Simply the best European deli in Vancouver, they sell all kind of smoked meats and it’s delicious! One concern– they accept CASHONLY!!! I wish that they will take debit and credit cards.

Unfortunately and perplexingly they accept only cash in payment which is odd for an establishment of this size? Moreover they do not effectively advertise«cash only» and are embarrassingly rude to customers who innocently proffer a credit card. I for one will not be patronizing their business until they bring their fiscal practices into the 21st Century. Otherwise their products are excellent but there are alternative more courteous and modern businesses supplying such traditional deli’ meats nearby. Service trumps!

This place is amazing, their products are so delicious, customer service is really good. Love the new look of the shop, and I love how they kept everything the same way. Only butcher shop nowadays that doesn’t use any chemicals or nutritions in their products. It’s been a long sixteen months without them, but thank God they are finally back ti feed us. J N & Z deli is unique!

smoked meats, serbian and other eastern European sausages, great staff(who recognise return visitors!) too bad they close every summer for vacation. but I can’t blame them, they’re a family run business. just come back soon so I can get some of your meats

This is as good as it gets when it comes to smoked meat. Having a Serbian background myself I grew up on it, all home made — ground up, mixed and prepared in the old basement, smoked in the backyard in an old metal school locker and hung with love in the concrete«cold room». After over 30 years, the smell is in the bricks, and it’s beautiful. JN&Z brings that aroma, taste and culture back home to me and I can’t wait until they reopen. As of today(Jan 16) the voice message states to check back often as they wait for their contractors to finish work, so not open yet. Hopefully soon, need my fix.

This is a true gem on the drive! I always get the kolbasa for my guests. Everyone loves it! My son even asked to have some at his birthday party. It smells so good and is so delicious! Get the kolbasa! It will improve your quality of life!

I’ve actually been here a few times in passing and for buying, just didn’t think of putting a review until now. I like their selections and is one of my go to places when I need some decent cuts. I loved the dried pepperoni. I am not much of a spicy person, however, can handle these. Customer service is always friendly and the prices for what you get is very reasonable.

We got some of their beef tenderloin; pork neck & smoked bacon — we got over 100g of each and the total cost was just over $ 10 which was incredibly reasonable. The bacon was probably our favorite, amazing and deep flavor. The beef was great when paired with some mustard. The pork neck was just a little too«porky» in flavor and so this is probably an «us» issue, not a complaint to be directed at the store. You can taste the care & skill in their products and so if you are planning a picnic or wanting to put together a meat & cheese platter then you should stop by this place for sure.

Have been here a few times now and it never fails to satisfy a meat craving. I tried the dry smoked bacon last visit, which can be sold out, and its my least favourite thing. While the regular bacon was nicely cut, I received a big chunk of the dry smoked bacon that once I got it home I can barely cut with my kitchen knifes. Will try in use it up this weekend in a batch of split pea soup, if I can actually cut it up! Their sausages are made for taking up the mountain on a hike, they could be the perfect camping food. I have been having a daily BLT made with their regular bacon and its delicious. They aren’t many of these old time shops around so drop in when you get a chance and I’m sure you’ll be back.

Out of the 4 walls in this little shop, 3 of the walls are covered in MEAT! Think European smoked meat, think sausages and think mom and pop shop. That’s what J N & Z Deli is. I was in the shop for 15 minutes and they were so patient answering all of my questions. They were also very accomodating and let me take 4 or 6 slices of each type of meat. That’s a lot of wrapping and time spent on me for just $ 8!

Do you love meat? I don’t mean«do like meat» or «do you eat a lot of meat». I mean do you LOVE meat, in the carnal way? This stunning Eastern European smokehouse should be a tourist attraction and mandatory shopping for anyone who thinks that they LOVE meat. The tiny floor space has room for 6 people but, 15 will squeeze in. The walls are hung floor-to-ceiling and corner-to-corner with smoked and aging bacon. When the walls are full, bacon and sausage hangs suspended from the ceiling. I wish I had bacon and sausage instead of streamers at my last birthday party. Saturdays are the sabbath here with a 4-foot tall pyramid of smoked pork hocks piled in the window and 20-pound trays of fresh smoked meat loaf in the display cases. Who knew that communion was served by the pound and wrapped in butcher paper? And get here early because it’s all gone by midday. The smell is deep and warm and permeating. Thankfully, my clothes smell like the most beautiful smokehouse pork all day. Thank you for feeding us like this.

Mission to Try Vancouver’s 101 Best eats Two birds with one stone — while heading the MAKEIT! What a great trip :) Item 1: Smoked Beet Tenderloin Item 2: Serbian Garlic Sausage All cured in house, and man made — shelf life = FOREVER The lady was nice enough to tell us about the family store, and offered free samples. The best way to eat is. probably is the way it is, with crackers or cheese. I decided to cook the sausage in a pasta and I think it took out the flavour a little bit. I enjoyed the the Beef tenderloin more, as it was thinly sliced, unlike the link of sausage. Both were full of flavour, well cured. For one link of sausage and about 12 slices of beef, it came it $ 3.00! There are so many other types of meats to try… I can only imagine how delicious those will be! smoke beef tenderloin serbian garlic sausage
