HÄLSA Spa

I have been a member at Halsa for a year now and I can honestly say I’ve never had a single bad interaction or experience there. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, especially Christian, Rebecca and Jess. So professional and lovely, and always happy to adjust things like the temperature of the float rooms. The ocean dream rooms are my absolute favourite, and I don’t think there are any other float places in Vancouver that offer them.
Floating has been incredibly helpful in so many ways for me and I love the vibe that Halsa create around the sometimes intense experience of floating. From the moment you walk in, a calm washes over you. It’s like a little oasis on 4^th avenue.
Recently, they introduced massages with Jess and I have been for numerous sessions. I can say with absolute confidence that Jess is hands-​down the best masseuse I’ve ever had. She has helped me with the trapped nerves in my hips that I’ve struggled with for years and with my horrendous shoulder knots.
Basically, Halsa is the bomb.

So I am a very picky customer. I don’t even post all the bad reviews I’d want to on here…
I always expect amazing service, efficient, friendly, clean everything when I pay, I don’t think it is unreasonable… I had wanted to do an infra red sauna for a while and called several places in Vancouver. Some don’t have a private sauna, some are booked until March (weird…), some are not in the right location etc… Anyway, I called Halsa to find out about their sauna and I got a really good vibe on the phone already so I decided to book a couple sauna with my husband. All I can say is WOW! From the moment we arrived, we were treated so well. We were shown to the sauna and explained about the rules. Very simple. The place was very clean, towels had been laid for us, all we had to do was relax. Water with lemon and a shower was available to us. It was such an amazing experience and I will book again very soon! The 2 staff that were there were incredibly helpful and friendly and made the experience extra special. I might even try a float!

We were interested in floating and stopped in at Halsa and they answered all of our questions and even gave us a tour of the place. Our first experience was great and the staff was always so helpful. I decided to give my husband floating as his Christmas present this year by pre-​booking a float session every month for the next 6 months. Christian, you are awsome! He helped me set everything up.

I tried «floating» for the first time at this float spa. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The water feels like a warm blanket and so does the air in the pod. The place is spotless and the amenities such as shampoo, conditioner etc are great. I would recommend this place especially since the $ 39 price is affordable and reasonable. Try it!

A friend gifted me a float alfter a long transatlantic flight, and it was an amazing experience! I’m not a person who likes to hang out in the bathtub — I get antsy and bored — so I was a little unsure if I’d like it. But it was so trippy — with the lights off and the water & air temps the same as your body temp, you just kind of disappear into a state of total relaxation. After the initial 15-​minute quiet music period, there is NO sound, it’s like you’re floating in outer space. I couldn’t believe an hour had gone by when the music started back up again. I felt so blissed out.
For my part, I found the owner lovely and unobtrusive, he gave me a tour of the facility and explained everything very simply. Afterwards we had a great conversation about the experience. The facility itself is lovely, light, kind of Euro-​modern. Everything was spotless. They products available — shampoo, conditioner, cream — were great. The upstairs lounge has tea, water and a collection of interesting books, the skyights made it light and airy even on a rainy day. It was a great place to relax for a few minutes and prepare to re-​enter the world. No sense of hurry anywhere in this place! I also tried the massage chair — quite interesting, I could have sworn the pressure on my feet and neck was coming from a pair of human hands (And the glow-​in-​the-​dark stars on the ceiling were fun.) They have an infrared sauna which I’m not as tempted by (not a fan of sweating), but maybe I should try it if the float experience is any indication.
As an antidote to jetlag, or any other source of undue stress, I highly recommend a float at Halsa.

The services offered I loved. Floating is always such an extreme joy to me and my partner, throwing in a sauna and massage also was great. The experience was fine but being in the presence of the owners i could feel tension or something in the air. I knew he was an owner because he introduced himself as co-​owner but he was also «shmoozing» us while the other employee was rushing around cleaning up after us and making sure everything was in great condition (the whole spa is sparkling clean and beautiful). Though I know the effort was there from him I felt that it was a bit much. Im all for talking and sharing my experiences but I felt that the owner wasn’t genuine and it felt forced for him, making me not want to fully share my experience with him at that time. My partner said he felt creeped out by his demeanor. I would hate for anyone to feel offended after all the obvious hard work that goes into it all but being truthful sometimes hurts. Though I will be back because i really like the float equipment I might be a bit more stand off-​ish next time.

I feel like a billion dollars after my very first float. Halsa has probably spoiled me for all other locations!
The space is so quiet, incredibly sparkling clean and minimally beautiful, including the lounge for mellow post-​float tea-​drinking and leafing through gorgeous books while zoning out. The folks working there are sweet and ready to answer any possible question. I felt really comfortable and taken care of, in the best non-​obtrusive manner.
In terms of the float, I picked the larger ocean option and it was incredible-​a little like 2001: A Space Odyssey inside. 60 minutes goes quite quickly, but the real effects have been in the following hours. I am SO calm yet sharp, in a great mood and can’t wait to go back.
