Its not the best but certainly not the worst. Service is ok and food is ok. Great hungover food but not much else

Mediocre, at best. Came here to take advantage of the free birthday Grand Slam deal. Our server was extremely off-putting when we told him that we wanted the birthday Grand Slam. He quickly said okay and walked away. When we dined here last year for my birthday, our server let me choose which sides I wanted. Since my fiancé and I don’t eat pork, I appreciated being able to choose something other than pork bacon and sausage. So, when our server came back, my fiancé mentioned he doesn’t eat pork and asked if he could substitute. Annoyed, our server reluctantly agreed and left. Our server then came back and asked for ID to prove that it was actually my fiancés birthday and took a photocopy of it. I don’t know what happened at this point, but our servers attitude took a complete 180 and he became pleasant and very accommodating. He checked on us regularly, being extremely nice each time. When we were done our meal, he wished my fiancé a happy birthday, with a smile. Not sure why he wasn’t that nice from the start! As for the food: meh. I had pancakes, eggs, toast, and turkey bacon. My turkey bacon was cold. The rest, you can’t really screw up. It did the trick of filling our stomachs but definitely didn’t leave us wanting more.

You get what you expect :) We ate two times at this location: the staff was nice, and the food was always fresh and tasty. Avocado burger is BAE!

Well, to be fair — normal people should probably not plan Denny’s take-out as their first anniversary dinner. BUT when you’re cold and wet from a long hike in the woods, and want breakfast for dinner at 8pm, and refuse to cook it yourself… options are indeed limited. I opted for a meatless slam with extra hashbrowns; my love chose an American slam, simple enough. However, when arriving after the prescribed 10 – 15 minutes, I learned there had been an error: my slam had no hashbrowns, and my eggs were topped with bacon and sausage. Vegetarianism aside, I have a deep, though long-lost, love of bacon. Add a weak sense of willpower, and I was almost swayed. Thankfully I had a last second reality check: if and when I decide to dine on animal flesh again, it will not be at Denny’s. To her credit, the server was apologetic about the error and assured me it would be corrected quickly. Twenty minutes later, I was handed an order of hashbrowns. BUT20 minutes?! My slam was not remade, just allowed to cool sufficiently, with meat on top, though I was so kindly informed that I would not have to pay extra(!!!) for said meats. The ‘free, extra’ meat considered, the ‘value’ here was«low», while the price only barely moderately so. By the time I drove the 2 minutes to get home, both of our meals were cold(read: cold cold). LUCKILY, this ending to an otherwise perfect day was a clear reminder that being anywhere, eating any thing, was enjoyable because we were together. Love, I love you! Denny’s, not so much. There is a time and place, as long as you know what you’re signing up for!

Cheap and nice place. If you want to eat a lot come here is the best choice for you. And the sever is nice the food not bad. And you can refill the drink. I love Denny’s.

Worst Denny’s I’ve ever been to. You really don’t expect much when you go to eat at a Denny’s, but even for cheap greasy diner food, this place was terrible. Went here on Sunday at 6am on Pride weekend. Place was waaayyy understaffed and the 3 waiter/waitresses there were clearly just done with everything. The Denny’s was about 1⁄3 full, but it still took a good 10 minutes to be greated and seated. Once seated, the waitress hadn’t come to us for another 15ins. We then waited for water and then ordered and 30+ minutes later got our food. Our water glasses were all empty multiple times and were rarely refilled. When our food arrived, it looked and tasted far worse than any Denny’s I’ve ever been to, EVER. So greasy, poor portions, waaayyy too much sauce etc etc. Our waitress spent most of her time leaning on a counter in the drink area or playing music on the juke box.

I arrived here after another place we tried to go was too crowded. I didn’t want Denny’s because they are not that good and this one had horrible reviews, but I was starving. My boyfriend tried to cheer me up by pointing out that they had Gluten Free English Muffins on the menu; I was really craving toast and I’m GF. I was excited and decided to order two to find out that they are out. It was rather upsetting that they were out. Other than that it was typical Denny’s food — nothing spectacular.

Maybe I’ve been spoiled by all the raved breakfast boutiques in this city(and I tend to even eat cheap) but for a breakfast specialty venue like Denny’s their Eggs benny left much to be desired. We were a group of 6, 11pm, seats 1⁄5 full so it’s likely one chef and one clerk. Certain wasn’t busy but wasn’t dead on a Thursday night. Egg benny being my favourite and never seen a prime rib benny I really didn’t need to ponder to decide. The egg was cooked medium– I should never have to see powder yellow yolk in a benny…, prime rib pieces were bare minimal, veges, fries all the same luke warm temperature. English muffin probably toasted but not crispy. Nothing was hot, oh, except for my hot water(no it’s not tea just water). Service was decent. A friend’s Birthday so the regular grand slam was complementary, and somehow he got a dessert too, which I didn’t get for my birthday(though at a different location). Décor was dated but appeared reasonably clean. I’ll try something different next time, I just wanted a protein load being late night.

We went to Dennys last night because my friend’s friend gets a free Grand Slam for his birthday! We were a group of 7, and they gave us a bill with mandatory tipping of over 15%. I thought that was a bit weird, I mean, this is Dennys. And don’t mandatory 15 — 18% tips come into play when you are in a group of 8 or more? I can’t remember the exact name of my food, but it was something like Stay Fit Wraps. I liked my order, it was a soft wrap with cheese, spinach and turkey bacon. One of my friends ordered the chicken skillet, it looked pretty cool in a hot iron plate, and the chicken had a sweet sauce on it. Two others orderes the Eggs Benny, which was all right to me(yes, I taste tested several plates). The strawberry lemonade was very strong in flavour, maybe a little overpowering, but I prefer my flavours stronger than being bland. The nice touch to the evening was that the waitress added a candle to the birthday’s boy dessert. :) Dennys is a great place for a last minute hangout, late night gathering, or a place to grab greasy fare after the nightclub. It’s a very casual place, so don’t expect too much about the food or service, and you’ll be fine.

If you haven’t been to Denny’s, you’re not missing much. Before I go on to how good or not so good the food is, there is one thing I must say. Thanks Denny’s around the world for serving us and feeding us your grub. Last minute breakfast meetings, late night snacks, College pals gatherings after a test. Dennys serves a purpose for meeting spots. The Amway introduction meeting. The small business coffee gathering. That’s what makes these places so great. Meetings and coffee and if you happen to eat the food that’s a bonus. On this last adventure, we were all hungry for some grub after a night of clubbing. Denny’s was here, we didn’t want Pizza or Shawarma’s. We needed a place to hang out, order some food and just chill. It’s never boring at Denny’s too! There’s always something going on at this location. Best thing is that you can still get breakfast at 3am in the morning. And the coffee is a godsend.

A terrible experience! Hardly any beef on my nachos. I found a hair in my burger. Told the server. He looked at it. Took it away without apologizing and never returned to say sorry, offer a discount or replace my meal. And to top it off, the wine glasses are super small. Never returning!!!

Solid 3.5 stars, especially if you like ESL students serving you haha. Actually I should take that back, probably the temporary workers permit but I’ll digress as usual. I only come here for desserts late nite and in this corner spot. Looks like free parking in back but no sir. open 24 hours. small location.

Had dinner here last night after work, because I just wanted a meat and potatoes type meal, went with the Turkey dinner, it was about what I was expecting from Denny’s, super thick gravy, that ended up being pretty pasty once it cooled slightly, broccoli was pretty much baby food … stuffing was the worst thing on the plate BYFAR! Server looked very busy, but it was no excuse for giving me my bill before I was even finished eating. He didn’t even ask if I wanted anything else until the bill was already on the table ! Probably won’t go back unless it’s a last resort type deal …

So was my first ever time at a Dennys and ill admit i was excited to go. After moving here i felt its one of those famous places that everyone loves. Anywho we went on a quite sunday afternoon. Even thought the place didnt appear to be busy there were alot of empty tables with dirty dishes on them. Maybe we had just missed a rush but still not nice to see. Our waiter though he was polite he was running round like a headless chicken and seemed super busy and stressed. There was a wet spot on the floor that our waiter slipped and fell on it TWICE and still didnt mop it up. This made me feel really annoyed that he wasnt concered about a customer or a member of staff falling. Took forever to get our bill as headless chicken was still hoffing and puffing around and then we had to wait again at the till to pay. Wouldnt go back to this location for sure

This is Denny’s, therefore, my standards and expectations going in are marginally low but there is a fine line between low and awful. I came in here with my best friend ’cause it was his B-day and he wanted the Birthday slam. The place wasn’t busy at all for the record. We waited 6 minutes to be seated, no one noticed we were waited out front. We waited 10 minutes for someone to take our order. We waited 25 — 30 minutes for our dinner. How hard is it to heat sausages, bacon, pancakes and eggs? We waited 15 minutes for the bill to come. Thankfully we had a lot of time to kill before a concert but it was a little stupid. They screwed up my order even after repeating the order back to me. The guy had attitude(facial expressions) when I requested that the order be corrected as initially ordered and confirmed. I had chicken noodle soup which tasted like something straight out of a can. The sausage from my best friends B-day slam was cold. For the record there is nothing remotely healthy on the menu. It took me 6 minutes to examine the menu trying to find something healthy and come out with steamed veggies and a bowl of thin broth soup. It’s very rare that I leave a $ 0 but this place deserved it.

Yay! Denny’s is one of the few places that still offer a free meal for your birthday. Plus this location is 24 hours! Sure the food may not be the best, but the staff work hard and even if you come by yourself to claim your free birthday meal, they still serve you with a smile. At after a night clubbing at 2 or 3 or even 4 am this location is still open to serve you and your friends. So this 3 stars is for the service and convenience. And for being one of the last few places that offered a free meal on your bday.

Tonight, a me and a few buddies went out to go watch a movie in Downtown Vancouver. After the movie, we couldn’t help but notice our stomachs growling. We were starving. We decided we’d walk around down town and look for a place to eat. However, everywhere we looked there were massive line ups just to get in the restaurant. This is when we say the familiar logo of Denny’s at 1098 Davie St., Vancouver. So we decided, let’s relive some memories and eat at Denny’s. The fun began when we walked in to find it nearly empty, and no one coming to seat us. We waited around for a few minutes until a server came and sat us down… at a dirty table. Well, she told us to go ‘grab that booth by the window’, and when we took a seat we noticed crumbs and sticky syrup on the table. No worries though, she came and wiped it off with a rag. She then left… no clue where to, didn’t see her again all night. We then sat there waiting for salvation from our starving stomachs… but no one came. Finally, after waving are arms in the air, an older lady came with our menus. She put em down infront of us and then went to go grab water. She comes back 5 minutes later trying to hold 4 cups(very tiny cups by the way, lasted us 2 sips… and we didn’t get any refills the entire time even though they were empty) and throws them down on the table. She didn’t even ask if we wanted water… I mean, she did, but after 2 people said no to other drinks, she just said ‘4 waters coming up’ and managed to not hear my friend asking for a milkshake. No harm done there, saved him a few hundred calories and potential diabetes. After a quick peek at the menu, we knew what we were gonna order. As a vegetarian, Denny’s isn’t that great an option for dinner. Thankfully, in their Build Your Own Burger(from their choice of maybe 5 toppings), they have the Veggie Patty option. So we all ordered our burgers and waited. And waited. And waited. It wasn’t busy at all, there were literally 2 other customers in the restaurant, one of which who was simply having toast. 15 minutes later, we finally got our burgers. Here’s the gross part. The entire night, I noticed something about our waitress. Maybe she was sick, maybe it was allergies, but she just kept sniffling. But when she brought out our burgers, the worst part came to be. She coughed. She coughed directly on our burgers. It sickens me to think about it. She was trying to aim it the other way(I think), but on our burgers and in our mouths it went. this was the biggest let down of the night. When I asked if the fries were re-fillable, I was responded with a rude«Nope!» almost exiling me to White Spot. But that’s ok, I was happy with the… half potato worth of fries I received. The food was actually pretty good, the veggie burger that I had made was a mess though. I ended up eating it with a fork and knife, because it just wouldn’t stick together. Fries and burger salad anyone? The burger and fries were salty. Really salty. After eating so much salt, I was very, very thirsty. I kept trying to call a server. but I couldn’t see any? Eventually, I got up to go find a server. I found our waitress sitting at a booth on the other back corner of the restaurant. By this time, my table was done with our food, and I too had finished my burger and had a fry or two left. I decided to just ask for the bill. I went back to our table and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, I realized she had muttered to ‘come to the till’. The entire time we were paying she looked sour. Well, she got what she deserved in terms of tips, a solid $ 0.00. She practically yelled at me for doing my math in my head as to how much my meal would cost, «$ 9.59? That’s not even close to what you’re gonna be paying…» $ 10.07 later, we left the restaurant. Overall, a pretty crappy experience, really disappointed with the service.

Where do you get big greasy breakfasts while boozed up and throw in a human side show, Denny’s on Davie that’s where. Think of it as Processed food mixed with performance art. Nothing screams, «I am drunk and take my money» quite like a 2 pound Philly Cheese Omelet. And toast that I think were former space shuttle heat tiles and not the mentioned sour dough. Then the floor show begins, Open scene: Drunk loud Senior man walks in screaming, «I want my fucking coffee!!!» while his«Escort» keeps screaming in a wonderful drunk toothless patois«Just Eat the Fucking Roast Beef Dinner I Promised You!!» over and over again like some meth head parrot. See where I am going here? Dinner and a show for 16 bucks and free if it your Birthday!
