Great coffee and desserts with an impressive section of teas. Yummy looking sandwiches too! Lovely atmosphere; great place to hang out for an hour.

This is a quaint Parisian style café on Main St. The décor includes some great retro pieces from the 70s. As for coffee, it’s perfectly strong. I usually get the long americano, but the Stumptown cold brew is the cold version of perfectly strong coffee. I love the lemon bar at this café. SO good-not too sweet but enough tangy-ness. It goes well with a coffee or tea. The quiche here is also delicious, and they offer a good selection of fresh sandwiches with healthy grain bread. I usually return to this place to grab a coffee with a lemon bar or a flaky pastry. Yum!

Super lovely interior. They have Stumptown coffee, which is so amazing. Their selection of baked goods is fresh and it smells amazing inside then Café. My friend had a hot chocolate and said it was really good, but very sweet. The employees weren’t super friendly, they weren’t rude or anything. They just didn’t really make much of an effort to be friendly. I’d go back though!

Really cute café that serves good coffee. However, the customer service could really use some help. I’ve been here 3 times in the past couple months, and not once has any employee even cracked a smile or tried to be friendly. They haven’t been rude, they just seem unhappy or maybe they don’t like their job? This kind of attitude really spoils the atmosphere, and makes me not want to return. Too bad, cuz the place is really adorable.

Came in for quiche + coffee yesterday. The service was awesome, the staff gave lots of recommendations and insights on different pastries and drinks. Also love the ambiance — the paintings, rugs, bare wooden furniture give it a cool balance between minimal and rustic. Will definitely visit again.

While we like the food, not sure about the customer service. Sometimes good, sometimes comes with attitude. As an aside, we prefer to support local businesses that become a positive member of their community rather than try to paint a negative impression(or put pressure) on their neighbours/competitors.

I seem to gravitate towards places with misty windows and greenery everywhere, but I can’t complain! Their baked goods are absolutely lovely, my favourite being the quiche. Somehow, it is lighter and fluffier than any other quiche I’ve had/made, and it even had a little jiggle in it!!! The feta, tomato, and rosemary really set it off, it was incredible. Their caramel chocolate tart was also divine, amazingly smooth and rich although a touch sweet for my taste. Although the service is a little slow, it’s worth it as it’s a lovely, comfortable, and beautiful little shop so I don’t mind spending a little more time here. If you work on Main Street, let them know for a little surprise :3

Beautiful gem on Main street. I wish I can come here and play«sit pretty» all day. It is cozy and kind of girly in a way. They have a unique choices of desserts including mini meringues with cardamon flavor and rosewater flavor. They are too pretty to eat. I don’t know if it is me but coffee portion feels quite large here. 18oz latte came in a bowl.

I have to say they’ve pulled up their socks since the Frenchman(sold, left?) the business. Turnover is still prevalent which is kind of common for coffee shops. It just means that the person at the counter is always new and a bit on the slow side, needing to ask questions of their coworkers. Coffee is usually pretty good though and the baked goods are delish. Skip the paninis if you’re in a rush though. I agree with another poster. The tables are occupied with hipsters staring at their MacBooks. Would be nice to see them have a time limit.

I love this café. I come here for a weekly treat. coffee, cookie, sandwich, soup– it really doesn’t matter. Everything is made with great care. A local independent gem-of-a-café! There food is made on house… and don’t get me started on their desserts. Not many places use intelligentsia beans, I am more than happy to wait a wee bit to get an amazing cup coffee. This is a neighbourhood store with wonderful food and great character

Decent quality coffee. Average pricing. Service was a tad on the slow side. I sat by the window only to realize while I was sipping coffee that there was 1 half alive bee and at least 6 dead bees/wasps/flies by the window sill. I did not take a picture to ruin other people’s appetite. Cleanliness of the place is questionable as staff obviously are not wiping everything down. I did see one staff member going around cleaning tables, but what about the rest of the shop? Also, there was no air conditioning so the fans were blowing everywhere. I did not mind that part though.

We had a craving for chocolate cake and stumbled in here looking for a fix. Coco et Olive delivered. Their flour-less Belgian chocolate cake was amazing. It took about 30mins to get but that’s all right because they freshly bake it by order! Goey, fresh, warm chocolate cake — Amazing. It also came with fresh cream and salted caramel drizzled on top. I can see that it would be beyond perfect in the winter but I went in the spring and it was a little too warm. Totally worth it though.

There are few times in my life where bad days are made worse by shitty people working where I decide to eat… I get a 30 min lunch break and it’s ended by a school bell so I can’t be late. I go up to this pretentious fakehole and ask for the quiche. I asked if I could get it right away, to go, at which point the snarky guy behind the counter remarks, «what, you want it cold? Cos I could give it to you cold if that’s what you want. No really. I can just give you a cold piece…» Like really? I didn’t know the fresh looking quiche in the front was cold nor did I know they had a slice of the soggy day old one gettin’ going for me in the back… and condescending me? I’m 34 years old and I’m being bullied by a 22 year old hipster who works at a coffee shop with no desire for customer service. Get a fucking life man. They proceeded to take 20 min to «heat» it up and I had to ask for it again. Almost in tears as I have had an awful day and I’m starving and starting to panic about being late and I can see them mocking and laughing at me –like making me upset and late for work is how they get off-… Needless to say it wasn’t really heated at all(I’m not surprised) and they enjoyed every minute of it. I will make it my mission to let everyone know about what happened here. See the photo of my tiny, cold, and sloppy $ 8 piece of sh*t. Ignore my check in tip as well.

Raincouver suits places like Coco at Olive; It’s warmth on a chilly rainy day with Intelligensia coffee, it’s comfort food with home baked goodies that taste like real food with real to goodness ingredients. It’s lovely staff who smile and converse with you. I know why Main St. is the emblazened on the hearts and minds of so many. Gems like Coco et Olive make me exit my DT lair to explore. g

This place makes me WAY too productive. Ok. ok… I know that sounds like a good thing. And some afternoons, it really is… this place is gallery-like quiet even on the busiest of days. The room is soothing and lovely. Very minimalistic with kitschy furniture that begs for a pot of tea, quiche, contemplative sort of moment. And the cream wooden table in the front window? I want it. I want to steal it and bring it home with me and love it forever. The only problem? I’d NEVER get out of the place with this piece in tow, one scrape of the legs on the floor and i’d have every eye on me. It’s quiet you guys… really quiet. My stomach was gurgling in there this morning and I felt like I was putting on a symphony I got so many stares… I come here sometimes when I need to put my head down. They don’t play music. Or when they do, it’s soft and barely audible. So for a spot to work/study: A++ But call me crazy, I like my coffee haunts with a little more pep in their step. I want to get in random conversations about baked goods, I want to jostle into people or snoop what the person next to me is reading and strike up a convo, I want to hum along to that song while I sip(chug) my coffee. Basically — I want to be pleasantly distracted all the time. I have quiet at home — give me pep! The service, like the spot is, you guessed it: quiet. Sometimes can come off as indifferent, but I think that’s just because I generally make a spectacle of myself by accident when i’m here(I walk into the door 9 times out of 10… no idea why). But it’s prompt and they make a half decent latte. However, they DID have a quiche in the display today that looked drool worthy. I didn’t partake but i’ve been thinking about it all day. Must return and investigate. There might be another star in there after-all.

A decent, quaint little café. Lots of hipster appeal. I did not like that most tables were occupied by customers who had long finished their coffee, and had now setup Mac camp. Not sure where the«fine foods» comes in because the counter seemed a little sparse on a Sunday afternoon. They do have a smallish selection of panninis, soups and salads on a chalk menu. I’ll try it again because the coffee was good, and I like the space. For now, it’s just another café. 17⁄30: #30DaysOfYelp
