I came upon this store during the spring gastown evening store hop! It was a great night that had a large number of gastown stores participate. I will say this, ‘I can’t wait for next year!’ Anyway, this place was one our last stops. It had just opened a few days earlier. I walked in and I just fell in love! Not just the clothes but the accessories and the furniture. I love what I bought. It’s such soft fabrics they use to produce their designs. The cuts are original and clean. I describe it to friends as post apocolyptic shiek. Does that make sense? If you aren’t sure, I highly recommend checking out the store out.

Mandula is a haute designer studio/store where interesting fabrics and designs can be found. The window display right now is of this beautiful simple dress with clean lines and then a wool crème couloured scarf that is thick and not symmetrical. It is very designer driven as opposed to real women can wear this driven, but it caters to a discerning clientele and I like that. One thing is for sure. You will be the only person wearing YOUR Mandula if you go out in town and people will stare.

Mandula is a boutique in Gastown that features designs of local label Moda Mandula. The clothing here is certainly very interesting in its cut and use of fabric; there is clearly an original vision behind Mandula. It is, however, very pricey, and likely not in the range of most people, but then what is in this store does tend to include a lot of going out or special occasion wear along with some more daily wear type items for women. If you do decide to go for the hefty price tag(I saw a knit hat for $ 190!), you will be sure to be wearing something unique that no one else will be likely to have as this label is definitely not mass-produced and it is more stylish than trendy in its aesthetic. It’s worth stopping into this store if only to browse.
