a result, I was feeling ultra lazy(that’s code for the aftermath of a beer buzz). My friend assured me that it was a casual atmosphere and I took his word for it as I didn’t feel like getting gussied up. This takes ages,(actually 5 minutes) and I couldn’t be bothered. Luckily for me, my favorite dude doesn’t lie. The Yukon is in fact very casual and the dim lighting makes it feel like a secret that not many people know about. Except that, people are starting to know about it… and alas, this Queen Street gem will be bopping in no time. OK, it’s already bopping because the DJ, who’s surrounded by multitudes of records, plays some pretty sweet beats. After a few cocktails, we decided to jet, but I will definitely return to The Yukon, not only because it’s near my hot babes place of residence, but because there’s a teeny tiny snack menu that I must taste and ultimately devour… and then, of course, write about it with a full belly of soft pretzels… and beer… because, you know… pretzels make you thirsty.

It’s seems Parkdale is constantly sprouting with hip new bars, like mould on a three-week old hot dog bun. Sorry for the grody visual, but this is Parkdale we’re talking about. Only a year hence it was nothing but sketchbags and hipsters. Now outside sketchbags and hipsters are emigrating there. That’s progress. Anyway, The Yukon. Cool dimly lit spot that’s well suited for snacks and drinks. They have a few beers on tap(Beau’s, Guinness) and a short wine list also. Victuals are of the snackish variety: olives, bar nuts, pretzels and some hardier fare like charcuterie, wings and grilled cheese. My date and I enjoyed the hand pie special($ 7): a savoury meat pastry; the small Hunter’s board($ 16): an assemblage of meats, local cheese and pickles, and the meatballs and bread($ 9): which is meatballs and bread.(You will note the carnivorous theme.) The portion sizes match the modest prices, which make this a perfect after work spot, or casual hang out over drinks. A DJ booth flanked with hundreds of vinyls suggests that this could be a rad spot for the later hours of the night too. Time will tell. Obligatory Title Pun: YUKON count on it. Menu Readability: Single page, sans-serif, sensass! Need to mention: Bring a date! What this place teaches me about myself: I might just be equal parts sketchbag and hipster.
