Got a yen for hummus that is so fresh it jumps? Grilled eggplant with tahini and lots of pita to pick up every last bit of yumminess? Then get yourself over to Maple Grill. Don’t stop with appies. The Moroccan Lentil soup is the best — fragrant and teasingly spiced. My breast of chicken was tender, juicy and ever so tasty, perched on perfect green beans, architecturally marvellous carrots, nuggets of fresh beet and slices of herbed zuchinni. A garden of delights. The marinated sable fish pleased our elder guest. The chicken cutlet on mashed potatoes disappeared without a shared taste — that means it was too good to share! We finished with the apple crumble, with a side of vanilla bean ice cream. Our sweet server brought a bowl of ice cream for bubbe which brought forth a big smile! There are very good vegetarian offerings, and you can be assured there is no dairy, as Maple serves meat, and the two are never served together according to Kashrut law. Gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu. The food here leans toward Mediterranean flavours with a light touch. I like this place, even with the slower service most times. I prefer a slower meal anyway!

It is hard to find anything good to say about this place! It is kosher. Ok that is the good thing! We arrived at 5.30 and there was no one eating. We hoped we would be served quickly. We ordered typical children’s meals, pasta, chicken tenders etc, they took 30 minutes to arrive. The children now eating we settled in to wait. We even took bets! Portions of salmon and grilled chicken were minute! Overcooked. The steak was so small they even brought a second scrap out of embarrassment. I am still trying to work out how a lamb chop can have four distinct pieces of bone in it! Then it came time to pay. Various excuses for why we could not see the actual bill. When it finally arrived 29 $ was demanded as a gratuity. Seriously? I refused to pay it. We live in the USA, tipping is the norm it is not demanded with menaces! There are several other kosher options in Vancouver, choose them!

I went here recently with a few family members. We ordered the salmon cakes for starters(yummy!) and I ordered the Maple Glazed Salmon, which was scrumptious. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal, except my husband who said his was a little bland. The only point of awkwardness is that no one in my party was Jewish, and we got a few surprised looks when we walked in. Perhaps the men I was there with should have worn kippas? I’m not sure. Overall a great experience.

Amazing restaurant! The good was very fresh and well prepared. We had the Mediterranean eggplant and portobello mushroom burger. It was well seasoned and it had an amazing touch of spices. The service was very good and fast. Overall it has a good ambience and the venue is very modern and chic. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for some good kosher food.

The restaurant was pretty busy when I came, but got started right away. The hostess was very perky and seemed to really enjoy her job. I started with a peppered yam soup. Hot. Good. I think a little less pepper would give it even better balance. Had the Maple Chipotle BBQ burger. Very, very good. Juicy. Well seasoned. Dressed with lettuce and tomato and aioli sauce. Finished with chocolate lava cake and a cup of coffee. The menu has a wide variety of fish dishes and a few other beef dishes. Clearly with the drive from where I’m staying tonight.

To me, the service is one of the most import elements of a restaurant, and at Maple Grill I was not disappointed. Attentive, but not overbearing. As well, the food was excellent, and the bar adequately(though not extensively) stocked. The atmosphere is comfortable but still feels slightly upscale. The only thing that I think could get better is prices, but honestly, in Vancouver, that’s true for everything.

Maple Grill Bistro is one of the best kosher restaurants in Vancouver. This is what I am told. I haven’t been to a kosher restaurant and did not know what to expect. We came here for a dear friend’s wedding reception. The interior is intimate with modern decoration. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. I didn’t know what What does a Kosher Kitchen meant and had to look it up. We started the evening with hummus and pickles and olives. The hummus with toasted sesame seeds, olive oil and was served with warm bread. Next a fresh salad with light vinaigrette was served. Grilled Chicken Breast: a juicy grilled chicken with Cajun rub was presented with a side of garden vegetables, mash potatoes and a guacamole-sundried tomato smokey aioli barbecue sauce. Chocolate Lava Cake: a warm chocolate lava cake with a lightly crunchy exterior and moist center. The cakes was really delicious. Maple Grill Bistro has a great variety on their menu of comfor food, steak house and traditional Jewish dishes. There are plenty of street parking on West Broadway.

We had such a great meal at the Maple Grill. Here were some of the highlights: –The food! It wasn’t good kosher food, it was good food. My husband and I gorged ourselves a bit because it was so, so wonderful! I got the coconut, carrot, ginger soup which was excellent and a touch spicy. I also got their vegan lentils with a creamed guacamole sauce(parve) and tomatoes and other roasted vegetables. It was out of this world, and I would happily go back just for that dish. My husband and I split a grilled maple sesame salmon salad and the sweet potato fries, which were amazing. He got had a wonderful dessert. –Allergy/Food Issue Awareness: I’m gluten free and have some other food allergies. It was so refreshing to walk into a restaurant and see food labeled as vegan, gluten free, ect. It meant that I could look at the menu and decide what I wanted once we were seated and not have to come up with a list of questions to interrogate the server with. It also showed me that they were on top of the allergy/cross contamination stuff, and I didn’t have to explain my allergy. –The menu changes seasonally, reflecting which produce is at its peak. I realize that this is a hard thing for many restaurants to do, so congrats to the maple grill! –The servers and host were excellent and very friendly. We typically find that servers in kosher restaurants forget about customers once they’ve been served, but this is not the case at all. –It was wonderful to find such a great restaurant in Vancouver. Not at all what we expected, but definitely much appreciated! Here were some of the things that they could improve on: –Service was very slow the night that we ate there.(In all fairness, I believe that one of their staffers was out sick, but my husband was able to take a nap between ordering and when the food arrived). –The Grill is being redone and looks great! However, their bathrooms were also being renovated. Initially, when I popped my head into one, I thought it was out of order. I think that a sign on the door saying, «Please excuse our appearance while we’re under renovation,» would have been a good idea. Nice Touches –They have a beautiful washing station outside of the restrooms. Thank you for a great meal!

Maple Grill is easily one of the best kosher restaurants in Canada. The food is a great mix between comfort food, steak house and old school Jewish cookin. The room is nice and servers friendly. Service can be slow if they are busy as the kitchen is not ready to be slammed. My Favs are the burgers(though the previous lamb-beef burger was better) and the open face steak sandwich which very very tasty. On the appetizer side the wings and sliders are good. The chicken soup sadly needs to be changed as it is below average at best.

spiritual dining at its finest. they are not just kosher but glatt kosher. their food is delicious and their modern interior makes it a great place to go for a new dining experience with a hubby. maple grill was my first kosher restaurant. i did not know what to expect — but i left feeling wholesome and impressed at what kosher dining can be. i assumed that the menu would be limited — however, their menu, including the bar menu, was presented with creative works that satisfies all your senses. you leave thinking about not what you can’t have but all that you CAN have while keeping kosher!

I heard that they had really great burgers here — homemade patties with a combination of lamb and beef. I didn’t confirm that, but my burger was nicely flavoured and not too dry(although one of my dining companions complained that his was). I got the maple chipotle bbq burger and it was good, but the patty was small and I did not taste any chipotle. The fries are amazing. Eat lots of fries. Our server was generally friendly and prompt, and left us with a lovely glass bottle of water for the table. We waited for way too long at the end of the meal to get our bill, though, and ended up having to call her over. The restaurant is nicely decorated, with lots of room in between tables. They’re trying to be classy here, and generally they’re succeeding. The music selection was far from it, though — do we really need an easily listening version of Daytripper? No, we don’t. I think I’d enjoy this place much more if I were coming here for a romantic evening or a business lunch, not burgers. FYI: They don’t list their hours of operation on their website, but they’re not open on Friday nights!

I have been here twice and have had pleasant experiences both times. I think the room has incredible potential but is desperately seeking ‘warmth’ and personality. The flavours are great, all the dishes I have tried are excellent. The only issue is that they totally skimp on meat portions. The burger patties are paper thin and the serving of meat in the shwarma is almost embarrassing. The staff is always incredible and friendly. The best dish I have had were the crispy wings!
