When I need a caffeine kick start to my day, I stop by this café. Their espresso based drinks have the triple threat I look for in my coffee, full flavor, enough caffeine to snap me out of my morning zombie state and no bitter after taste. I really like their private reserve espresso. They have an organic version available from time to time that is more earthly tasting and not as strong but their regular blend is by far my favourite. It used to be that their coffee costed more than other places. However, their prices haven’t risen much over the years. Now my tradition of an Americano to start the day costs less at Artigiano’s than Starbucks and it tastes far better. The shop itself is small and usually busy, making it a great place to socialize but not so much for studying. They have pastries and paninis available. However, I find their pastries are usually pretty dry so I usually pass on those and just go straight to the coffee.

I always come to this location of artigiano when I have to pick up something quick to eat. Artigiano has good sandwiches with interesting flavours, but I don’t really like they breakfast wrap. The service is slow at times. Generally ok.

Honestly, was a little unimpressed with this experience. I walked in to a very loud lunch time crowd and general confusion. I waited only a few brief minutes in line and selected a sandwich that seemed about right for my craving. The man at cash was pleasant but gave me no instruction as to where I should wait for my takeout lunch. While waiting was was addressed by a few staff looking to see that I had been helped and for that I was appreciative and impressed. Several people who had come in after me got their food first and left while my sandwich — which was pre-made– took almost 10 minutes to toast. When the young lady saw that my cheese hadn’t fully melted, she put the sandwich in the microwave which turned the bread into a mushy mess. I can’t imagine studying here due to the volume though some people were giving it a try. I will give it a try again at a quieter hour to see if the general experience can improve.

Their Spanish latte is very good as are their sandwiches. A very busy place so grab a seat while you can. The only thing I would change is that their large size coffee is only the normal size of a medium coffee elsewhere. For the cost of what you pay for a medium it should be a bigger size.

Best coffee in the area. I also recommend the salmon panino and the apple crostata. Very polite staff and clean environment. Keep up the great work!

Barista recommended a Spanish latte — I don’t know much about coffee but ended up really enjoying the drink. So much so that I was craving another one the entire next day. I believe a Spanish latte has condensed milk and some spices in it? Mine was decaf iced and not too sweet. Will def be back to try again. Friendly and quick service on a Friday afternoon. $ 10 for two drinks.

The coffee at this location is not as good as the other locations, which would be fine in and of itself, however the service behind the counter is horrible. Rarely see a smile when I go in and the crew behind the counter always seems to look and act like they are somewhere else. The last time I went the barista gave me a freshly brewed drip coffee in a to-go cup without a sleeve(and the sleeves were at another counter 10 feet away). Needless to say I ended up burning my fingers(through the cup, not from spilling) trying to make it to the counter.

This is tough because I really like their product. For some reason, this location just isn’t the same as those downtown, etc. Good coffee beans but inconsistent service. I find myself looking to see who is behind the espresso machine before I order. Their sandwiches and fruit cups are good. A bit pricey for what you get but at least the bread, etc tastes quality for pre-made fast food.

This place is always busy and they make a decent latte, however, not as fast and or efficient as the chain stores. I can never find seating at this location, therefore, it is always a grab and go situation for me by default. Decent service.

My how the mighty have fallen, and how the standards have dropped. Since the falling out with the previous owners, and the shift in beans, the coffee does not taste anywhere near as good. But, that is not my current peave. My current peave is the lack of training here at the chain that led the world(!) in barista expertise and that raised the bar for all in terms of introducing and perfecting latte art. The last few times to this location, the Latte Art has been a complete fail. Drinks were prepared by at least three different baristas, and the best you could say was that there was some sort of ‘blob’ on the surface. Yesterday, a real treat. Two blobs. What next, freeze dried coffee and powdered whitener? Knowing how much the rent is at some of the locations, one would think management would be interested in investing a cent or two in staff training to try and maintain some sense of a standard. As for the baristas, really? No sense of pride? C’mon. Get it together guys. ‘Caffe Art’ is fast becoming a bad joke.

Hot chocolate didn’t have chocolate in it, bagels were«toasted» using a panini press aka hardly warmed but a few burnt lines, one bagel was rotten or something(stinky stank, couldn’t even swallow a bite). Standard Kerrisdale.

Caffe Artigaino is my favour coffee shop! They got few medals for the world barista championship and Canadian barista championships. Sounds good enough? Seriously, they make excellent cappuccino and other specialty coffee. The customer service was great and friendly.

This is counter service only, with all food prepared in take out containers. We ordered a southwest chicken salad and a black bean, chick pea and corn cup with red pepper and cilantro. Both came with small cups of salad dressing. I asked if the dressings were gluten free and was told they didn’t know. I asked to see the original container and was told they didn’t have it. Mine was labelled vinaigrette, so I decided to take a chance. When I opened the container, it was a thick 1000 island colour. Definitely not vinaigrette! I elected not to eat it, but to eat my salad cup without dressing. The chai latte with soy was nice.

Love this location, although the staff is not really chatty here. It also gets a bit messy here but I’m willing to let that go since it’s artigiano and they were probably dealing with a rush before I got here. They always serve the best espresso, perfect shot every single time.

I like Caffe Artigiano more than Starbucks and Bean Brothers but I’d give this location 3.5 stars. Reason is because this location closes too early(5:30pm on a Saturday), not as well maintained as other locations and the coffee isn’t the same as previous. It has good patio and they make my americano just the way I like it. The bench seating along the wall is good but can be cramped at times. I am 6′ tall so that could be it too. The workers are friendly and I don’t leave smelling like roasted coffee, like some other places I go to. Kerrisdale isn’t as busy as other areas however to close at 5:30pm on a Saturday isn’t right. Starbucks and Bean Brothers closes a lot later and those locations are usually busy so it would make sense for Caffe Artigiano to close later too. Also you would think being in Kerrisdale, it would be well maintained. Sometimes the garbage bins inside are full and there is coffee stain on the bench. Something else I wish they had was free wifi, or even wifi in general. Almost every other coffee shop offers wifi, even independent shops but guess they don’t want you to sit too long. If they had wifi and opened later, I’d give more stars for this location. Still I like this place.

Not sure whats missing here. Every time I see pictures of their coffee it makes my mouth water and want to run in and grab a coffee. I went there twice and each time I ordered a Mocha and a Latte. They both tasted very strong for me and I don’t know if it is just my tastebuds or what but it tasted like alcohol and it totally was not what I imagined the coffee to taste like. I do give this place credits for looking nice, having a variety of foods/coffees, but my tastebuds just do not agree with this place.

Best coffee. Leagues above starbucks and Bean Brothers in my(limited) experience. The only thing starbucks does better is that they have lower calorie(sugar free flavor syrup) options. Don’t get a super friendly vibe from the staff every time, but I don’t really care, they still make the drinks well.

Hmmm… Looks like management had been letting this particular branch of Artigiano slip. And you would figure that because its in Kerrisdale it’s probably a lot more maintained and nice, but it’s not! I’ve reviewed other Artigianos before with glowing reviews, I’m no hater. I was really disappointed. My usual location is in West Van/Downtown but sometimes I’ll venture to the Burnaby location and other locations since I’m a pretty big fan. I’ve always admired how they keep their shops really clean, tidy and cozy. It just didn’t happen here… it was messy, garbage all over the floor, garbage cans were full to the point of blowing up, coffee stained pretty much all the furniture. Either they had a whole crew of newbies working here or something went wrong, but even the coffee was off. My regular — caramel macchiato — was messed up. Forgot the caramel, when I asked he said it was there when CLEARLY I watched the barista make it and NOT touch the caramel bottle. Terrible. I wanted to go and dig up the tip I left them. I’ll just head to Starbucks when in Kerrisdale.

A solid 3.5, with enough patio seating, even with its cheesy red plastic chairs. Nice bench seating all down the wall. Definitely an upgrade in décor & comfort level over a starbucks. Metered parking.
