I ordered a sesame chicken dish for delivery. What arrived was sort of this mucky black liquid with globs of a plasma like substance. I’m not sure whether it was in fact chicken or something else but either way, it was inedible. The«food» was so aweful that I created a Unilocal account and made this post to tell people, «STAYAWAYFROMHEREFORYOURSAFETY».

The food was disgusting. Do not order from here! We ordered the house special crispy chow mein, wonton soup, sweet and sour pork and deep fried spare ribs with rock salt and chili. Delivery was fast, but the food all had a terrible aftertaste and the ribs tasted like cigarette ashes had fallen in. I called to complain and they were rude and unhelpful.

If i could give less than 1 i would. Ordered for the first time tonight and was some what happy with the food… except we ordered shrimp with asparagus and received 100% bottums and middle pieces. When I called them to ask why there was not one single top they called me a liar. Well best of luck to you but you will never see a dime from me or anyone i know!

I wish there was a minus one. We ordered the Shrimp Asparagus dish and it came with the stalks and no heads… When my brother called to complain the manager called him a lier. After this service or lack there off. I can say that we will NEVER use them again. Note to self I should have checked they Unilocal ratings first. They speak for them selves

Ordered delivery from here a few days ago and would not repeat! The restaurant came as a recommendation from a friend and I was told it was going to be delicious. Maybe they had two places messed up because the food sucked. Every single piece of chicken had very hard tendons. I literally had to spit out cartilage every bite. Gross. Foul. Garbage. Would not recommend to eat here.

We were in the area already and decided to eat lunch to make the visit a bit more worthwhile. We ended up randomly at this place because of the advertised lunch specials. Definitely a small family run business! We were greeted by two young children and the girl served water promptly. We ordered curry chicken and ginger onion beef at $ 6.99 each. Each special came with one spring roll and a side of rice. Food arrived quickly as we were the only customers at 3pm. Food was average. The beef dish was a tad on the saltier side and loaded with plenty of onions. Chicken curry was the better tasting dish and there was a blend of vegetables mixed in. Spring rolls were okay. It was vegetarian with a mix of bean sprouts and carrots. Rice was well made. They cannot mess up on the rice when they are a Chinese restaurant! Service was lacking as I cannot expect much when children are helping the family business. I flagged the girls attention for the bill when we were done eating. The restaurant décor is very dated. There were 4 tables for customers to dine in. This restaurant is not fancy but serves its purpose of cheap Chinese food.

I ordered for the first time last night and the food was terrible… I’m not particularly picky with my food, but the food there was disgusting enough that I couldn’t even finish my meal. I ordered the chicken and corn soup. The bottom of my soup was totally congealed. Depsite that, I still tried to finish the soup. However, I then found a piece of dirty plastic in my food.(It appeared to be a torn off piece from those plastic grass used in sushi boxes.) DONOTGO!

Employs intrusive advertising. Despite being told specifically that they cannot do this, they continue to do so. Rude and uncaring. The negative reputation is deserved.

If I could rate this place minus stars, I would. The food is horrible and when I called to complain, they hung up on me ! The water chestnuts had a fermented smell/taste and the chicken was so dry that we couldn’t pull it apart Save your money and do not eat here

Ordered 3 dishes this evening. The order arrived and had I read the recent reviews(especially about the rude delivery driver who literally drops the food and runs away) I would have hesitated to order. Ordered szechuan green beans, chow mien with mixed veggies and chicken and cashews. Pretty simple right? The order arrived and we had two dishes of mixed veggies and cashews — no chicken and no chow mien. At least the szechuan were correct. Called the restaurant and told they would send the chow mien in 30 minutes. 30 minutes came and went and nothing… Definitely will NOT order from here again, It is too bad, they used to be good a few years ago. I can’t help but think if the serve and the order-taking are this bad, what are they putting in the food we DON’T know about? Ya definitely would pass along this place for sure.

I’ve ordered here twice. the first time, it wasn’t particularly good or bad. The second time was awful. The lemon chicken was overly battered and undercooked so each bite was filled with gooey dough. The beef with vegetables had chunks of grizzle and fat in the beef slices and some of the sauce had starch that wasn’t dissolved: it was in chunks. The chicken fried rice tasted and smelled like cigarettes as if someone was smoking near it while they cooked. And the vegetable chow mein had no vegetables in it. To top it all off, I was over charged and didn’t notice until I got home!

I am actually really surprised by all the negative reviews because I have ordered from Timkee about 4 or 5 times and have never had a bad experience. I keep coming back. I typically get the BBQ pork, beef with broccoli, mixed veg. All excellent, all flavorful. So much so that I am also surprised that they do not use MSG. The only reasons for not giving 5 stars is that their pork is slightly on the dry side and they only give wonton soup as their freebie for orders over $ 25. What if I wanted a spring roll? Anyway, give it a shot. Maybe it’s under new management now since the bad reviews. I know some people who prefer Lin’s, but when I get the same dishes there, I have to add a ridiculous amount of salt to even enjoy them… I prefer Timkee for most Chinese dishes(except when it comes to Lin’s dumplings. Simply amazing).

We usually order from Next Noodle Bar, but we received a Timkee flyer in the mail and thought we’d give them a shot for takeout. We got spring rolls, sweet and sour pork, ginger beef, and sesame chicken, along with 3 fried rices. The spring rolls were soggy and clumped together. The breaded entrees were overbreaded with very little meat. Nothing that ought to have been crisp was. Everything just seemed like it had been sitting in a food court chafing dish for hours, and I was really ill one night after trying to eat some of the leftovers. Will never order from them again. Just gross. Next Noodle Bar, please forgive us for straying from you. We didn’t know how good we had it.

This was the worst food I have ever eaten in my entire life! I actually couldn’t believe it. It had absolutely no flavor what so ever. I ordered jumbo deep fried shrimp and and the shrimp inside looked like a small dried out, hard as a rock stick. I don’t even know if all of them were shrimp! The ones that looked like shrimp were dried out, hard and stringy. They were unedible. The amount of batter was ridiculous. I was stunned, I have never given a review such as this and I have never felt so strongly about the food I had received. I have had food that wasn’t good but this was beyond horrible.

Second time ordering delivery with Timkee, and last. The first was«okay» and I was willing to give it a second try because the BBQ pork chow mein decent. However, this evening is my last time with Timkee. The order arrived promptly but in the delivery driver seemed rushed so I quickly paid with my debit card and he took off. Once settling in to eat, something felt off. I checked my bank balance online and realized I’d been overcharged. I understand that there may have been a delivery charge but if anyone can understand the person who takes the phone orders, they have my eternal allegiance because that was NOT made clear to me. But, I brushed it off assuming was a misunderstanding. However, finding an rubber band in my beef with mixed vegetables is not something I’m willing to brush off. I’m still having trouble believing it even though the evidence is still sitting in my garbage can. Best of luck to Timkee, they seem desperate for business as they habitually flyer my apartment, but they have some issues with communication and continuity to work out. Buyer beware.

A very aggressive and bold rating by me, especially based on one dish: their famous eggplant beef on rice, what a huge portion! very tasty, yummy, hits the right spot, the eggplant cooked nice and plumb, and that sauce. you just have to try it. it’s called comfort food, thats my first thought. in no way is the rating a reflection of their décor, this is strictly more of a takeout place, even with 5 or 6 tables there. parking will be tough during rush hour on burrard st. so only the sides. and i’m not really into chinese food! and i’m chinese! lol

My only one star. :(I just received yet another flyer for this place. The ONE and only time I ordered food from here, I found a big, long, black hair in my food. Now, I know that hair is relatively clean(truly) but I couldn’t bear it. And the rest was… well, see the review below. I think that they might have given me a refund for that particular dish, but now I remember why I have NEVER eaten Chinese food since. Too bad I had to switch to Thai, which is ALMOST as bad in this city! If only they would hire the same people who design their flyers to read this website.(sigh).

As far as Chinese food goes, Timkee falls short of adequate. The price is fairly cheap in relation to the quantity you wind up getting, but would that trade-off even be worth it if the food isn’t very good? As far as pluses, the food was delivered on time and the person at the door was friendly. Sadly, the items I ordered – salted fish and chicken fried rice and the diced chicken with peanuts and chili – were below par. The thing is, the flavoring was passable, but the problem was the meat. The chicken in the fried rice were these huge tough strips that had no flavor, even for chicken. And the chicken in the main dish were tough and flavorless as well. How disappointing was it? I ended up removing all the chicken from my meal. Let me say that again: I ended up removing ALL the CHICKEN from my meal. And when chicken is the main ingredient in both your dishes, that’s probably a bad sign. Maybe they don’t do chicken well. Maybe their beef and pork dishes are better and I just had the misfortune of ordering their worst dishes. Unfortunately I don’t think I have the tenacity to find out.
