Opening the door to this little restaurant, we were greeted by a blanket of delicious smokiness from the grilling. All the tables were full so we sat at the bar. The smoke was starting to get quite heavy so thankfully someone had enough insight to open the sliding door. The menu isn’t big but all the right staples were there. We had the beef and lamb skewers, hand shredded chicken, full chicken wings, spot prawns, full squid, rinse tripes and the star was the pork belly buns. Everything was delicious, but after a little while the cumin becomes a bit overwhelming. Lots of commercial beer in bottles and some asian liqueurs. Prices are reasonable. Good service but the one serving us that night didnt know the menu items too well, definitely need some in house training especially for the area they’re in. Not a fan of the ambiance, it is a bit too bright and I thought the Chinese music they’re playing was inappropriate. It is like going to Richmond without going to Richmond. But, do give it a chance the food is fantastic and a very good dining experience.

Good liqueur, Good meat, Good friends. –Monk Bistro You can’t go wrong with a tag line like that. This charming little restaurant has the best Chinese BBQ in Downtown Vancouver. Make sure to try the Pork Belly Buns. It is worth going there just for them alone.
