They have been closed for a few weeks if not months now. I went once right after they opened and thought their snacks were tasty but a bit unusual in flavours to me. Not too surprised that they are gone though.

*This is a copy of my review from urbanspoon.* The first time I tried it, it was because my friend ordered their chicken karaage on rice. This was during summer. It was tasty and not expensive, so the next day I went for it. I walked in, at around noon and ordered the Chicken Karaage combo, only for the worker to say they are sold out. I was disappointed but being sold out happens, and I couldn’t fault them for it. However, when my coworker started his shift 20 minutes later, lo and behold, he walks in with Chicken Karaage from Takoya. This peeved me a little, but I wasn’t turned off as I still wanted to try their Karaage. A couple days later, I gave it another shot and I ordered the chicken karaage combo that comes with salad and soup for takeout. I waited about fifteen minutes for it, and when it was ready and packed, the owner(a big Japanese man with good English) tells me that«walking around with hot soup is dangerous», so he substituted the soup for«a little more salad» for me, even though I still paid for the soup. Why he didn’t give me the soup while I was waiting I have no idea, but now I was in a hurry to get back to work so I let it slide. When I finally opened the box, the salad was minimal, despite the«extra» he gave me. The karaage sauce was also different from the first time I tried it. This time it was just plain mayonnaise compared to a more vibrant slightly orange sauce from the first time. This was the last strike. I wont be going back, as there just wasn’t one good thing that happened in my experience there. Truthfully the food was decent, but for lunch, you might as well order for Guu which is only down one block which isn’t nearly as expensive as their dinner menu. For an extra buck, you get more food, it tastes better, and better service. Another coworker also said the boss told him the same thing about walking around with hot soup being dangerous, but he told the owner that he ordered soup so why shouldn’t he get soup, and the owner complied.

This place opened 2 weeks ago and we just stumbled across this place during our visit in Vancouver. I got the Takoyaki soft tako. I have to say by far this is the BEST takoyaki I have ever tasted. It was freshly made and everyone there was very nice. The owner gave us other stuff to try! Would recommend this place and will return again.
