This spot is off Main. Parking can be tough. I came here looking for their whole wheat bread and asked for the ingredients(my son has allergies) and they guy printed it out. The customer service was great. Helpful and informative. He also cut the bread in slices. I’ve decided when ever I am in Vancouver for the week, I will get my bread fresh from Cobs. Loaf of bread is good prices. Fresh made and sliced if you want. Other pastries are delicious as well.

You’re probably all wondering why 1 star… It’s COBS Bread after all. I was just at the Main St. COBS Bread location with my wife to buy some scones for this breakfast tomorrow. They had a full tray of Lemon Blueberry scones top row. They looked delicious from afar. We ordered the Lemon Blueberry and were told those were not for sale. Really, an entire tray of scones not for sale? The worker said they were 3 days old and for display only. Gross… that doesn’t make sense at all, how long were you expecting to keep them around for? So he told us the scones beneath that tray were fresh so we bought some of those… I was feeling a bit uneasy about buying them after we found out they were in the vicinity of the old ones. so I hope they are ok. Why would you even keep them around if they’re not sellable? Day olds, ok fine everyone sells day olds. But 3 days? I always thought of COBS as FRESH, which it is and i’ve never had a problem until today. How fresh is the rest of the bread on your shop? Isn’t this a health risk? So my recommendation is to stay away from this COBS for now. COBS Franchise owner: Please train your employees better and ensure they have taken and understand food safe. Leaving a full tray of scones just for display purposes really isn’t a good sales tactic when you’re selling FRESH bread. I really don’t blame the guy at the counter. He was pretty nice to everyone in line and I’m thankful he knew that the scones were 3 days old. But seriously, just throw them out if you can’t sell them.

I called in to see if they had sourdough cob and they sure did! They held 1 for me and Andre helped me when I arrived with a nice smile. You know he loves what he does when because he spoke passionately about Bread and what would go perfectly with my spinach dip dish! 5 stars for his service and knowledge. Great experience at this cobs location! Thanks Andre!

Was strolling down Main Street on a lazy afternoon and popped in to check out their scone selection. The store clerk was very friendly and helpful. They had a lot of scone varieties, including sweet, fruity, and savoury. The bf had to step in to make an executive decision to get the Cheese & Chive, and it was a very good scone indeed. Now it’s time to share what I really enjoyed — the Cinnamon Buns!!! $ 6.75 for 6 mini buns, what a bargain! After reheating them in the microwave, they became pieces of soft chewy gooey heaven. Mmmmmmm, best impulse buy ever. High quality baked goods at a reasonable price — I approve.

There was a Cobs that opened in my hometown of Toronto in Kensington Market which I avoided like the plague because it was trying to steal local independent«My Market Bakery’s» crowd. Seeing as in my area I don’t see any local bakeries to support I have no issues with spending a fortune here making myself fat. I like that they sell french bread in half loafs. Single forever alone people such as myself would def waste a regular size one. Oh btw. I hate you guys and your fruit custard danishes. You do realize my current gym efforts are because you sell this item right?

Why would a gluten-allergic person write a review about a bakery, you ask? Well, I was picking up buns and goodies for my dad’s birthday, and from the moment I walked in the door, the smiles and waves and overall quality of service of the people who work here lulled me into such a sense of neighbourlyness, that I almost forgot my allergies and just dove right in. Fortunately for my health, I left the warmth of the place stay in the bag of blueberry tea-time and apple and custard tea-time, and got the rave reviews of my family instead as they enjoyed them.

I was craving for fresh and good breads. I found the scones and croissants size were a bit smaller and expensive then before. Well… just try to spoil myself once a while. That’s ok. LOL The chocolate croissant was so delicious. The date fruit scone and banana chocolate chip scone were fantastic!

The Terra Bread crowd always poo poo Cobs Bread but if Terra Bread is a Mercedes then Cobs Bread is a Ford Truck, you know what I am saying? If Terra Bread is a rich widow who summers at her home in Spain then Cobs Bread likes to take the family out camping and drink beers by the lake, you catch me here? If Terra Bread … oh nevermind, Cobs is good.

when i want to really spoil myself with good fresh and tasty bread and baked goods that i KNOW i shouldn’t be eating… this is the place to do it! after 2 years of not getting sick, i finally caught the nasty bug and felt i deserved some bad comfort food… a quick stop for a chocolate brownie sundae from dq. and a detour to COBS! what a mouth watering display of soft doughy delights awaiting to be handpicked with love from worker to glutton(yes, i am referring to myself). i stood in front of that glass display for a solid 10 minutes deciding. weighing out the options… cinnamon buns… hot crossed buns… croissants…jellied danishes… tarts…strudels…cheesy breads… garlic breads… oh, if only i could take it all home! i finally settled for a cinnamon bun covered with icing =) and a big blueberry and raisin pull apart bread bun thing. mmmmmmm… so soft. so sweet. so perfect. every single bite! it would be soo cool if cobs did a gluten-free cob line like artisan breads!!! le sigh~ one can only dream…

If you’re looking for fancy gourmet sourdough rustic rye type bread then go elsewhere, but if you want top-notch everyday comfort food bread made fresh, with a few tempting options for those special occasions then Cobs is the best. Nothing beats their crusty pasta dura loaves, cut into doorsteps and smothered with butter and strawberry jam. Oh, except perhaps for thick slices of their sesame-coated plain white tin loaves fresh from the toaster. Cobs is a transplant from Australia, where it’s known as Baker’s Delight. I became a fan when I lived there so I was really excited to see how successful they’ve been over here. This also explains my favourite Cobs treat, the cheesymite scroll — a spiral of white bread rolled up with cheese and Vegemite before baking. Two words of warning drawn from past experience — first, for some reason you can only get their excellent hot dog buns at the weekend so plan ahead for midweek barbecues — they will do them to special order at other times. Second, never feed lekkerbrot to small children unless you are prepared for diaper changing to become an extreme sport.

Another favorite on my places to get good carbs… always fresh and delicious. Cobs does bread right! This is my neighborhood location and I have become a frequent visitor… they are even starting to know who I am. which I really love. makes you feel oh so important! I was in yesterday and they had my Lekkerbrot bread already sliced and in the bag before it was my turn in line. I was so happy I decided to buy even more carby goodness and get some cinnamon scones. ummm FANTASTIC… and some cranberry walnut bread. also pretty friggin’ fantastic! I also recommend there cinnamon buns with the icing. they are really moist and gooey and the icing isn’t too sweet…

Mmm… nothing beats the smell of freshly baked bread and at Cobs Bread you’ll find some delicious concoctions to choose from. Great prices and great flavours combine to create a large selection of brown, multigrain, white, and fruit breads. There are cheese scones, sweet scones, croissants, flax seed bread, apricot roles(my favourite) and more. Cobs Bread beats supermarket bread hands down for freshness and taste.
