Fantastic authentic Italian food. The Focaccia was the freshest appetizer I’ve had in recent memory. Made with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and prosciutto. The gnioccis, tagliatelle, and salad were all great. The service was also great. Everyone was very friendly. Overall great find.

For me, Verifood lived up to expectations. I found the pasta well presented, fresh, delicious and suitably portioned. I did not feel that it was overpriced at all. I had the tagliatelle carbonara and liked it. The sauce was more eggy than most places do it. I think this is the real italian way. I liked the bacon bits in it. They were crispy and full of flavour. I went here by myself and found it was a nice place for dining alone and not at all intimidating. Service was very friendly and I felt well taken care of. Also, they were playing a mix of Italian music which I really liked. It wasn’t cheesy and added character. I left feeling relaxed and replenished. What I like the most about this place is that it really has it’s own thing going on and is unpretentious. Good quality, good people, good vibe = well deserved good review. I agree with a previous comment about the name«Verifood» not being a very good choice for marketing purposes. It just doesn’t sound very attractive or fitting. The name should reflect more of its identity. «Veritalia» would be a better one in my opinion. or «Qualitaly».

Wow this place is absolutely amazing. The homemade pasta was very fresh and it paired really well with the carbonara sauce that came with some bread on the side. Portions are pretty huge especially if you order a creamy pasta, so share it with your friends if you would like to have a light meal. The tiramisu cake was also delicious as the cake was moist with a good amount of frosting that was overall well balanced. Dining in the restaurant was extremely comfortable, it was almost as if you went to a dinner party and the host cooked something special for you. The top seating area is quite small, so try to arrive early to avoid missing out!

This place offers excellent homemade pasta. I highly recommend the gnocchi with the rosè sauce, very delicious. Service was quick and you can even watch them make it. I’ll definitely be back!

my mom read about this in paper awhile back, and so me and the family took her for her bday. Great little family spot. The husband/wife team were making the homemade pasta while we sat upstairs and watched(and their cute kid played in the restaurant). Everyone loved their dishes, even my hard to please dad. it was so good i went back the next week to pick up some takeout for myself These are the types of spots we should be supporting, and it’s great to see them with such high reviews on Unilocal

Go here for super delicious handmade Italian pastas and breads. Stumbled on this place right before deciding to explore Stanley Park. A local had recommended«Nook» but it doesn’t open until 5 pm or so, which is really weird to me so we decided to take a chance on this place. It’s a small, quaint Italian restaurant with extremely friendly staff. While the prices were on the pricier side, by the end of the meal i thought it was completely worth it. We started with a Caesar salad and a garden salad, which was extremely fresh and tasty. I saw the chef take the croutons out of the oven and they were still warm when I received the salad. We also had the lasagna and a pasta dish with the pink sauce. Both were super delicious! You could taste the freshness of the pasta and the time it was taken to make all of the dishes. Our server came by and gave us fresh bread and gave us complimentary coconut macarons to end our meal with. Great service and food! One thing to comment on is that because the restaurant itself is quite small and not the fanciest place, but I thought it added to it’s charm. Also the food does take a long time to prepare so maybe not the best place to go if you’re starving.

Ordered a lasagna meal to go. The pasta was freshly cooked, the sauce and cheese thick and creamy, with a deliciously authentic Italian flavor. I thought it was quite tasty, the only downsides are the price/portion size… for what you spend, the size of the lasagna isn’t big enough. I suppose it’s quality over quantity, but for me the value wasn’t there in terms of cost. To the owners: increase the portion size! The only other suggestion I have for this business: change your name to something authentically Italian, like«Mama Mia’s» or «The Little Italian», or *something* more authentic… the name«Verifood» just sounds like a cafeteria food manufacturer, doesn’t signify Italian food, and isn’t helping your brand stand out in the marketplace.

1. Ordered online and when arriving at the store they didn’t have our order. Even after having a confirmation email. This resulted in us having to order something else because they had sold out of lasagne. 2. We p $ 25 for 2 regular meals and we literally got 5 pieces of pasta… Very overpriced. 3. The ‘butter and sage’ sauce was disappointing. This lacked in flavour and was lost in the dish. 4. The bolognaise sauce was disappointing. Extremely oily and not very flavorsome. 5. The Pasta was overcooked… which is not what you expect at an Italian kitchen. 6. The bread, athough free, was very doughy and smothered in olive oil. 6. we also got a latte a few days before because someone recommended it. All we could taste was luke warm steamed milk. 7. Maybe our hopes of this restaurant were too high but we won’t be returning. Extremely disappointing because we wanted to love it. Would prefer to spend my money trying out Nook across the road.

Wow! A true taste of Italy! We were treated like family to an authentic, non pretentious dinner. Fresh pasta was the theme of the meal and was that an experience! We watched the pasta being cooked from our perch up above and saw the simplicity of the masterpiece. From the long, wide noodles, to the tortelli, to the ravioli and lasagne, A+ all the way! A wonderful gesture of perfectly executed macaroons and biscotti paved the way to the most delicious tiramisu I have ever had… and I’ve had my share! Since it was later in the evening, it wasn’t very busy so our meals were quick to the table. I can’t think of anything they could do to improve their restaurant. A perfect casual Italian dinner that transported us to another world. Well done! Bravo! Hope to be back again when we return to Vancouver!

Interesting eating experience… like going to someone’s home and having them cook for you while you sit at the kitchen table. The chef is newly from Italy and his young son is playing throughout the restaurant. We went to the upper seating area which included a scattering of toys and what appeared to be the office at a side table. Our group ordered a variety of appetizer’s including eggplant parmigiana, and bruschetta. For mains everyone choose freshly made pasta. The simplicity of the tagliatelli with arrabbiata sauce was fantastic. The chew of freshly made pasta divine. Others had the ravioli with bolognese and alfredo. Everything was delicious. It appears that they do a significant take out business and that you can preorder online. Give them a try for a takeout lunch.

My husband and daughter went out to get some dinner for us and came upon VeriFood and decided to get some pasta. Since they were also going go get some pizza from another location, the chef told them to come back when they were ready so he could make sure the food was freshly cooked. We got the tagliatelle pasta in a carbonara and it was DELICIOUS! The pasta was perfect and the sauce was creamy and rich with little crunchy bits of prosciutto. We also had the house tiramisu and bits of biscotti which was just as excellent! Everything is homemade and fresh! Super awesome for grabbing dinner to go. Wish we had one on Maui!

I love this type of restaurant. Family business with friendly and homey atmosphere :) The name and décor of the restaurant may not be as appealing but statistically, this kind of restaurant always have good food! I don’t know why! We ordered the special combo. The combo comes with appetizer, main dish(pasta), drinks and coffee which is pretty good deal. Eggplant Parmigiana — Very good. My bf who is not a big fan of eggplant end up liking this dish. The tomato sauce is awesome, and the bread that comes with it is fluffy. Focaccia Farcita– Good stuff. I love the bread they use. I preferred eggplant parmigiana though. Gnocci with Arrabbiatara — Loved it. I also enjoyed the gnocci :) Tagliatelle and Bolognese sauce– Very good. Capuccino — It’s different from the capuccino I drink at franchised coffee shop. Nice and smooth… Service of the restaurant is very good too. The staff are all nice and friendly :) I would visit this place again… It’s good for lunch/coffee/dinner…

Ordered the gnocchi with bolognese sauce… great texture amazing flavours and the bread that came with it taste so good. Also had the eggplant parmigiana and my tastebuds still remember the oozy gooey lusciousness of the dish. sopped it all up with the amazing bread. The two bite almond biscotti that came with it just truly compliments this meal. Just love the fresh taste of their food and can’t wait to taste everything on their menu

Verifood is a newly opened Italian restaurant in the Vancouver West End. At the corner of Robson and Denamn, Chef and owner Vittorio brings their love of authentic Italian culinary traditions and fresh handmade pasta from Florence, Italy. The marriage of labor and love from making fresh pasta brings joy to one’s table. «Just like his nonna makes.» This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant, Verifood has been only opened a few months. The Checcacci family young to Canada is growing new roots and working hard. All the pasta Vittorio makes are done fresh every morning with ingredients sourced locally and imported from Italy. The menu is concise and only includes 10 choices. All dishes are reasonably priced less than $ 9. There are appetizers like bruschetta, salads and desserts available. Gluten-free options are available only from pre-orders three days in advance. TAGLIATELLE with Carbonara Sauce — Freshly made pasta tossed in a classic blend of Italian bacon, eggs, cheese and Parmigiano Reggiano. I liked the nice, creamy sauce. The pasta has a good bite. RAVIOLI with Alfredo Sauce — Spinach and ricotta filled ravioli with a melted butter and fresh sage sauce and chopped fresh parsley leaves. For dessert we had a sampler of Tuscan almond biscotti and a light, fluffy olive oil cake. There are two types of tiramisu available. The traditional tiramisu was creamy and decadent. The pineapple tiramisu was light and airy. I loved the combination of pineapples and Mascarpone cheese.

Unbelievable food. Great service. Vittorio was there with his wife and son. It truly was a great dining experience. Fast, friendly, and great price! Hands down the MOST authentic and delicious Italian food in the city! Will go back several more times. I can’t say enough good about the quality of the food and the awesome atmosphere! Molto Bene!!!

After a mixup with our order thru lazymeal, the owner hand delivered the meal to the our front door. Amazing customer service and even better food! They were out of meat lasagna so we opted for the vegetarian, it was delicious, fresh handmade noodles and tons of sauce and seasonal vegetables. The bruschetta was 4 pieces of artisan bread top with actual fresh tomatoes! I am not sure what the last dish is called but was fresh bread with prosciutto and cream cheese. An order of biscotti came complimentary with our order and was a great touch. Can’t wait to check out their actual location on Robson near the west end.

Made to order, fresh pasta and sauces. Bare bones décor, and not much seating but the food and friendly service makes up for it. We ordered the large«Italian» combo for $ 22.95 it comes with your choice of appetizer, pasta, 2 drinks(coffee or cold drinks) and dessert. They’ve got about five different pastas and sauces that you can mix and match. I was intrigued by the ravioli and butter sage sauce. The owner/chef was kind enough to split everything onto two plates for us. Remarkably fast service for a one man operation, made to go. The eggplant parmesan was delicious, didn’t fall apart on the fork. Gnocchi with 4 cheese sauce was pillowy and loved the sauce. Accompanied by nice, homemade bread. Dessert was tiny slices of sponge cake and biscotti. Though the pasta portion was a bit small, it was still a very satisfying lunch. Will definitely come back to try a risotto with carbonara sauce.

My boyfriend and I tend to avoid Italian restaurants in Vancouver since they’re generally pretentious, bland, and/or unauthentic. We decided to try this place, however, on a whim and we were quite blown away. In terms of décor it’s nothing special — looks almost fast food like. But the food! There’s a rustic charm to it– so simple and elegant. In fact, there’s true elegance to this food compared to the usual flashy, try-hard Italian restaurants in this city. I’ve never been to Italy, but my boyfriend has family there and, therefore, I think, the greatest compliment came from him when he said«this is how my grandmother made this!» The cappuccino was very foamy! 5⁄5 Bruschetta Al Pomodoro 5⁄5 Pappardelle Amatriciana 5⁄5 Dessert(I don’t know the name unfortunately) 5⁄5 Handmade pasta, organic ingredients and great service. Really, they could have charged us 3x what they charge right now. I definitely like this place.

because of their small location, there is a bit of clutter– their preparation is within touching distance of the customer! they have limited seating at ground level, and you must navigate past some dry goods boxes to go upstairs. But I found my ravioli to be perfecto– the spinach wasn’t over cooked and the portion for $ 9. was decent.

I’ve really wanted to try this place and ordered their dish for the first time. I got Lasagna Vegetariana($ 8.95) to go and was surprised to see small portion of my food. However Verifood uses fresh quality ingredients and their pasta was good. I also enjoyed Biscotti and bread pieces. If you were to order something I’d recommend getting appetizer together. Service was fast and staff were friendly. Price is expensive in my personal opinion and perhaps I’m used to inexpensive food with big portion. Moreover, my order came in nice food container instead of cheap foam container. This is a perfect place for an authentic Italian food in West End. I’m giving 4 stars because of small portion.
