The waiters were actually really rude. We waited more than 1 hr for our order. Then they figured out that they lost our order list. Their pork blood had many bubbles on it, which was really wired. Overall, our dinner there was really unhappy.

Consistent with other reviews, do not expect good service here. My pot of water and soup was not topped up once the entire 3 hours I was there. They basically leave you ‘as is’ and if you want them, you need to flag them down. Food and soup was pretty tasty. A good variety. Tasted fresh. Convenient location by public transit. Nice and big space. Clean toilets. Unlimited self-serve sauces like satay sauce, hot sauce, vinegar, soya sauce. Only thing stopping me from returning is the amount of MSG in their soup. I am not delusional. I understand most Chinese restaurants will have some MSG in their food but here’s how I know the amount was excessive. I had insomnia that night. Nocturnal like an owl. Eyes wide open. Toss and turn and I was completely wired. I’m sure I’ve taken lots of MSG in my past since I love Chinese food but I think this is excessive! This NEVER happens to me! Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think I’d dare return again. I don’t need another sleepless night. Probably try hotpot somewhere else. Lots of options to choose from!

Interesting broths — only two choices: original or spicy. Lots of meat and veggie options. Beware you can only order twice. Service can improve here. Asked for our drinks twice before getting our drinks way into the meal. Also, was really difficult to just get the servers attention to ask for our bill. Wasn’t too impressed.

I went here with some friends earlier this week. The décor and ambience were nice, but it was downhill from there. Some of the group ordered the all-you-can-eat hotpot and some ordered individual hotpots, soups, etc. It took 15 – 20 minutes for the first of the hotpot ingredients to arrive. Why? They’re raw! Load ‘em on a tray and go. Maybe 10 minutes if they were packed, but the restaurant was about half-full. The people who got the shared hotpot seemed satisfied with the food, and it looked very fresh. However those who got individuals were very displeased. «Gross» and«tasteless» were mentioned a few times. To cap it off, the all-you-can-eat is listed for $ 21.xx; BUT there’s also an listed cost for the pot itself of $ 10(split between everyone). It’s not a big deal if there are a lot of people sharing. It seems quite dishonest though. We asked for the bill… twice, and then about 10 minutes later some staffer came by and said we needed to leave because the restaurant was closing. We had to ask for the bill another 2 times. We will not be going back.

Great starting broth with lots of garlic, ginkgo, dried longan, dates and something else. I find the broth different from other Chinese hotpot restaurants, and like it. All you can eat, meat fondue. Just be aware, you can order your items only twice. Then it’s done. But who should really eat that much anyways? Gluttony!

I was so upset last time I wrote my review and I only gave 1 star when it should be around 2 to 3 stars. Like I said, quality of the food was very good. Just because I thought it tasted like puke, that doesn’t mean the other people feels the same. I mean, it was packed so it must taste good for many people. So that’s why I’m fixing the review and the rating.

A little hard to give a rating because this was my first restaurant hot pot experience, but I had no complaints. We had a table of 10, and they provided 2 burners, both of which were half and half original and spicy. We ordered a ton for our first round, and the platters of meats and veggies were brought out very promptly. We over ordered a bit because we didn’t realise how generous the servings would be(we were thinking of AYCE sushi places that often give tiny portions, and short change you on the order). There is a ton of selection– meats, veg, seafood, dumplings, and, ahem, balls. Highlights were the garlic beef(next time I would only order the garlic, none of the other beef cuts), the cuttlefish, shrimp and cod paste balls, and the watercress. Everything was good quality. The broths were good, especially at the end when they were enriched by all the other ingredients cooked in there. Skim out at least some of the floating chiles from the spicy, otherwise it’s really hard to fish out your ingredients. We didn’t order anything for a 2nd round except for noodles to soak up the rich broth. All in all, I felt like they provided good quality & service for the price.

the food tastes are a bit disappointing. I will avoid visit here too many times… The soup is really disappointing. In China, it never like this. And the beef slices are… I also ordered soy milk which is nothing but look like soy milk. The tea is above my expectations as I have no expectation on free teas in any Chinese restaurant. Anyway, I don’t suggest you come here.

Looks like this place has taken over what used to be Posh. Parking is available along Burrard after rush hour, as well as the side streets. The inside looks classy, with nice padded seats and stone tables. The interesting thing is that the exhaust hoods are simply vents in the ceiling. Fortunately this did not result in the entire restaurant steaming up. Staff were quick and friendly. Not sure why there are complaints about this in the previous reviews. No issues at all for the group, other than that they were a bit short staffed. The food quality was decent. Everything seemed reasonably fresh. Skewers and deep fried bun slices can also be had for a few extra bucks. The sauce station is a bit on the plain side. Only 5 ingredients(soy sauce, chili oil, chili sauce, peanut sauce, satay sauce), with no toppings such as green onions or cilantro. A minor note for an otherwise solid 4 star review. Everyone in our group destroyed ourselves. Beautiful.

I would give this place a 0 rating if I could. I came here today for dinner, they often not serve what I asked for even if I ask in person or write on the paper many times. And it’s suppose to be all you can eat!(yet they give you so little…). The worst part during the dinner was half way through my meal I had a cooked spider or some sort of bug on my plate. I freaked out and totally lost my appetite… The manager offered discount and replace the soup but I don’t want w discount and I would never come back and eat there again so afterwards he said we didn’t have to pay. I’ve been to little sheep Mongolian hotpot in Richmond and Burnaby but first and last time here.

This is a review for service not food. My brother had his birthday here and I made the mistake of coming with my 13 month old, we were with a group of about 30 and packed the back room. After about 15 – 20 minutes I realized how silly I was to bring a baby into the crowded atmosphere and said my goodbyes and told my sever that I had an ice tea but didn’t eat and what would they like to charge me. I was charged 30 $, I guess the all you can eat, plus drink, plus pot fee, seriously. After speaking to the manager about the fact that I had a drink and they were going to make over 1000 $ on my brothers party and were they really going to insist that I pay in full for sitting at the table for 15 minutes he offer me coupons for 5 $ off a lunch visit and asked me to pay my tab. I drove from Langley and was too tiered to argue and paid and left. I gave the coupons away, maybe the food was good but I’ll never know as I’ll never go back.

Delicious all you can eat hot pot. For $ 20 per person you have access to a large list of AYCE. You can pay $ 10 extra for broth base options and there are awesome some individuals add on items for purchase. Overall this was a great hot pot experience and I would definitely come back again. The only downside to other hot pot places I’ve been is that the sauce bar is lacking in options.

Food was delicious! Service was remarkably good, considering how busy and understaffed they were. I’m definitely coming back!

I might be a little biased because i’ve never been to hot pot before, but I LOVED it! the quality of the food was really really good, and the mild broth was delicious. our order was screwed up the first time, but since it’s all you can eat we just re-ordered what we didnt get. Will definitely be back again!

When we were seated i asked the waitress if my 3-year old son is free since nothing mentioned on the menu, the answer was yes from the waitress. But when i got my bill i see there is a charge for the kid for $ 14.99 and i asked why. Another waiter said the store manager just said only kids under 3 are free. I didn’t even bother argue and paid for it anyway. The final price was over 100 for 3 adults and 1 kid. Also their food has lots of msg, i had to drink a lot of water after eat. Do not go to the place, especially with your kids.

First of all beware of buying the groupon for this restaurant as It does not nearly cover half of your final bill! You see, they charge you $ 20(plus tax) per person for the eat all you can meal. But and the big buy… you need to pay for the soup… yes the soup! on which your food has to go into! Wait a minute… in an eat all you can japanese restaurant… do i need to pay for the sushi wrapper? or the soy sauce? No! The choice of sauces is lacking and I mean you basically have the soy sauce, peanut sauce, satay, chili oil(I do not even consider this as a sauce!). Because of limited sauces, the quality of your food is not tasty at all! Service is slow and the servers DONOTSPEAKENGLISH!!! ONLYCHINESE!!! What is going on here? All in all… you are better of spending your money in another hot pot restaurant.

A friend and I went for lunch and we are not the easiest to please. I am a vegan and she is a meat-eating celiac. They gave us a split pot, and neither of us chose to use the broth. Instead, they brought water, so we wouldn’t worry about MSG. With all the side condiments like peanut sauce, shoyu, hot oil, vinegar and red peppers, it is easy to make your own MSG-free broth. We had the ‘all you can eat’ and had our tableside tray loaded up with tofu, greens, several kinds of mushrooms and many other veggies, along with my friend’s meat selection. It is fun to cook your own meal, and we were both satisfied, her meat pot bubbling away while I blanched my spinach and boiled the sweet potatoes and mushrooms. Nice atmosphere, helpful staff. Clearly a winner!

I bought a Little Sheep Mongolian Grill Hot Pot Groupon which might explain the service. The food overall was really good. We got the mix of spicy and original broths. The only problem is that we were asked what menu we wanted, with us never being there or experiencing this type of Hot Pot before we didn’t know which one to choose(or that there was even an option for different menu types). We just said we wanted whatever the groupon was. After a little bit of confusion(on our part, we weren’t sure what was going on). So she gave us the All You Can Eat menu. The waitress was really nice and sweet, but she didn’t explain anything to us. We had to sneak going to the bathroom and getting sauces to see how other people were eating/cooking their meals which was difficult as we were having a super late lunch and there was only 2 other tables. Another issue was that the groupon only covered $ 20 value, which we were under the understanding was the cost of our meal as we said we just wanted what the groupon offered. After we ate, I was given a bill to see that it cost me $ 40 in addition to the groupon I already paid to groupon, as the All-You-Can eat menus has you paying for the broths, as well as an additional cost of $ 19.99 per person. I just wish this was explained to us BEFORE we got it as we would not have ordered it. It was a super fun experience. It was a great date night, with a lot of memories. So overall I would go again, but will never use a groupon for this place again.

Hot pot restaurants are absolutely now my favorite all-you-can-eat places to go to. I love soups and it’s a plus that I can prepare it myself according to my tastes. Apparently there are a few other Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pots around the city. This new one on West Broadway opened up in February. When we arrived in the evening it was busy but we didn’t have to wait for a table since a couple were available. It became much busier afterward. Our hot pot ingredients were brought out right away. I can’t remember all the names of the items we chose to put into our hot pot, but everything was fresh– the meats, seafoods, vegetables and dumplings. The last time I went to a hot pot restaurant, I threw in everything at once. This time I only put in a little bit of food at a time and ate whatever combination of ingredients I desired. The customer service was great. The servers were quick, attentive and professional at all times despite having a packed restaurant. Little Sheep is definitely a five star restaurant and I highly recommend it!

yay, I am the first to review this store since they moved to the current location. Different than the Little Sheep chain stores in California, this place is «all you can eat» for a flat $ 20(~$ 25 – 27 after pot fee $ 10, tax, tip). They do charge you a $ 10 pot base fee doesn’t matter how many people share the table. Meat dishes can only be order 2 serving sizes each round, no matter the number of people at the table though. They do take credit cards and can split the bill for you, that’s a nice touch for a Chinese restaurant. — Décor: since it’s new, easy to see they have up-to-date simple interior design, comfy booth seats all the way around the wall able to accommodate parties of 4 – 6. — Service: Not too bad for a Chinese restaurant, they were fast and served well, though a bit curt when you ask them what each dish they bring is, since they do ask you to order the rounds using a self-check list. One of the girls said she wasn’t sure which dish is which meat(beef, fatty beef, pork, etc), but my group didn’t mind too much. It did become a tiny bit difficult when we order the second round and trying to decide which entries to order again. — You do have to go to a sauce station and mix your own sauce, I was surprised to see so little choices, no green scallions either. If I recall correctly, the LSM in CA doesn’t actually offer you sauce unless you buy them on the side, reason is their soup base is either herbal, medicinal, or so well done that the taste is in there already, so they actually discourage you to mess it up with the DIY sauce. — food quality: given their volume on a Sat. evening, definitely fresh ingredients, and I like the variety as well.(You can eat more types than with the CA per order based system). However, they don’t have the more«expensive» traditional ingredients such as shrimp and the highest cuts of meat, and the soup base is very bland, the hot side just of lots of garlic/red pepper thus not as complex in flavour. — fish/meat balls there were famous in the CA stores are shrunk by the«ray gun» so they are truly TINY, make sure to order multiples if you want them. Tofu items are not as delicate but in larger chunks, and dumplings are NOT the same as the«handmade» ones famed in CA either. After the bill, they actually bring you a $ 5 off coupon for coming back again next time within 2 – 3 weeks per person. This is a good marketing strategy. =) LOL. Overall, pros and cons, I’d come back again with a medium sized group for another meal, but it’s definitely not the same as the famed chain stores in CA. On the other hand, over there you’d pay $ 30−40+ for having to order so many things. So yes, I might be convinced to come back again if I can find friends who are willing.
