We were traveling from US and found this place on Unilocal. We took skytrain from airport to Waterfront stop — about 3 blocks away. Very small place — counter top and few tables in back. We ordered the special and had about 5 tacos each. It was so delicious — packed with flavor. The manager was from Madrid and helped us plan our next 7 hours in Vancouver. This is a definite stop!!!

Dos looked amazing, but we ended up not being able to eat there since all of the chicken options(and I think others as well) are pre-marinated in sauces we couldn’t have. Not their fault at all, but good to know this for people with various food allergies.

What the hell do I know? I didn’t grow up in Texas or Southern California or in New Mexico so I don’t know how awesome real tacos are. I’ve only been to Mexico 6 times, not 8 so real tacos are beyond my scope of expertise. No hablo espanol so forget it I don’t know to order a real taco. I’m not one quarter Mexican so I have NOIDEA what a real taco is supposed to taste like. According to the experts out there these tacos aren’t so great. Good thing I’m not an expert ‘cuz I love ‘em. Ignorance is bliss. Shut up and eat.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican tacos this is the place to go! The menu has a lot of options so you can order vegan, meat or fish tacos. The staff was really nice and the service was great!

Had a carne asada and Al pastor taco. Was ok. Fairly authentic but I lived in San Diego for twenty years, so my standards for Mexican food are pretty high. Small place and crowded too.

La Taqueira is a really good quality Mexican restaurant. My favourites are the Al Pastor and the Pescado, and I usually try one or more of the daily features.” I try to stop by at least once a month. Food is always consistent and fresh.

Didn’t like the taste. It was like shredded beef, not steak tacos. Pretty pricy for a small taco. $ 3 each.

Great place to grab a quick bite for lunch. Looks like the menu changes a bit, when I was there they had 3 vegan options — kale and mushroom(which was excellent), mixed veggies with corn(pretty good), and refried beans(my least favorite). At 2.50 $ a taco you can mix and match and they also have combos of 4 for 9 $. I would definitely come back for the kale and mushroom combo, plan on trying this at home. The salsas at the bar were really spicy but I guess that’s why they had horchata, so no complaints!!!

Small hole-in-the-wall place with a fun vibe and really pleasant staff. Stopped in for a quick lunch and loved the asada tacos. Delicious, simple tacos with a good selection of sauces available for self-service. This might not be the place for you if you’re looking for a leisurely sit-down lunch, but it was perfect for myself and my co-workers looking for good food, fast.

I love tacos so I got four. Two Asada, one mushroom and one beef tongue. I have no idea what the going rate is for tacos, I paid $ 10. Initially due to my hunger, $ 10 seemed okay but after it was finished I had the worst case of eaters remorse. Don’t get me wrong? The tacos were tasty enough, but my stomach was asking, where did the $ 10 go. It just wasn’t enough! Give a girl a side of black beans, tortillas, a shot of tequila… something! The tacos were tasty. I didn’t care for the mushroom only because I didn’t like the texture. I couldn’t tell the beef tongue from the asada. Anyway, go if you want or don’t go. In my opinion, you’re not missing anything except $ 10.

Amazing! Best lunch spot around. I’ve been coming here for the past 4.5 years and nothing has changed. Quick and friendly service and delicious tacos! Go on Tuesdays for the free horchata or Wednesdays for the buy 4 get 2 free deals. MUSTHAVES: — De Cachete — Carnitas — Res en Salsa Verde(special) — Res en Cascabel(special) — Chicharron(special) I had a quesadilla once with De Cachete filling and it was incredible! Go early to avoid a big lineup!(Before 12)

Great little tacos! Although the slightly revamped menu is nice, the price also went up by quite a bit for a lot of the exact same things. The seared tuna with wasabe is a tasty new addition, although I wish they would’ve also kept their old fish taco for those who don’t enjoy or would like a fish alternative that isn’t always raw. The combo of the 4 small tacos is I feel a great size for lunch, fills you up without feeling too stuffed to go back to work or continue running around on a busy day. That being said I’m sure if I feel its a perfect size, a guy might find it not filling enough. I also must warn people against getting take out though! Usually this place is slammed around lunch so my partner and I got takeout since we only live a 5 min walk away. By the time we got home all of our tacos were soggy and gross. Even though we lifted the lids off of the sealed containers to let out the steam, leaving them for just 5 mins was too much, must have been the sauces that came with the tacos soaking through the tortillas. that or the seared albacore was way too wet and soaked the rest of the tacos. Made them pretty gross and would’ve made them inedible if we weren’t starving and in a rush to eat.

I love this place, it’s cheap, fast and delicious, a winning combination for me! Their combo is 4(albeit small) tacos for $ 9.5(2 meat + 2 veggies). I ate 2 of them and was actually quite full. My taco selection was their pork cheek, their special of the day chicken, corn and bean. The pork cheek was definitely a stand-out, it was braised properly, making it tender and yummy. For the meat lovers, don’t worry, their corn and bean were delicious. Their tortilla is also one of the best I ate in Vancouver. I would say that this place is one of my favourite hole-in-the-wall places in Vancouver.

La Taqueria has been my #1 spot for tacos in Vancouver, but last Friday I just found out that my favourite item on the menu, De Picadillo vegan taco, is gone! :(I’m devastated. I tried their new mushroom trio taco, but wasn’t a fan(couldn’t even finish it). They have a new zucchini taco that didn’t seem that good either… so I guess now it’s only frijoles left for me. Love(d) the place, but not a happy customer right now.

I can’t not get more than 2 tacos at a time whenever I go here. It’s so cheap, but hella tasty. The special(s) of the day is usually really good, but can sell out quickly if you don’t come early enough in the day. If it’s a warm day, I’ll usually have a horchata to accompany my meal. I’ll also use and abuse the pickled onions because it adds that perfect sourness to them. My go-to’s are the carnitas and asada meat tacos. Also, line-ups happen frequently, so just embrace it and remember how good of a taco you’ll be getting.

La Taqueria is a go to place when I’m around. The consistent crowds tell me it’s not just me who goes here. When you walk in, you will be hit by two things. 1: my goodness that smells good. 2: I hope I get a seat. The tacos never disappoint. Never. The staff are always so friendly, and I have yet to meet a worker who doesn’t have a thick Spanish accent. Adds to the culture I feel. People don’t really stick around and chat after eating, so places usually open up to sit down and eat. Don’t forget to add sauce and peppers! Not a place to plan an extended sit down meal, it’s a fairly quick in-eat-out. Oh, and the juicier tacos will get all over your hands, so don’t forget to wash them before you leave, or you’ll be taco fingers for the rest of the evening!

If you’re having taco craving(s), this is the place to be. This is one of the authentic ones in Vancouver. Serving size is pretty small, however bona fide tacos are typically really little. Came here on a tuesday morning and there was barely 3 diners, and that’s a good thing cause I hear people here line up just to get a taste of these yummy tacos. So I’d say that’s a good sign when you see people lining up not because it’s opening day, but because food is good. Highlight on the carnitas that came in with pickled onions was really tasty, the best for me which was the fish taco, and the carne asada. The service is great and funny as well, they tried to open up a conversation which was nice. I’d come back specially for Taco Wednesdays!

Been here a couple times. And everyday during lunch time especially on Wednesday and Thursday they have a huge long line up. If you go on their twitter site the have word of the day and you can get a 3 free taco on wednesday with a purchase of 3 tacos. Also if you check in in front of them you get a free drink. The taco are freshly made on the spot. Décor is OK. But can be very hard to find a seat because the place is pretty small. I prefer doing takeout.

Hmm… I’ve been to the other location which was great… but for a street food, this place and it’s little hole in the wall look about it just seems to fit better. Hard to get a seat at times… but the food is just as great! Today I didn’t try anything new… just went for some of my fav standards… Al pastor, and chicken tinga(two of each). I used the chipotle salsa, and washed it all down with a Jarritos pineapple(I figured it’d go nice with the al pastor… and it DID!) So… like the other location… high marks… Would I go back??? Hells yeah!

Alan greets you and asks your name as you walk in the door. Staff is super friendly, All meat used is organic. Tacos– A SELECTIONOF4 will set you back $ 10. Full of students from the film school and VCC. It’s really a hole in the wall with some seating. Lots of old tile capture the essence of a day gone by. Lots of help yourself condiments, with salsas and pickled red onions make it an adventure to try.
