Linacare Laboratories

Linacare Laboratories is the brainchild of CEO and co-​founder Carol Lee. Together with Dr. Henry Fung, a medical doctor and Harvard-​trained research scientist and pharmacologist, they set about revolutionizing the face of skincare. LINACARE was originally developed to treat chronically the severely dry and itchy skin of Dr. Fung’s patients. His creams proved to be so effective that word quickly spread to friends, family and other doctors. It is often used to help relieve various irritations that developed as a result of eczema, chemotherapy/​radiation, et al. Since its inception, LINACARE has expanded into hand, foot and body creams.
Unfortunately, there is no obvious storefront on Pender Street (plans for one have been postponed indefinitely). The head office is secreted away upstairs, in the garret of a law office who happens to be owned by Lee’s uncle. In addition to a strong desire to help revitalize the area, Lee’s deep family ties to the history of Chinatown were part of what motivated her to base the company there.
