This is an American thing and I am surprised that it is still around. There are so many choices on the menu that it is very overwhelming. The shakes have a variety as well. It took me a good 20 minutes to decide. These aren’t gourmet burgers, they’re fast food burgers. They taste kind of like Wendy’s Burgers. Price margin is at par. Customer service was decent. For fast food burgers these are actually good. I just wish that their hours of operation were a little more user friendly for the late night.

Great burger(for fast food) but its not cheap, they want to charge an extra 3.50 for fries and a drink so your average bill is over 10 bucks per person… I’d rather just spend the five extra dollars and hit up a sit down.

I stepped into this place once while coming out of Pacific Center. I have seen the poster board they had with all these deliciously looking burgers and decided to give it a try. What a good choice that was. For the last 3 months, I have been a regular goer to Carl’s. The quality of meat is just 100 fold better than other competitors(I’m looking at you A&W with your ‘authentic hormone-less beef’… let Alone McDonald’s or Burger King…), their buns are full grain and delicious, and the service is just excellent(the servers not only bring you the food at your table, but also give recommendations intuitively if they see you hesitating. Every time I went there, I came out full(very full), and happy… I know of few places that can keep this regular consistency of excellent service AND food, all for under $ 20/meal. It is slightly pricier than other burger places, but it is truly worth it.

I don’t do reviews for chain restaurants, but I’m gonna make an exception for Carls Jr. Not only their burgers are way better than McD’s or Burger King(Just talking about fast food burger places in the neighborhood) but they also have a low carb option for all their burgers. So you can get any of the sandwiches in a lettuce wrap. So people who are into keto diets, you can add this place in your«Keto friendly restaurant» list. Also the staff is very friendly. Food: Good for a fast food chain Service: Good Ambiance: Casual Worth the price: Yes

I am so ridiculously obsessed with Carls Jr now that I have discovered it! I have visited 4x in one week and the manager already knows me. She actually already recognized me upon Visit #2 which was awesome! El Diablo burger — amazing!!! Jalapenos, habanero mayo sauce, and jalapeño poppers on the burger. Genius! Guac & bacon burger — delicious, ample sauce. I even got an avocado facial… 2 for 1 bang for your buck right here! **Do not eat with a date around. Avocado facial may not be a turn-on.** Jalapeño poppers — yummy, good buttermilk ranch dip accompanying. Overpriced, though. Bacon ranch fries — ZOMG!!! Nom nom nom. Ice cream sandwich — Incredible! I was surprised and loved the fact that the whole sandwich was frozen. I actually expected room temperature cookies to be grabbed and a big scoop of ice cream to be smacked and ‘wiched. This rocked my work for $ 3. Oreo milkshake — stellar! Everything is awesome here! The staff is very kind. So glad I will be moving work locations again, very soon, so my wallet can fatten back up and my thighs can slim down: D

I think I failed. I was told this place is famous for its burger. So I asked the person taking the order and he said the popular burger is the guacamole bacon burger. So I ordered that. Unfortunate they are famous for the fried chicken burger. Well the guacamole bacon was really good. Lots of sauce. It has a kick to the burger. A bit spicy. To me I find the burger a but ordinary. Maybe next time I will try the chicken burger.

While I was walking on the streets of Vancouver doing some shopping with my wife I see that«STAR» from far away and I’m like… what??? They have Carl’s Jr in Canada??? The answer was yes they do. I hadn’t been to a Carl’s in years in LA and the menu was really unfamiliar. I thought it was funny that they didn’t have the«6 dollar burger» which wasn’t really 6 bucks(it was less) in the States on the menu because all the burgers are over 6 bucks… that I had to just laugh. The 6 dollar burger if we had such a thing would have to be called the 16 dollar burger in Canada because everything is more expensive here. Meal combos which are not doubled(meat) were typically around or over 10 dollars each. The food is big, the boxes they come in are big. Doubles are huge. I just ended up getting an extra bacon Western on a fresh baked bun and my wife had the bacon avocado which also comes on a fresh baked bun. I had upgraded my fries to a bacon poutine which I’m guessing they don’t have in California. They did have bacon ranch fries but I wanted poutine. I hadn’t had poutine in about a week! They give you a number when you order and you just have a seat where ever and they end up bringing it to you. The seating is really limited here. There are maybe 2 or 3 tables for 2 on the level of the counter and about 10 or so tables«below» on street level with only a few tables that are more than 2 seaters and they also have a window facing counter bar style seating. Anyway the staff is really friendly and the people bringing your orders to you ask if there’s anything else they can bring to you. One of them even took my tray and garbage away. I would have done it myself but the employee said he didn’t mind. The food is ok and if I’m going to have a different kind of fast food burger this is a nice alternative from say Wendy’s or McDonald’s. It’s more expensive but the food is different too. I wouldn’t say it’s as good as 5 Guys for a bit more money but it’s decent. The fries are about the size and shape as what McD’s offers, shoestring style.

It’s been almost a year to the day(shy of a mere 3 days), but I’m back visiting CJ somewhat regularly and thought I’d update on their progress as an establishment. They seemed to have rectified a number of problems… I’m no longer getting burned burgers, burned buns, or burned breakfast sandwiches. In addition, the biscuits seem to have some flavor now, either that or I’ve just gotten used to them. Everyone on the staff there, as of today anyway, is friendly and helpful, and I haven’t seen either of the staff involved in the previous incident I wrote about since returning as a customer to the store. I’ve upped the review rating from 1 star to 3 stars, and it loses the other two stars based on the fact that a) the prices are horrendous, and b) the food, while«ok», is still not crazy-spectacular, nor is it on-par with the US operations. But it’s convenient, it’s close, and as I said. they’ve improved.

I stuffed my face. Feel guilty cuz my cheat day was yesterday… But It was Nom Nom Nom. Thumbs up for THREE(wow barely happen) kind of combo with chicken breast. I got the BBQ chicken sandwich combo. My Friend got the chicken club combo. I tasted both and I like both. And 0.50 cent for a large(HUGE I should say… I was like WHAT???) pop. Good deal. Awesome and friendly customer service. I will come back cuz I love the charcoal taste so much!

Great to get a taste of «home», I just wish they had the turkey burgers, I love them and always order them whenever I’m back in California. The service is always very friendly. I highly recommend the Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger(since they don’t have the turkey burgers), a true classic.

Burger Craving Review… I’m disappointed. This was nothing like all the advertisements that I have seen. None of those large burgers, sexy meats, and overall craziness was transferred over to the actual store… I know the physical burger itself isn’t supposed to be as glamorous as the one that Kate Upton was holding. but this is ridiculous. best false advertising ever. So now the actual review. Carls Jr is a fast food burger joint that hopes to make a bit more money by overcharging their meals by a couple bucks. The justification to this is waffle fries, blue cheese poutines, adding«BBQ» or «terriyaki» in front of something, and other gimmicky things like that. The burgers itself was decently sized, it was a decent mess to eat, but over all it was nothing memorable. For a franchise that has generated so much hype over the past couple years, I just wished they gave more. It appears many other reviews think the same way, so here’s to hoping they see these reviews and give us the ridiculousness that they have promised.

Closest thing to In-N-Out Burgers or American chain store burgers in Vancouver. Appetizers are great, fries and their BBQ Burger are musts! I like their burgers because there is a lot of meat and toppings, not skimping like Mcdonalds or other places. Don’t forget the milkshake! About $ 15 – 20 for a nice filling meal. Maybe start reviewing the food and not the price guys? Good A.

I have fond memories of eating at at Carl’s Jr post drinking when I lived in California. Big burgers, waffle fries and hand-scooped shakes. However, this Canadian location is a tad bit overpriced. $ 12 for combo!!! Seriously — was there truffle oil in my fries NO. Foie on burger NO. So what the… At that price point, folks head over to 5 guys on Robson or find a Vera’s. Another tip — they are pretty crafty by only offering you medium or large on your combo, but the price posted is for a small. Shame

It’s fast food. Again, I know what to expect. But seriously, for this: $ 11.75? Even though it was a double patty, bacon, cheese, and a small onion ring, with fries? Everything being frozen and all. Really? Granted, I am willing to try everything at least once, this is not worth repeating. I walk by this place a lot. It’s busy during the weekday lunch hour and I’ve seen the line ups. I came on a weekend. No crowds at all. $ 11.75 for this combo and I didn’t even order soda. I had bottled water. Should have asked for tap water. Even In-n-Out is at a fraction of this price.

I feel a little let down by this Canadian version of an American fast food chain. I got that feeling when you think back to a childhood memory and you say to yourself«this isn’t as good as I remember». When I was a kid(20 ahem… something years ago) I travelled many times to the US, in particular California, and each trip I would go out of my way looking for that Carl’s Jr Star, signage. I would always order their french toast for breakfast and the western burger for lunch. Imagine my renewed excitement at hearing there was a new Carl’s Jr opening here in Vancouver! My boyfriend and I decide to check it out after a day of shopping for our new place, neither of us felt like cooking that night. I was wowed by all the different items on their menu and they still had the western burger. I decided to try a different burger and went with one of their promo burgers… can’t remember the name of it. In the burger it had pulled pork with patty and crispy fried onions. It had some southern kind of name: Louisiana or Memphis. The burger it self was just OK. It could have tasted a little fresher the pork and the onions tasted like they were not made same day and the fries were just meh. My boyfriend ordered one of their Classic burgers, thinking that maybe it was a speciality or signature burger. To his dismay as soon as he took the burger out of it’s box it fell apart luckily we were sitting at a table so it didn’t fall into his lap. The burger was wrapped in paper but the burger was so runny that it soaked through and tore the paper as it came apart. When he tried to take a bite it just disintegrated; the burger was made upside down with the patty on top of the fixings. He had to ask for a knife and fork. As we were finishing up my boyfriend decided to fill out a comment card, stating his dismay at the fact his burger was inedible. He worded it in a way meant to be tongue and cheek, and light hearted. We happened to be sitting at a table across from the order counter. My boyfriend sees the comment drop box on the counter and puts in his card. As we’re getting ready to leave we notice, we assume is a manager figure(they were not in uniform), took the card from the box and read it while standing at the counter. After reading the card she calls over one of the staff, I assume the member who put the burger together… she had such a look of disgust and contempt on her face as she spoke to her employee. She instructed her employee to «read the card and burn it». We’re thinking wow 0 for 2! Over all: Burgers: — disappointed and feel let down, the American version of Carl’s Jr is much better in quality and ingredients. Milkshake: — not made from real ice cream even though their signage says«hand scooped», they do not use real fruit and instead use a syrup. Service: — friendly, though feel sorry for the staff that they have no real positive/constructive leadership to learn from. I may give it another try in a few months after I hope they’ve worked out the hiccups.

An American favorite lands in BC! I made the trek over to Carls Jr. on my lunch break with a few coworkers. I was kind of surprised at the space that they decided to use, as they lay out is rather, well… Awkward. It is a very thin room, but very lengthy — think Tunnel Nightclub, if you remember it. I had a guacamole burger and added jalapeños because I am crazy and love spice. I had literally inhaled half my burger before my coworkers had them unwrapped. The avocado in the guac was fresh and creamy, the burger was actually moist and cooker properly. Service as fairly quick and they bring your made-to-order burgers right to your table using the«take this huge number on a stick» system. Overall … But it was the price that got me. $ 22 for two burgers, two fries and two pops? Gahhh. Don’t get me wrong, the burgers were delicious, but not $ 22 delicious. Pop is pop and the fries were rather blah as well. Good for the«experience» but it won’t be a frequent lunch haunt for me.

I’ve been wanting to try this place because I’ve heard great things about their criss cut fries, or more popularly known as «waffle» fries. It’s kind of at an awkward location, since it’s not immediately close to the skytrain — I probably wouldn’t have known this place existed if I hadn’t looked it up specifically on my phone. We walked in and noticed that the seating area was EXTREMELY nice — leather couches and a modern looking set up. I was actually pretty impressed by how it didn’t look like a cheap fast food joint. We ordered the criss cut fries(only comes in 1 size — medium) to «eat-in» — they give you a number that you’re supposed to put at the edge of the table and they bring your order out to you so you don’t have to stand and wait for your food. The wait was kind of long. 10 minutes for a single order of fries, which is much slower than what I’m used to at fast food restaurants. But the server apologized for the wait, so I didn’t mind too much in the end. The fries were delicious! Nicely seasoned, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the portion was bigger than I thought. Overall I’m impressed! I’d definitely be back to try their burgers

That’s for their milk-shake, maybe not diner style like Smile’s or Modern Burger, but sure beats the rest of the quick service restaurants like Burger King, McD’s etc. You do see them hand scoop, just right thickness.
