Came in here after being disappointed from the main LV location on burrard for not being able to sell me the scarf i wanted due to it being damaged. They told me that the LV at holt renfrew would have the scarf and to purchase it from there. So i walked over to Holts AND again was disappointed because they told me the exact same thing, the scarf they had was damaged and they weren’t able to sell it to me. What I don’t understand is why they even have those scarfs on the floor when they aren’t even able to sell it! I was so upset and left very disappointed. LV you have to step up your game. With the price tags you must deliver. Shame on YOU

I also love this LV location. The staff are friendly and helpful and the manager is a superb guy. I have only ever had one minor problem while shopping here: I was buying a wallet, and the only one they had in stock had a mark on it. At $ 700, it needs to be perfect in all ways. If I hadn’t checked it over carefully, I would have walked out with a less than perfect piece, so please, check your items carefully. That was an isolated incident, and I have since bought other items from this location, and had great experiences and perfect LV swag each time.

Amongst all the luxury powerhouses, Louis Vuitton is the one I regard with the most skepticism. It has more to do with how people have responded to it as opposed to Louis Vuitton’s own brand identity and the quality and imagination behind their products. Somehow, I just can’t divorce the image of all those beautiful monogrammed bags dangling off the arms of every other person on Robson Street and elsewhere that led to my dispassionate stance. At times it seems like people just greedily buy it without second though. As long as the LV monogram is clearly emblazoned over every square inch of the bag, it’s worthwhile. Despite all this, it’s hard not to be awestruck, season after season, at what Marc Jacobs has done with the brand. He was really the first to really embrace the possible partnership between so many different sectors of the creative industry, thereby subsequently paving the road for unions between H&M and Karl Lagerfeld, Target and Proenza Schouler, and Uniqlo and Phillip Lim. But I digress. Louis Vuitton’s most recent collaboration with Richard Prince is beautiful. Debuted last spring for the Fall 2008 collection, the Prince nurse purse parade already had people clamoring for more. The signature LV pattern awash with blue gradients now sits on shelves, just high above my head to be out of reach.
