My go-to café to work and/or chill as they have outlets, WiFi and are open later than most cafés in downtown. It’s also a huge space so you probably won’t have difficulty finding a seat. I’ve only ordered espressos here but I can tell you that they’re fabulous.

I enjoyed my green tea latte here. Ambience was nice. Prices were not surprising. Came here 20 minutes before close one night and the staff was friendly. I would come back and possible study or catch up with friends. I liked the atmosphere.

Had to wait 20 minutes just to get an Americano. Then they gave away my drink twice to the wrong person so I had to wait even longer. Absolutely horrible service. I have them 2 stars because the coffee was good.

Very rude service. We ordered three hot chocolate drinks. They were not hot at all. When asked to make them hotter, the barista said next time you should ask for extra hot… with attitude. Its«hot» chocolate for a reason and it was our first time there, how would we know to order extra hot when hot chocolate should be hot! Then they just put it in a microwave instead of making a new one. We wanted a refund, they refused. After long arguments, they finally made us new ones — still not hot! Very very unpleasant experience I ever had in any café in Vancouver :(

The coffee was decent… pastries were absolutely horrible… I would not have fed them to a dog. My daughter never passes up the chance to eat sweets but after she tried the«fudge brownie» I think she has given up sweets permanently. I didn’t believe it was as bad as she said, so I tried it and nearly threw up.

No no no. No. I’d been here before and it was nifty enough. I thought I’d go here today instead of my old staple, Milano, a block away. Never again. Why? Well, no gripes about the coffee. A reasonably-done 49th Parellel Americano. I sat down at one of the café benches facing Water St to enjoy said Americano and it has a layer of grease on it. It wasn’t wiped last night, or ever as far as I can tell. There’s hair stuck in some of the grease and old food dried to it. It’s 10AM on a Sunday morning so I’m pretty sure it didn’t all just come together early on a Sunday. I’ve no faith or trust in anything here now. Blech.

Worst americano ever. Staff can be arrogant and with attitude. Been there twice, will never come again.

Terrible service I wanted to use the washroom before getting a beverage and the cashier snapped at me saying that washrooms were meant for customers only. My wallet was in hand and I was dressed professionally and I was about to ask a question about snack when she cut me off. After, I Ordered a macchiato and was given a very milky mug of espresso; I’ve had drier cappuccinos. When I clarified that this was indeed a macchiato the barrista said that this is the way that she makes them. Macchiato literally translates to a spot if milk, its supposed to be a shot of espresso with a dollop of foam. If the café is going to make a modification they should clarify on the menu. After a couple sips of «their macchiato» and it not being what I wanted asked her to remake it extra dry. She complained that I shouldn’t have drunk it and should have gotten her to remake it immediately.(girl with florescent pink hair) Other girl was very helpful and made me a wonderful macchiato afterwards.

We had some time to kill before our dinner reservation so decided to stop in at The Coffeebar. I ordered a raisin oatmeal cookie and an americano misto. The cookie was okay. I’ve had better. If we weren’t going to dinner right after I may have ordered a sandwich or wrap. They looked better. The americano misto was okay too. Not bad and not the best I’ve had either.

My PB cookie tasted like old fridge smell — EW! You know when you’ve left ice cubes in the freezer for far too long, and ends up tasting like your old freezer /meat /who else knows what is frozen? Yeah, thats what the PB cookie tasted like. PB chocolate-dipped cookies are one of my favs, so I got one, along with a chai latte. The chai was pretty weak. Not something I particularly enjoyed. But the cookie — I broke off a piece, and it tasted nothing like peanut butter, or maybe it was completely masked by the fridge smell that it absorbed. Its soft, so maybe it picks up smells more easily than the other firmer ones. We tried the oatmeal and chocolate chip as well, which were fine. I went back to ask for an exchange for an oatmeal cookie, and the lady behind the counter said the PB is their best seller, and they just got them in yesterday, that she wouldn’t exchange but that I can buy something else for 50% off. I just paid $ 3 for something that tastes like fridge, and you want me to pay for another? Another worker broke off a piece to try, and he said, «I can see what she’s talking about. it tastes like the fridge». THANKYOU! Even if the cookies were just shipped in yesterday, it was probably very absorbent, or maybe I was served one of the last remaining ones from the previous shipment. They finally gave me my exchange, but the lady wasn’t happy. I felt bad — I get that operating out of Gastown is hard for business owners and can’t be comping food all the time, but as a paying customer, I think its ridiculous to pay for something that is clearly tasting off. Maybe wrap them up, or put them in another compartment within the fridge.

A hip place. Their coffee is smooth in texture and they used real green tea powder for my green tea latte. I don’t know why some of the reviews are low but I found this place pretty amazing and up to par.

Settled for this on a rainy day. Really wouldn’t come here for any other reason. The coffee certainly does not taste as good as its price would suggest it should! The baristas are friendly, however, and know how to make a good affogato. Also, noticed they’re selling(practically) the world’s tiniest macarons for $ 2 which is even more than patisseries like Thierry’s sell larger ones for. It doesn’t make any sense to me. The location and availability of Wi-Fi is really the main selling point here, I can definitely see a hipster working/studying crowd flourishing in this place but other than that, nothing worth going out of your way for. Nice to have tried it at least!

Far better experience in terms of coffee and art draw today compared to the other place I went to earlier(see review on that). The staff here were awesome and warm. Plenty of room in the front and bag. They serve your drink in a double insulted cup instead of those annoying sleeves that fall off. Very good prices. Lots of assortment of gluten free, vegan and sugar free treats(made with dates). Functional tables to actually work. I spent 90 minutes working on my art piece here while people watching. My tea was extremely hot, therefore, it took around 90 minutes to get to drinkable temperature, therefore, it didn’t matter that I was hogging space for 90 minutes. It was either 90 minutes coloring or 90 minutes chatting with friends.

Their coffee was okay. Husband ordered an Americano, he said it wasn’t strong enough. Niece ordered drip coffee, she said it was alright. I ordered mocha, not too sweet from the chocolate and not too bitter from the espresso. Again, just okay. So I guess they’re just… okay. Props for having a cool ambience though. Plus, free WiFi albeit a little spotty, and having a great spot in Gastown.

Oh my god… Why don’t I ever come to Gastown?! Cute café surrounded by a beautiful community. Don’t go too far out though, or you’ll head into sketch-town territory. [It’s a very fine line when it comes to East Van]. To hell with Pros and Cons lists! My latte was very well done and the Barista looked me in the eyes/gave me what I ordered. Nothing to complain about.

This is a fantastic place for coffee and snacks. Their baked good are amazing, and I love the fact they offer a lot of vegan and sugar free options. The hemp bars were so incredible that I bought three. The coffee is also excellent, as they serve 49th Parallel which is one of the best. The Armenian man who helped me, whose name I forget, was one of the nicest, most knowledgeable, friendly and helpful people I’ve ever met. This is one of the best places to grab coffee or an afternoon snack in Vancouver and the attitude is much more relaxed and chill than Revolver.

When you combine at atmosphere, heritage, glass walls, free wifi and chocolate cheesecake, this is an easy repeat biz. Ok, maybe those bricks help out a lot more. a much better date material than starbucks ;) Even driving/parking isn’t as bad as it sounds in Gastown, but it’s in the trendy part, just around the corner of 6 Acres. Accept AMEX!

I don’t get this: Medium Americano is $ 2.65. Large Americano is $ 3.10 Both are two shots. The girl at the counter claimed that it was because of the extra-sized cup. Fair enough, but I had my OWN cup with me. I asked for an extra shot in my Large and the total came to $ 4.87! I had to cancel the order, and got a sour look. My advice: Don’t pay extra for water.
