I would give them FIVESTARS if their pricing made sense. The woman who owns it is delightful. If you like the kind of stuff they specialise it(I don’t –I grew up with it) –it’s probably UTOPIA. HOWEVER –to me –a second hand shop is a second hand shop so you expect the tagged price to be higher than the price you both agree on. She will not budge on her price yet has items she admits are outside her purview, can’t guarantee if it’s glass, crystal or plastic, and apparently has brought in from somewhere in Richmond according to the season. I would have paid her just yesterday –almost $ 300.00CASH for a light I want BUT: a) she wouldn’t let me get on a step ladder to examine it closely –instead she stood on a chair and took pictures with her phone. Maybe she was really just trying to be nice… but if I’m buying I want to touch & test. b) couldn’t bring it down to floor level …(it’s a big light) c) Told me not only can she not budge on the price because the lamp is on consignment & she has to make her cut(fair enough) …but then d) Told me I’d have to pay her an ADDITIONAL $ 45.00 to have it brought to my place up the road –that’s on top of paying FULLPRICE. THISWASAFTERTELLINGME how EASY it was for«her guy»(?) friend(?) supplier(?) to bring it in from Richmond without disassembling it(if it’s real it should not have been easy because it would be too heavy) «Right out of his truck in one piece…» So now I’m wondering if I’ll even go back. There’s something not right when you can’t tell me where an item is coming from & what it’s history is …“who is this ‘supplier’?”. I will be selling a beautiful modern crystal light that I bought brand new from Robinson’s Lighting on Cambie, in 1997. It hung over ONE table –I have the original bill of sale… it’s frame and chain are cast brass plated in 24kt gold. Like art –the provenance of a good light is kept with it… if you don’t know art –or lighting –or jewellery –KNOWYOURDEALER. Too many questions for me to be comfortable paying the kind of $$$$ being asked –actually …not even asked… it’s a second hand store and you can trade on vintage all you want. She’s really charming though… go have a look… don’t listen to me xoxo :)

Very well organized store. They don’t have much, however, appreciate that it is a clutter free zone where things are respectively displayed. Honestly I couldn’t find anything that was my taste, however, the prices for what the are(compared to other places) is slightly high. The lady at the til was super sweet and helpful. I looked at the prices and walked out. I even found some vintage cups that my mom would love and a couple of steel tumblers my girl friend would love but just walked out due to price. I’ve been to some high end places and they were even cheaper than this place.

Very poor customer service; the owner ignored us as we walked in even though we were the only ones there. Would a token«Hello» kill you? The place reeked of pot as well. She would not negotiate on prices(everything is way overpriced), so we will not be back. Don’t waste your time, folks.

I’ve done considerable research and checked around at no less than 5 different shops that carry 60’s vintage Danish furniture in Vancouver. I recommend that others do the same if they can. It’s a great feeling to be able to make well informed decisions when buying this sort of thing. Having both bought and sold, I thought Attic Treasures was the best of all worlds. It’s not a pricey shop with a showroom and fancy website, extra staff and high overhead that gets passed on to you. Nor is it a hole-in-the-wall with junk stacked to the ceiling and falling out onto the sidewalk. The woman who runs this place definitely knows what she’s doing. She buys a lot of great quality stuff, she’s really pleasant to deal with and she has a great selection of things that are competitively priced. Also know that vintage modern furniture and décor is really popular these days so basically it comes down to supply and demand.

A blast into the past if you’re looking for kitchen stuff back in the 70s &80s lol.esp. with those milk ceramic mugs w/flowers…$ 10 a pop! now i wished i kept a few extra mint sets… Moderately priced… furniture, wall decoration, lamps… more than just a tourist place.

i bought 4 stamped niels koefoed«eva» rosewood chairs, beautifully restored, for $ 200 each, and an unstamped kuypers teak table for $ 400, nicely restored — this was back in 2004 or so and their charm is such that i still use them today. i hadn’t at all been thinking mid-century modern until i wandered in there, and i was pleased to see how well-priced they were compared with anything contemporary. if you’re in vancouver, especially coming from nyc, sf or la — where stuff like this is much more appreciated and difficult to find — this shop is a necessary stop.

As is the case with many«vintage» shops, so long as I walk through the doors of Attic Treasures knowing that I’m not going to get a deal, I can handle the slightly insane prices. That said, with some of the best and most well-curated mid-century modern inventory in Vancouver, it’s easy to see how she gets away with the high dollah bills on the price tags. This place is a modernist-lover’s wet dream. Clean, well organized, beautiful teak, tubular steel, bent wood, Scandinavian modern, this shop is beautiful. And, bonus: everything is in ridiculously excellent condition thus require little to no refurbishing. Now if she could just lower the price(even 10−15%!) then I’d be shopping here aaaall the time.

over the years we have picked up some beautiful glass wares, bowls, dishes and quite recently a gorgeous teak mid-century sofa that we absolutely love! shopped all over antique alley for the sofa before finally ending up here and the price difference was phenomenal! we would have spent double for the sofa at mid-century modern home on front street and it was in pretty perfect shape with like new upholstery. we always find the owner very pleasant to deal with and accommodating. not too sure about the folks that found it over priced, maybe they don’t get around much… after all you are dealing with collectable items.

This is the best store for finding a deal on vintage mid century furniture or objects. Cheaper than comparable stores in this city. People who complain about their prices can’t know much about vintage. The stuff is hard to find here compared to other cities because not much was sold or bought here in the day. I have furnished my home from this store over the years. The prices are LOW, and the proprietor is super friendly.

I have to agree with what all the other reviewers are saying about this place. Lots of great mid-century stuff all in really good condition but most of her stock is way, way over priced. She needs to seriously consider dropping the price on everything by at least 30%. I bought a coffee table there(which I love) but the only reason I could afford it was because she was having a 50% off renovation sale. $ 350? Not a chance. $ 175. That’s much better thanks.

OK. so I wanna give more stars because this store always has amazing mid-century finds… BUT…they are sooooooooo stupidly over priced it’s embarrassing for the owner… at least it should be… I am thinking that since she has been raping the wallets of Vancouverites for years. she doesn’t mind selling beat up falling apart 1950’s plant stands for $ 200 when Value Village would sell the same piece for $ 19…although most of the pieces are in great shape but still too much. I do like to look through the shop now and then just to see if she has come to her senses and has priced items reasonably. never happens… BUT there is a 50% renovation sale right now and items are almost affordable… almost…

Whoa man, like totally tubular! I don’t know — I was going for a 1970’s vibe, you know, back in the day when Woodstock and hippies were as common as eco-chic clothing and reusable bags. Actually think of an episode of That 70’s Show! The retro furniture store has mid-Century treasures. Coloured everything: dishes in yellow, mugs in black and white circa 1980’s cheesy George Michael videos, kitchen appliances, those old rotary telephones, bread holders, large paintings of horses running and neon signs, and Russel Wright tableware. Everything is in great condition. No ripped couches here honey!

Attic Treasures buys, sells, and rents 1930s-1970s furniture and household items. You will likely feel like you are back in grandma’s kitchen as you discover items from her past(and yours). I stumbled upon my mom’s dishes. $ 25 for a cup and saucer! I better tell her to take care of those things. I can’t say that I was inspired to buy(or rent) anything, but I am inspired to check out my grandma’s garage full of boxes on my next visit home.

I can’t help being pulled in two directions about this place and the review I am about to give. On one hand I get excited whenever someone even mentions the word«mid-century modern» it conjures up a ton of ideas about the past, a sense of familiarity, and a nostalgia that we can all relate to(well most of us). So for that simple fact I like coming here because this is exactly what this store offers. No reproductions here, and a no frills atmosphere is what you get. Pieces of the past neatly displayed for you to look at and touch. Almost everything is in excellent condition. Now. on the other hand is where I am ripped from the clutches of my ideas and dream(so dramatic I know) and just about dye when I discover the sticker price. so if your into mid-century and you don’t mind shelling out a few bucks then stop by and check out the wares… oh and they do consignment if you have something you excited to part with!
