Pretty good prices, smaller portions. Sandwiches are best bang for your buck. Food is amazing.

* Hidden spot * This little restaurant is really hidden away in an odd location on some steps I was cutting through near the Bentall Centre. I had never noticed it before so figured I should give it a try. It basically is a Greek diner that has a limited menu and presents the items nicely. I ordered the pulled lamb baguette which also had kefalogaviera cheese, fresh tomato, caramelized onions, bbq sauce, and was drizzled with olive oil and aceto di balsamico($ 11). The oil and balsamic drizzle caught me off guard as it looked like the sandwich may have been too soaked in it. But it oddly worked and the bread remained quite crispy. The lamb was very tender and well seasoned. I didn’t detect the BBQ sauce per se — as it was more of a typical Greek leg of lamb flavour profile. The cheese, tomatoes, and onions all balanced out each bite nicely. A very nice(and filling!) sandwich. Photo: The place became very packed very quickly as noon rolled around, yet the staff was on top of things, seemed to know many regulars, and got the food out quickly to the downtown office crowd stopping in. I’ll definitely be back when in the area, now that I know it is hidden away there!

Probably the best breakfast in the neighbourhood. Great food, great service. Always cringe a little bit when I order poached eggs in a new place because chances are I will end up sending them back at least once. Not here! They were perfect.

O’Love is in a strange spot, tucked in behind one of the Bentall office towers, so I feel like it’s a hidden little secret. It has however, become my absolute favorite lunch spot– to the point that I even took my partner here during our Christmas break. O’love has home made Greek Fusion food. There’s something for everyone on the menu and everything is very, very good. The service is fantastic and the owners are super friendly and will often stop by and have a chat when they have a moment. We’ve also used them to cater office lunches and found that they were very accommodating of our requests and made some great suggestions to feed 30 hungry staff members. We order a tray of Greek Poutine(which had feta instead of cheese curd) and it was gone in minutes. Give it a go… and try the pulled lamb, you won’t regret it!

It wasn’t easy, but after countless attempts and upset stomachs later, I think I may have found the place to cure me of my hatred of the poor man’s burritos known as wraps. O’Love Bistro is a newly opened, cozy space tucked between Bentall 3 and 4. Its menu consists mainly of sandwiches(run-of-the-mill sandwiches on regular bread and larger specialty sandwiches on fresh baguettes), burgers, and Greek-inspired hot dishes such as souvlaki and kalamari. Most dishes come with a generous portion of Greek salad, soup, or fries. While the menu isn’t extensive, everything is executed well and don’t skimp on all the tasty extras that make a humdrum dish something special. Case in point: my Protein Wrap with lamb was bursting with tzatzaki, hummus, tomatoes, onions, and shredded lamb(pulled pork-esque, but with all the gamey deliciousness of lamb), and wrapped in a warm fresh pita. The side Greek salad had an even balance of veggies(don’t you hate it when other places overdo it with the cucumber?!) and a heaping portion of fresh feta — no store bought chalky feta to be found here! Service was friendly, quick, and attentive. My coworkers love this place and it seems like more people that work in the area are starting to catch on. While I wish it nothing but success, I’m crossing my fingers that it doesn’t get so busy that it becomes a battle to get a table!
