DONOTGOTHERE!!! 1 star is only because I cannot go lower! I believe the other reviews are not accurate as there is a pizza place right next door to this one and they might be mistaking. The only reason why I stopped there is because the actual pizza place I was following on my gps(best rated by the slice) seemed too far from my hotel and it would have been cold on my way back as it was a windy day. I saw this place on my path and came in right before noon. They didn’t have anything ready outside from vegetarian options… the lady told me she had 3 kind of meat lovers coming out in a few. First off, none of them were«meat lovers»(one pepperoni, one with tiny pieces of bacon and a third, the buffalo chicken) so I took the buffalo chicken which seemed to be the option to satisty my craving. Second, out of nowhere the lady procceds to tell me her business is struggling because everybody want meat but it is costly to her. I didn’t pay too much attention to that but I was happy to help out. I walked back to my hotel, took a bite and… ewwww?! what is this!!! I peeled off the cheese and then realized the buffalo chicken is in fact buffalo potatoes!!! large chunks of POTATOES… not a single piece of chicken. I was furious so I called the number on the box and the lady answers. I told her I came in and got the buffalo chicken with no chicken and she says oooh the buffalo potatoes and chicken??? um, you didn’t mentioned potatoes before you said 3 kind of meat lovers… then she goes oh sorry maybe I forgot to tell you there are potatoes on it… straight BS. If I knew that potatoes would have been a filler to replace chicken to help a struggling business, I would have kept walking to the other place, return to my hotel with a cold pizza I would have enjoyed more! reminder: DONOTGOTHERE!!! I lost my money do not lose yours.

Normally I love this place. I order my usual and take it to go. However today they burnt my pizza. I didn’t realize this until I got home(about 40 mins later). Very disappointed. The girls there were new too. It’s not the usual people I see. I went back the next day and showed the workers the burnt pizza. They were great enough to make up for it by making me some fresh slices. Great customer service!

2001 flavours seems to be one of the more overlooked pizza spots in Vancouver. Located right next door to two other pizza spots this one is hands down the cream of the 3-way crop. The prices vary for single slices($ 2 — $ 3) depending on how many toppings are on the pizza, which makes sense but isn’t typical at all. The slices here are huge and EXTREMELYGREASY! which isn’t typically a bad thing if that’s your type of pie, but for many it can be a deterrent. The one thing I’ve noticed about this place is that the cheese melts better than any other sliced pizza place in the entire city, it’s just so damn gooey! Plus they have always been piping hot every time I’ve been which is great. FAVESLICE = PEPPERONI! MASSIVESLICESOFDELICIOUSRONI !!!

In town for a short business trip and staying at the Delta. Went for a walk to see what restaurants were nearby! Saw a pizza dive, and started reading the review article they had posted in their window. Apparently a great rivalry between this and the other pizza dive next door. Price cutting each other to under 1 $ a slice. With the University right next door, it screams«Location, Location, Location»! These prices were awhile back, but still über reasonable 1 slice for 2 $ So, scrapped my usual search for fine dining and decided to man up and eat a large slice for the whopping $ 2.26 all in. It ’twas ground beef, onion and hot peppers. Thin crust, short on sauce. If eaten late after a night on the town, I’m sure it would have been amazing. In the late afternoon, it is a solid 3 star pizza. Why a 4 star review you ask? Service was awesome. Offered to heat up my slice without even asking… And it was freaking $ 2.26 It’s a dive. In this case, that’s the way it should be.

Awesome pizza for $ 2. Always consistent and huge slices. Love this place after work I stop by and grab a slice and I’m hooked! Highly recommend this place for pizza lovers! Staff is really helpful and sincere. Love it.

This pizza tastes like crap. It’s flavourless, and dry. Ever heard of seasoning? No wonder people flock to the ranch dressing to douse their pizza with!

This is by far the best pizza under $ 2 a slice in downtown Vancouver. The crust is just perfect and the pizza, at least at lunch when I go, is always super fresh, which is more than I can say about any of the other dollar pizza joints. The husband-wife team that runs this place are so sweet!

I’ve been a loyal customer for over 12 years and I still think these are the best slices in town. Glad to see they’re finally expanding.

What happened to this place? I went twice this month and the slice was both times pretty much crap. Both were lunchtime visits though around 12pm. First time the pizza was cold and I had to give it back to them to put it in the oven. Second time the slice was hard as a brick and you could fix some of Vancouver’s sidewalks with it. Meh, I hope they get this under control again! –s

Behold! The lunch-time spectacular! You see that lady in the window madly tearing away the stringy melted cheese and wolfing down the hot and steamy pizza? Yup that’s me. You can witness this performance weekly, in person too, if you like. Eating a gigantic pizza slice is an art and a challenge to all lady-like manners, especially when the pizza is so *darn* good that I have to resist the urge to re-enacting the orgasm scene from«When Harry Met Sally.» Let’s run through some analysis: Quality: You get an abundance of freshly-chopped veggies and quality meat toppings that are searing hot — often off-of-the-oven. You can ask for your crust to be customized to thin/thick, regular or garlic! And you must eat it while it is hot so you can savor all that cheesiness from the gooey cheese and the oiliness from the pepperoni slices. If you are worried about the calories, ladies, the walk back to your office after lunch will help burn off your guilt. My only quibble is that I find the crust a bit too doughy sometimes and a bit dry towards the outer edge. Selection: There are the staple ones of course: Pepperoni, Hawaiian, Meat Lover etc. But there are also the Specialty pizzas that I applaud for their creativity and flavor, and here are my favorites: the Black Forest Ham, Cappicollo, and Barbeque chicken that is loaded with BBQ chicken, roasted baby potatoes, layers of mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Quantity: Even my meat-terminator friends can only handle two slices, as they are dinner-plate sized and thick with dough. Price: Very decent at $ 3.50 for two regular topping slices. Specialty pizza for $ 2.25. Service: The friendly and helpful staff will warm up your pizza without you asking when you order one that has been out of the oven for a while. Ambiance: This is a very cozy and can get very busy during lunch hours. Expect yourself to be rubbing shoulders with armies of languages students, shoppers, and businessmen. If you come here by yourself you’ll be entertained with classical music from CBC Radio 1 and a stack-full of daily newspapers. I usually«plan» enough break time in-between my meetings to come down for a piece of food tranquility. Come to think of it, maybe Pizza 2001 should pay me a modeling fee for all the window foodgasm that I’ve been acting. Cheerio!

I’m always looking for a place to eat fast, cheap and good. Usually, I always finished in a pizza restaurant so I tried a lot of places here in Vancouver downtown. I just can said that if you wanna eat pizza you must go to this place. It is not the luxury place or the beautiful place to go with your boy/girl friend but it is perfect if you’re looking for a place to eat cheap, fast and good. For a 2 dlls(tax incl) youre receiving a considerably big slice and good quality of pizza.

A great late night snack after tearing up Gastown. Think cheap fast pizza slices — albeit with high quality ingredients. Not much on atmosphere, but I think that’s the point.

Best cheap slice downtown, period. They do a brisk turnover, so the slices are always fresh and the selection very good. They seem to care about the quality of the pizza and it shows, fresh ingredients, great flavour combinations and always some interesting special. They just started delivering, so that makes ‘em even more awesome. Same dude’s been running this place for at least 10 – 15 years.

Just talked to the owner and asked why his pizza is good? Answer: «cos I make it with love and I make it like I did 20 years ago» sounds good to me… Lovin my slice! $ 1 loonie and three moosehead coins make this a deal of the century. Not only that but this is good fricking pizza,(not the crap you find everywhere else.) I am so sad that this place is not in my neighbourhood. All I get is crappy número uno or whatever the other place is called across the street from it on Davie, lol. — that’s me attempting to rant. any-who, if you are on the downtown part of town like Seymour and Pender, head in and get something. You won’t be disappointed. g

During my vacation stay in Vancouver a while back, my friend and I were getting a bit hungry after a busy day of sight seeing and shopping. It was too late to eat a full meal at a restaurant, plus a lot of places were starting to close. We walked around looking for something quick to eat and came across 2001 Flavours. We walked in, ordered, and walked out. Super fast service. Seriously, I think from walking and paying we had our food within a minute. Now that’s what I call fast food. Now some people will read that and think«food must not have been all that great then» BUT you are oh so wrong. The pizza was super delicious. Maybe I was just hungry, but it was really good. I had the bbq chicken and potato pizza and it was a big slice of chunky chicken and full flavour goodness. Total«NOM» worthy. OH~and for the price it is definitely a steal. If you’re hungry and don’t want to spend a lot of money I’d recommend 2001 Flavours.

Grab a hefty slice at this pizza shop on the corner of Pender & Granville, along the oreo line of cheap pizza and sushi spots. If you like big, satisfying-while-eating-it ‘nom-nom’ pizzas for cheap, this is a great choice! Chicken BBQ& Potato Pizza, $ 2.50(Taxes incl) Big, chunky, and fully loaded with greasy goodness. It’s a wee bit more $ than other pizza parlors, but also much bigger with more toppings — well worth it! 3.5 out of 5 because I can definitely see the draw even though quick greasy pizza isn’t my thing. What’s more: — Regular, Cheese and Garlic, $ 1.75-$ 2.00 — Daily Featured Specialty Pizzas, $ 2.50 — Super friendly staff — Seated area with tables, quite warm, stacked with The Straight

Why pay more for pizza when there are tons of $ 0.99 or $ 1.25 pizzas all over town? It’s DAMNGOOD pizza that’s why! The toppings in terms of quality and quantity far surpasses those other pizza joints. Their pizza flavours are unique and the dough is perfect. IF this place was an actual restaurant, I would eat here for dinner. Pizza and beer.

Pizza and Pender– the two go together like… pepperoni and mushrooms, warm crust and melted cheese, ham and pineapple. mmm… hungry I got two pieces here. Which was much more than I needed– my eyes were bigger than my stomach today. With 2001 choices, it’s hard to just pick one. Actually they had only about 7 different pizzas available when I came in at 1. This place was packed, not a single chair was empty. I grabbed the last pepperoni, and then gave in and got a bbq chicken slice as well. The pepperoni was good. There’s not a lot to say about it– but the pepperoni had a good flavor with some spice to it. The bbq chicken had potatoes on it(the reason I was so easily tempted by it), it was really tasty, except I thought there was a bit too much bbq sauce on it. Kind of overwhelming for my tastebuds. Is this place better than all the other pizza places next door and across the street? Not necessarily, but I can say if you go during the lunch hours– you’ll definitely get something fresh, because these slices are selling fast.

The name sounds like it’s an ice cream shop. And they don’t have actually have 2,001 flavours, nor is it all that futuristic. What they do have is very good, cheap pizza. It’s generally a couple of bucks and change for a slice with a few toppings, rather than the $ 1.50 that’s on the signs. However, unlike other buck-a-slice type pizza places, they use lots of good quality ingredients, i.e. actual slices of pepperoni rather than those little chunks you sometimes see. There are a couple of tables and a counter for eating in. When it gets busy, you’ll recognize this place by the lineup out the door at noon, and the happy people standing on the sidewalk eating their economical and tasty pizza lunch.
