I got a coupon in the mail. Two can dine for $ 10, therefore, came here to get a quick meal while in the area. The customer service here is terrible. I know that they must hate their job but do they have to show it so much. The area in which this location is doesn’t help spirits I am sure. I like this location ’cause it still has a semi vintage interior.

I don’t get it. I used to work for A&W and they used to be cool. When the heck did relatives as a burger name become the lay of the land? Momma burger is apparently a double so I fathom that Papa is triple and Grandpa is a four patty monster. And then there’s something called a 5oz Uncle? And don’t get me started on the whole chubby naming thing. In a day and age where most things have us grown up before our time, A&W would have you go back to kindergarten. No thanks.

Terrible service. Walked in, looked at the menu for a moment. I walked to the counter, took an extra second to look at my options and just as I began speaking the girl walked away to deal with drive up customers and didn’t even say anything to me. There was NO acknowledgement whatsoever. Terrible service so I left. DQ next door was fast and courteous– not to mention a lot cheaper! Thanks DQ!

Came here to check out their exquisite cuisine. This location has been around for quite a while, with the 1990’s exterior. A&W costs a few bucks more than places such as Burger King a few blocks to the E, but everyone also knows the root beer here is better. Parking is available beside the building itself(a handful of spots), but in the evenings you can also park on Hastings. The seating area is actually quite large here — if you’re in the area and have the munchies, you can easily fit 50 or more people in here. The interior did feel a bit«dirtier» though than other locations. Maybe the cleaning staff just dropped the ball today but just thought I’d mention it. The restaurant itself closes 2300, but there is a 24h drive-thru attached. Hello late night munchies. The strange thing about this location is that the onion rings tasted especially bland compared to other locations. The Teen Burger I had was fine, though the piece of lettuce was a bit too big on all sides. More veggies aren’t a bad thing though. One last thing — diet root beer is way less fizz than the original stuff.

My local A&W where I usually come and get my root beer and Mozza burger goodness. Along the East Hastings corridor, this little stand alone building seems to always have someone’s leftovers just laying around, and not cleaned up, from some empty glass mugs that probably had some delicious cool A&W signature root beer! It is never too busy in here, lights are also not as bright as the newer stores that have popped up in the downtown core. The place is filled with their signature orange color, and it feels like an old diner, with the old black and white pictures of the past, and how A&W’s used to look plastered on the wall. What is good about this fast food joint is, that there really is no ‘competition’ as they are all located farther down East Hastings, so if you want a burger, here is where it is at. They sometimes have location specific specials, and do not forget to add the seasoning salt to your order of fries!
