I came here when visiting some friends here at UBC. I got a protein bananaberry smoothy. The protein they used was very very chalky. I asked if they used a plant or whey protein based, however, they were unable to confirm. I suspect whey just from my own personal experience in making smoothies at home. They may have not added enough liquid to allow to properly blend before adding the fruit. I don’t expect much in terms of common sense from this location, however, it was a better lunch room option than the fast food that was around. I will make a note to self to bring a lunch next time.

Pretty good protein smoothies compare to booster juice, definitely coming back to try other flavour. Staff are friendly and know their fruit in their smoothies. Thumbs up

*9/30* IMO, Jugo Juice does not in general make the best smoothies. They use too much juice and not enough frozen stuff so it ends up being more like a watery slushy. Gross. Plus, they all kind of taste the same, and I *really* dislike the taste of the protein powder they use. It has a weird, overpowering, vanilla flavour, and the one time I tried it, it made my smoothie undrinkably over-sweet. The stuff worth getting at Jugo is — big surprise — the juice on its own. Staff here were friendly, and location is killer — right next to the bus stop in the South Village that heads up to campus. Because of that I’ll probably be back; that is, more so because of convenience rather than anything extraordinary to take advantage of.
