This restaurant is on the Nova Scotia«Chowder Trail» and deservedly so. Their version was scrumptious. Great sandwiches too.

There appear to be a plethora of cozy quaint old style charm restaurants in the Maritimes. Places where you are prepared and served home cooked comfort food. The kind of food mom would make if your mom is a good cook! Décor is typically in the older contemporary themed design but this place had a more modern feel. On my visit I asked with what they are popular with. Our server mentioned the sandwiches are super popular and I had decided to go with the smoked salmon sandwich with a cup of seafood chowder. Chowda in the Maritimes is a time honoured staple. Many places do it average and some do it well. Here it was a generous medley of haddock, scallops shrimp and a bit of potato enveloped in a rich creamy broth. The smoked salmon sandwich was amazing. Prepared on a ciabatta style bun that was lightly grilled on both sides it had a light cream cheese filling and was one of the best salmon sandys I can declare I’ve had! Service was friendly and polite. Restaurant was buzzing with patrons enjoying lunch in downtown Truro.

This cozy little restaurant in the heart of downtown Truro is a perfect spot for lunch with friends or colleagues. The service is always friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. The food is by far the best in Truro for paninis, hearty soups and salads. They do have an extensive local wine menu as well. My favourites are the veggie panini with avocado and cheese,($ 12), and the havarti and apple sandwich($ 10). All the salads are outstanding but do try the Mediterranean orzo salad with feta cheese. Never had dessert here but the menu is very attractive. Not to be missed!
