I had a great experience at Denny’s :) Staff was very friendly and food was on point. Can’t expect the world from a family styled restaurant/diner but my husband and I enjoyed our breakfast during dinner time very much! We both haven’t been to a Denny’s in years, but we left feeling happy and more than satisfied! We will be going back for more :)

Our expectation level was meh? But we couldn’t find a place this morning close to where we were gong to we swung into Denny’s and both ordered the 55+ egg scrambler with dark roast coffee. Service was absolutely wonderful ! Our sever was polite, patient and just a joy for first thing in the morning breakfast !! Our meals arrived and yet large as you would expect from Denny’s it was fantastic !

I had a terrible time here on my birthday! I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much of the free grand slam anyways. But the food was indeed terrible. The Denny’s in Richmond serves much better food. The service there is also much better. Our server basically gave us a death glare when we asked for just water and slammed a stack of menus on the counter table after taking our order. It was strange. And she was so much nicer to the white people at the table next to ours. I don’t know, I just felt like the waitress was either racist or ageist. And it’s high time they changed their cutlery or get stronger sanitizing machines.

The review is not for food but service. The manager there kindly let me use their Free Wifi even though I wasn’t a customer, i needed the Wifi since I was just visiting a friend from WA which was crucial in contacting my friend. He even welcomed me to Vancouver!

Pretty disappointed. I called to pick up nachos, they said it would be ready when I got there and it was… but it looked like someone threw up their nachos and then sold it to the next chump.(I was that chump). The Denny’s on Marine Dr makes great nachos, this place not so much. I’ve been to this location twice and all the food is made so sloppily, not generous on the toppings at all. Won’t be returning again. I forgot to post this review in 2011… so this is from then.

Bad food. Bad service. I was served raw food that should normally be cooked. I sent it back to the kitchen. Didn’t want to eat it, was still given the bill. Wtf?!?

First and last visit to this Denny’s. I know, we get what we paid for but in this case I was unfortunate to receive a mediocre food not worth the money at all. Dinner time, everybody starving to death and felt lucky when we saw a Dennys sign. Got there, restaurant almost empty, and thought«wow, we are lucky. Ok, empty restaurant usually means something different. Most of our group ordered omelettes and none, let me repeat, none were happy. We only ate because we were starving. Hash brown and toasts were cold like it was just reheated. Omelettes, a pure joke. It tasted like I was the one who cooked it, or let me be more fair… I would cook it better. Ok, I know, it was my mistake. I was the only who decided to enter. Sorry Denny’s. I promise. I will never, ever, step there again. Good luck.

Nothing fancy, just good olé comfort food. All day breakfast for a reasonable price. Whats not to love.

Don’t go at lunch unless you’re prepared to be ignored. Today I popped in for lunch at noon. Three people separately asked if I was ordering to go — each responding with a sour face when I confirm one for here. Each ice tea refill had to be flagged down and I was only able to get a drink within the first 10 minutes because I asked the person seating me for it. The waiter was too flustered with the other tables to provide event service to anyone in particular. The avocado chicken Caesar salad was good although not much presentation and could have used more avocado. The chicken they provide with it was grilled to perfection(I kept some for my puppy when I get home). I’d come back but certainly not at lunch.

I get why this Denny’s get’s low ratings, however, it’s a Denny’s, therefore, your expectations to begin with aren’t supposed to be high. It’s hang over cheap breakfast food at convenient hours. I prefer this location since it is normally more central when meeting friends and near the cool shops on W. Broadway. Service is hit and miss.

Denny’s has been around for a long time, normally I just take for granted when I drove by: Hmmm, not my cup of tea, not interested! But this morning, while I was looking for food on West Broadway, I noticed this unique bungalow type restaurant located among the cement forest. Boy, I was tempted and want to try it! There’s quite a big parking lot for customers, and it’s free! You just need to put the license plate number on the log book. All the lady waitress are very accommodating. I looked at the 55+ menu there are many choices & the price is reasonable enough(comes in pretty large portion). I like the taste too. But for the regular menu price is on the high side, in fact quite hefty for a breakfast imo. I was full when I left 20 minutes later.(prompt service that’s what I mean) All in all, a very nice dinning/breakfast experience in Vancouver uptown.

What can I say? It’s 24/7, it’s a Denny’s and it’s close to UBC. I always see some fellow students here. They validate parking. Also, I got my free birthday meal here… I guess that’s all it takes to make a customer happy.

October Review: 11⁄30 It’s a standard Canadian Denny’s. Get a Lumberjack Slam and leave filled and you’ll be good to go. (As far as Denny’s go, this one is pretty decent, they remodeled a few years ago, it’s clean, it’s fast, and everybody is always pretty nice)

just like any other experience /Dennys, pretty much what to expect. but wouldn’t recommend their milkshakes, just plain runny. but they’ve really altered their free bday meal; now it’s just the grand slam. before it was the cheapest meal was free as long as 2 were purchased. free parking as long as u register ur license plate. and the customer service was good, constantly refilling water & coffee.

Let me first start by saying that I actually love Denny’s. Really, I do. I think being a vegetarian my whole life there is a certain novelty to greasy diner food, that and it’s just delicious. That being said, avoid this Denny’s as if your life depends on it! I have been here probably five or six times now, and not once have I left feeling satisfied with either my food or my service. But this place could have the best food on the planet and still get one-star for service. I don’t like to be mean, but it’s like these people are *trying* to be awful. On more than one occasion I’ve had to get up and *remind* the waittress that we’re there, even though we’re in plain sight and obviously have nothing on our table yet. I am seriously considering getting a managerial job here just to turn this place around. Denny’s deserves better!

Well, Denny’s is Denny’s, as in my last review I just wrote(about another Denny’s). This particular review is a bit overdue, but it needs to be written and I’ve been putting it off because, of all the Denny’s in town… This is the one with the most experiences I’ve had. I’ve had not just one coffee thrown in my face here, but two. A glass of ice cold water and literaly egg on my face. All separate occasions mostly performed by the opposite sex.(All very pretty I must say). So my track record here isn’t good and it usually was preceded by an evening at a night club or bar or something. I did have a good experience here after meeting a lovely nice woman, who after she poured the ice cold water on my pants, appolagized and then signed me up for a multi-level marketing business and a ton of junk that I bought that I couldn’t afford. I was expected to be a millionaire before the end of the year, but that didn’t happen. The next meeting was my introduction to the egg on my face over breakfast after a night of romance, when I tried to sell my said ware’s(bought from the other lady who sold me all that junk) because she probably could use it for herself AND make a ton of money doing so! Egg on my face… The yolk was still hot. How many«No’s» did I count over countless meals here trying to pitch my product or plan. All failed of course. But during this course of selling makeup, soap, magical health potions, and 3d camera failures, I was being fed by Denny’s. To be honest the food isn’t that great, but it always had a place in my gut and business prospectives. It kept me fed and eager enough to go on to my next meeting or post clubing/bar scene adventure. The service has always been good over the years. The food consistently, Denny’s. A bit greasy, but filling. You couldn’t go wrong with their breakfast. But these days(as opposed to 20 years ago). it isn’t as cheap as it used to be. You’ll need more than spare change to dine here for the experience. I thought I should write this, because I know that there were others like me doing the same thing and hopefully more successfully and Denny’s was their office too. Feeding the local desire to eat and do business in whatever form, wether it be multi-level or international. Denny’s was a part of that pathway to a financial goal of independance that never prospered.

Let’s be honest, when it comes to Denny’s I walk through the doors I expect that I am going to be served to be mediocre. I have been to this location a few times and the food meets my expectation of mediocre plus as an added bonus the staff are actually quite friendly for an establishment that I am sure deals with it’s fair share of ignorant drunks! They also get extra points in my book since very few places that have all day breakfast will do take out orders. The other night I had a hankering for eggs benedict at like 11pm but really wasn’t up to sitting in a restaurant. Me and my room mate got on the horn ordered up our meals and desserts and within 25 minutes we were back at home stuffing our selves with mediocre goodness! Denny’s can in no way be described as «fine dining» but it serves a purpose for those late night breakfast cravings!

Last week I went to a late night movie with some friends I graduated high school with(over twenty years ago). While trying to decide where to go at 12:30 am, one of them suggested Denny’s. I hadn’t been to a Denny’s in years but reluctantly agreed since we used to frequent this establishment back when we were in school together. When we got there it looked like nothing had changed. The service was still very good. Everyone was friendly and fast. The problem came when I looked at the menu. As I get older, I am a little more health conscious about what I eat. If I’m going to indulge, and I do quite frequently, it had better be something that is good. I will always have fond memories of previous visits to Denny’s with my friends but I have now outgrown it. Haven’t you?

This review is not necessarily about«food» because most North Americans are familiar with the bland, mediocre fare served at this most mundane of corporate diners called Denny’s. No, I’m not going to explain how this chain uses powdered egg and cooks from frozen ingredients and depends upon fat, frying and comfort foods to lure undiscerning consumers to their cheap melamine tabletops. I will, however, remind everyone that Denny’s made its name as a greasy spoon. I could totally deal with the corporate manipulation and poor nutrition of Denny’s when they were offering a $ 3.99, all-day Grand Slam breakfast. Until very recently, Denny’s was synonymous with affordable and slightly below average diner food. However, I went into my local Denny’s last week, after a long hiatus, and was flabbergasted to find that every breakfast item — sides aside — was $ 8.99 or higher. My dining companion and I made a comment about these unjustifiably high prices, but then started to scan the menu for a suitable meal. It was at this moment, as I was contemplating the engineering marvel that is the ‘Moons Over My Hammy’ sandwich, that I came to my senses and proclaimed(at a decibel level incongruous to the situation at hand): «Screw this!» My companion, who is also my dad, looked at me in confusion and asked if I would like to dine elsewhere, to which I replied: «Oh, hells yes, father. Hells yes.» Do not eat at Denny’s. And never(ever) pay more than $ 8.00 for breakfast at a greasy spoon. You let me down, Denny… whoever you are.
