AVOID! The bread they use is awful and the ingredients didn’t taste very good. Bland and soggy. It’s packed during lunch hour and makes me wonder why. I guess there are no other options for sandwich. Your money is better spent else where. The tomato slice in the sandwich seemed like it was frozen and then thawed, gross. Saving grace was the salad I bought which was just lettuce and some veggies.

I tried the Red Thai Curry Soup with Rice and the Chicken and Avocado Mayo wrap. Its pretty good for food court standards. You can have your wraps and sandwiches toasted. Just ask for it. The coffees and smoothies are pretty decent too.

Poor customer service. They advertise prices on their menu board but tried to charge me more at the register. I like the idea of a healthier option in a mall food court, but going forward I am definitely going to give my business to the salad bar next door instead of La Prep.

For food court, it’s probably the healthiest here at Pacific Centre. But compared to a real sandwich place like Hubbub, it’s just average. If you insist on coming here, arrive 15 min. before the lunch rush hits, long lineups. Fast service, I’ll give them that as they are fully staffed, 6 strong sometimes plus the owner.

As per food court and downtown area standards, it’s a rip off. I bought the chicken, brie and spinach sandwich combo with butternut squash soup and raspberry iced tea to drink. The sandwich was premade but it wasn’t too old judging by the spinach leaves. The chicken was obviously from frozen and the brie was sparse. I hated the soup. It was this watery, cinnamon-y mess that I tried to drink. I have encountered pumpkin spice latte’s(even moreso) hideous sister. The raspberry iced tea tasted fine. I especially like how they just add raspberry syrup to premade iced tea and half of my small cup is ice. Aside from its over priced entrée items, La Prep definitely promises the retail definition of «fresh» just like the rest of the fast food options in PC. It’s not your farmer’s/organic deli or a healthy IGA bistro — like what it aspires to be. We pay for its rent and plastic containers(they use a lot). It has good coffee and muffin options but I’d rather go somewhere else like Take Five or run to Timmy’s. I will definitely remake that sandwich at home though.

Tried the turkey Brie apple wrap, it was quick fresh and tasty. I really liked the green tea it cam with, but the pita chips I got were all burnt. Overall it’s a decent place to eat when your in the food court trying to eat something not greasy fried etc.

I needed a quick lunch and my usual options weren’t appealing to me today, so when a coworker gestured towards La Prep and said they had decent soups I agreed to try it out and we got in line. I wasn’t really into either of their soup options, so I decided to go for the Grilled Veggie Panini and a Raspberry Yogurt muffin. Both looked really really good! The muffin is the only reason this review got a second star. The panini was stale, the incredibly dry and chewy eggplant had clearly been sitting out all day and possibly longer. It was actually difficult to bite through. I don’t like peppers so I picked them off before even biting into it. Basically I was eating cheese and spinach on stale bread. I didn’t even bother finishing it. The Raspberry Yogurt muffin was delicious! Although it was definitely not a healthy tasting muffin. It was pure sugar. I know its just a food court option, but for a place that seems to want to give off the image of fresh and healthy they sure aren’t delivering that. I was also surprised to see a total lack of veggie options. There was only 1 veggie sandwich, and considering the amount of sandwiches there were with meat, there would definitely be room for a few more meatless options. I won’t be coming back. Unless I want a muffin.

I had to run some errands on my lunchbreak, so I thought I would just grab a quick lunch in the mall food court. Not very many food court restaurants appeal to me, and I am not a big fan of greasy slop, this leaves me with few choices. I saw La Prep, and decided this was probably my best bet. I decided to get the grilled veggie panini, which you could get with a soup or salad on the side. I opted for the butternut squash soup, but when I sat down to eat my lunch I had a bowl of this watery broth with a few vegetables mixed in. Not really my cup of tea… er soup… I’m pretty sure it was not the butternut squash soup, but a mixup and I was given some sort of vegetable soup, and being a vegetarian, I didn’t really want to risk eating it to discover a piece of meat or realize it was made from chicken stock. The panini was okay, it tasted a little dry, I’m not sure if that was because of the bread they used or because they left it on the grill too long. In any case, I have definitely had better paninis in a food court. The whole experience was a bit disappointing, and because I had errands to run and I didn’t have time to take the soup back and get what I had originally ordered. I ended up throwing out the soup and just eating the panini. I doubt I would bother with this place again.
